@@TsukiCove there are a few hundred in germany and a couple in the UK. Ironic enough the largest species of birds in Belgium where i live is a migratory bird, the White Stork and its kinda a love child in my town because one of our previous mayors loved bird spotting a lot and brought in White Storks for conservation efforts.
I hope there’s a Pokémon made of the Number one entry, I think that would be a good thing to bring awareness to this bird. I think it would be a good defensive ground flying type.
No they’re not. They’re only “vicious” when stupid people, like you, walk up to them and try to either one, pet them, or two see their babies. They’re devoted parents and try to protect them as much as they can.
5:37 IDK what swans you are familiar with but around the Great Lakes they are dangerous. they are very aggressive and have drowned people as well as other water birds. they use their wings as effective weapons as well. I dont dislike them but damn they can be scary.
Oldest male Great bustards can reach 20 kilos. Record is 21 kilos. Normally they reach 14-16 kilos, females 4-5 kilos. Monk or Black vultures can reach 11-12 kilos, and common/griffon vulture around 6-7, but they can eat a big ammount of flesh until they weight 10 or 11.

This makes me think were likely to get a great Bustard inspired Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. The Paldea region is based on Spain and Portugal after all. It would be way larger than the real animal most likely. It would be cool!

It's only wingspan that is larger which really isn't the best way to calculate size so it's best to go by weight. Yes flamingos are lighter than these birds
Albatrosses are around Antarctica area but there is some very rare times where they show up in Europe like the black browed albatross nicknamed Ablert Ross how came very often to the British Isles
In Finnish whooper swan is called "laulujoutsen" literally "song swan". Maybe it's our appreciation of these birds. Or we are on average more tone deaf than English speakers 🤔
In spanish, the bearded vulture is called "quebrantahuesos", which means "bone breaker". Such an appropiate name.
And a beautiful bird as well
Same in Portugal. We call it quebra-ossos.
I love this mountain bearded vulture and in my country(italy) there are the griffin vulture and bonebreaker

I expected the rhea to be mentionned in this video. Even if they're not native to Europe, there is a feral population in South Germany.
