I have always always always lusted after this townhome - to own it would be a dream come true. I loved how it was styled when Halston lived there - the 'gray days' where he had that oversized Warhol displayed to the far left of the Loft.
I think that was a problem with either this apartment or another house Paul Rudolph designed - all the split-levels and constant changing steps in the house made it a danger for the owners as they aged into their 70s.
Me too. It made the space more monumental. I can only imagine after years of being stained with sex, drugs, and alcohol, it probably had to go. I'm sure the workmen got jacked just from breathing in the leftover cocaine dust while ripping it out.
The Era of the Gay 70’s in NYC was everything it’s cracked up to be. (No pun intended) Fortunately, I had the foresight to leave the scene. Had I continued to follow my libido and illicit behavior, I surely wouldn’t have survived into the 80’s, when the party tragically came to an abrupt halt. Treasured Memories, far too Fabulous for words.
Exactly I’m absolutely dumbfounded on how so many never got to live past the 80s era and if they did it was only a one to two year time frame it’s almost if their presence was particularly made for that era and no other I’m glad you survived.

Of course! Colombia may be the producer, but you in the US are the consumers. You’d be surprised to know that you are the biggest consumers. Colombia thankfully has a low rate of cocaine consumption. It’s just that you guys would never wanna admit it and try to make it appear as if it was the opposite, it’s more convenient for you of course. Just please look at the statistics, educate yourself!
Incredible design 😍 Prefer traditional normally but would live here in a heartbeat & rekindle the cocktail parties on the regular. And all my vinyl would fit in perfectly.
With all that alcohol and coke who needs a kitchen anyways. Just look at those big ugly kitchens that they are building now they all look like stone cold office slabs. @@shadowandsoul4331 Well, I've been reading lots since the miniseries and have seen the documentary (I was also a fan in the 80's and am wearing his scent as we speak, but I digress). Halston did have a cook/assistant named Mohammed Soumaya. So the kitchen was used daily (I'd still like to see it!). Halston also loved using Dial-A-Steak, a 1960s and 1970s version of today's DoorDash (being from Indiana, he preferred steak and potatoes). He didn't really have things "flown in," according to those who knew him best.
@@isaacscott1063 I’m not sure but having read so much about Halston, I was shocked to discover that he was the product of an abusive household. Perhaps it’s something he preferred to gloss over.

Overpaying the cops for overtime, getting rid of protections for working class people but giving tax breaks to the Corporate grifters.
who's here after watching Halston on Netflix!? They did a pretty good job of rendering the house!
Me! That show was amazing!!

You right! I watched it. What an ego!!!
In 1973, I lived next door at 105 East 63rd.
I could see his bamboo garden from my bedroom window.
Did u ever see him? Was his house a loud party house as they say?
Take any Polaroids?
I am really keen to know more of your experience of being a neighbor to Halston! tell us more!!!
tell us all the stories!! :D
commenting for the stories 👀
It needs to be deemed historic and made into a museum
AGREE!
@Adri Chica Really! I'm not surprised. He was heavily influenced by Halston.
Brilliant Idea! You'd be perfect to help do it. Be like an Archivist.
Such a beautiful home halston was ahead of his time
He was living in a minimalist lifestyle 20 years ahead of everyone else.
I just watched the movie Halston. What a movie. What a man. What a life.
What a house!

a night of Champagne? boy with this kind of expressions you will have never fit in! lol!
Drunky-Wunky no can do. Missy was never more sure-footed in stilletto heels as when she was ascending that suicide staircase.
😅🤣 good point
Halston did it for a decade on cocaine! And you’re talking about champagne?
I miss this show and I loved the series.
Wow he most certainly had insight into the future. This house would inspire designers and architects today and everday in modern times lolx 😀❤😀
It's so timeless! Bravo Halston!
Awesome series. And era. Thank you for showing HALSTONs NYC Apartment. I’m blown away.

1:30 the picture frames need to be straightened
I tjought exactly the same... like damm if you are doing a video to sell a palce at least straighten the frames...
And a few of them need to come down, too. Having them all cheek-to-jowl like that............not attractive. Are we entering a pizzeria?
Who ever did the decorating and whom ever approved it should not have been paid. Thats the worst hanging job I have ever seen.
And those candles, just about to fall out of the candle holders. These are the details that say a lot about the real estate agency.

That townhouse is 7500 sq ft? Good god! That a big home.
