Hi Carl. I bought mine used, boxed with all the accessories. I had a look at the charger after 24hours and the Lead Acid as well as Lithium led was lit and the main light was an Amber/green. The lights were sort of 'vibrating' not really flashing. The bike started like never before...much more powerful
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl So I tried everything and to no avail. I then left it plugged in on the mains only for about two hours and there it is...working properly. I can now switch between lead acid and Lithium like it should be
Hi Carl , I have a 2006 Sportster 883 . I fitted an Oxford tender I purchased from amazon! ( beginning of last year) she’s just had a service and the battery was replaced! Unfortunately the dealer didn’t replace the batteries tender wires ! So I bought new wires from Amazon but the connection wire to the tender is a different type ! I did tell the Harley dealer who said Oh No we would have re installed the wire ! I told them you 100% did not ! I’ve taken the battery cover off and took a photo ! when I showed them ! they said oh well get you a new cable ! I got home a went onto Amazon and bought myself a new cable ! and I’ll again fit it myself ! It’s taking around a week to come ! I shall tell the dealership they’ve lost a future customer. Good video. If the tender is not working check the pigtail 7.5amp fuse before blaming the battery. Fyi, not all battery pigtails have an inline fuse. I went crazy looking for the connection off the battery terminal and its not on the battery. My 2020 HD Heritage came with the tender installed. The 7.5amp fuse is located in the same compartment as the main fuse which is located in the left panel.
my battery on my 2018 Iron 1200 went bad after 2 years. The battery on my 2017 Street Glide is still good. I used the battery tender religiously. The battery on the Iron would charge up but wouldn't hold the charge over night. AutoZone tested it and said it was bad.
I have a 2020 street bob I bought brand new. Has 44k miles now. 2 years and I think my batter is slowly dying. There's days now the bike won't turn over. I never used a tender as I am a daily rider.

Thank you for this video! Since I am colourblind I was not sure, whether I will be able to see the indicator lights on the new battery tender (the old version had just one LED and no blinking so I could not see it) - your video encouraged me to try the new version - I bought one today and it works for me! The orange light ist flashing when disconnected - when I connect it, I can easily compare, if the colour changes to green... The switching LED for Lithium or Lead are the same green - this also makes it possible for me to compare, if they have the same colour as the indicator light or not! Certainly it would have been better, if Harley would use more distinguishable colours (blue?) but I am happy with the new battery tender.
I would love to but I dont have one yet and I am in the middle of moving. I don't have my bikes or tools for the next few months. But I will check out the charger and look into it.
Hi Carl. Just one question. I also have a Iron 1200. Does the batery tender connector fits inside the batery cover of the sportster? I bought a Batery tender and im going to mount it, but i didn't want to leave the connector for the charger outside the batery. Thanks.

All three light are on 😅 . ???? Maybe the AGM mode gave the battery a boost of energy ???
Mine just always has a green light and it is my understanding you can leave it on as long as you want. I think when the battery dies it will flash not sure what color
@@adminadmin9997 Are you new in the motorcycle world? 😊 Yes every rider should have a tender, unless it is ok to replace the battery frequently. If your bike do not have an alarm system and it is your only transport used on daily basis, then maybe you are ok without a tender. Just keep in mind a bad battery will drain a lot of power continuously from the alternator and could burn it.

3:05 while it's always a good idea to plug in direct to the wall, that's an 800 mah tender, not a charger. a common 100' 14 gauge extension is more than adequate for anything under 15 amps. your not even at 1. even an old school lamp extension is fine for old 4 to 12A battery Chargers. your Tender is fine. your also right about lettings the tender discharge as well. even my stupid new smart charger will keep a memory for 10 to 15 seconds and if it's attached to the battery and not the wall, it won't shut down and reset.
