That was awesome! Looks like you're starting to like H-stands lol! Gavin chopped that beaver out like a pro! Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas my friends!
I use strike indicators on my h stands that I designed so I can check from long distance. No wasting time spudding out holes to check if trap has fired off. 3 of us full time trappers field tested thru nuisance work and putting them to work this winter. Tremendous help when your catching hundreds of beaver every season
@330Maniac ,they let you on . Katherine use to never let anyone on over there by the road on that house. I own land behind the house you have the traps in. I took 3 big beaver out of there in the spring. One was 68 pounds others were 3 1/2 year olds . Lots of springs in that lake, went through a few times up to my chest . Usually why I trap it in the spring . Really soft bottom , lots of bog. I trap it every year as they damn up the cricket of the end of the lake to the south and flood our fields every year If I don't keep after them .
Ever thought about 2 snares on a long pole, my brother ues to use snares around the house and try to have everything ready before he gets there, some with bait sticks wired to a another pole with the feeder sticks and it worked out for him, pretty smart to do that with fresh popalar trees
Just to be nosey, could you give us a count of how many beaver you've caught by size so far this year? And how they're sized, blanket? Next size down and so on. Thanks!!
I have lots of h-stands and only use them in open water. Two spruce poles with a 2” strip of rubber tire tube works the best. The problem with h-stands is after the beaver is caught it’s a real mess to get him out of water in cold temperatures without fur freezing to trap and stand and requires large hole. Rubber band is wired only to one pole so both poles can be removed and 1 spring latched before the beaver comes out of water
I look it up how long a beaver can stay under water 45 minutes max. And they can swim quite fast, and they have small breather holes that they use to stop and get some air and head out to the feeding zone!!! 🦫🦫🦫🦦🦦✌️out 🇺🇲
Wow what a huge beaver Awesome Job Scotty
scott your the best beaver trapper on youtube.

East of Dl ? Looks like fox lake. Just curious as I own land on the lake if it is. I normally trap it if it is Fox lake.
Yes that is what the lake is called. Land owner along the road called me to trap it. Taylor. I entered through their property.

I watch your clip , only you set the traps, but how do you cook the beaver? I have never tasted .
What axe is that that you use?
Just curious how much r beaver pellet going for
I am not a big fan of the H stands either but they do work.

I have used that set many times later in the season when their feed pile starts to get sour and old.
Yeah boys!!!
👍
I would love to buy that 60 lbs from you. I have caught 2 that were over 50. PA beaver are ok but a Norrhern one would be very cool.

Scotty you forgot to tie off brother, im glad to see I'm not the only who forgets somethings 😅, love the videos heading out tomorrow
Guess who forgot their gauntlets this morning
We need a weight on that hawg
Why do you dislike H stands so much? Before I go buy them I was wondering
It holds the trap up off the bottom to far
