I was hoping that someone from the reel rejects team would be seeing it this weekend! I was so enamored the whole time and feel the need to go to bat for this movie. I loved the subtle morbidity in the humor that I wasn't expecting. I can't wait for more people to see this film. Thanks for the video Coy!
Minor spoilers... Yeah I can't believe they let a decapitated head and killing a crab go through in a pg movie. I wish more pg movies took their audiences seriously like this.
I was struggling to not to sob during the the migration scene, I would literally be crying out loud if I didn't try hard to hold it back, please watch it for those who haven't, you will not be disappointed
Happy Be-lated Birthday It’s my birthday today This movie is so beautiful, story wise, art wise. Is just so beautiful!! Seeing Roz learning and experiencing the beauty of nature 3:32 you stood beyond your programming
I'm looking forward to seeing this tomorrow. One cause it looks great but two, my kids are excited about it and I love how they love the theatrical experience. We read them the book so they have a connection already. Glad to hear it lived up to the hype.
Really like the animation…it is not realistic, but like a painting - with texture and brush strokes. Like recent animations, Across the Spiderverse, Puss in the Boot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they are not going for photo realism, but comic or painting canvases. But I do wonder if this is a family film. There are some deaths and the middle part kind of slow down a bit. I like that I don’t recognize most of the actors behind the voices. Love Stephanie Hsu as the evil robot - sweet, but overly so in an icky way… .
Thanks for doing such a wonderful breakdown of why it is as brilliant as it is. I saw it today and couldn't find the words to describe it. I am encouraging everyone I know to see it. I was so disappointed that the theater was not full. I don't understand because the trailers are so great. I was hyped from them and it blew me away. I didn't have enough tissues.
This is a wonderful review and breakdown without revealing to much. It is an amazing movie! The "Old Pixar-Disney." The " Now Dreamworks-Universal." Move aside Disney., there is a new Leader in the animated - entertainment industry.
I absolutely loved this movie. It’s so damn good. Forget animation of the year, this film ( as of now ) is a shoe in for film of the year nom! There are not enough good things I can say about this movie
Been waiting for this one...one of my most anticipated..hoping to catch this in 3D..immediate buy on blu ray.. Appreciate your videos coy..have a good rest of the month for your trip around the sun...
@@2WhiteAndNerdy Wow, challenge accepted…I am a huge fan of Iron Giant and hold it in high regards as an unrecognized and lowkey animated classic …I am curious what is your opinion on Disney’s BOLT? I can’t be the only supporter?!?
I saw this today at a matinee showing…I choke-sobbed 4-5 times. I thought it was brilliant! It was so refreshing seeing an animated film with an original story for the first time in a while (a little sick of sequels and live-action remakes). Tbh, as much as I also loved “Inside Out 2”, I hope “The Wild Robot” wins the animated feature Oscar!
I’m probably an outlier but I was a bit disappointed in the movie. The high praise gave me high expectations so when I watched it I just thought it was okay. Visually it was stunning, the music was terrific and the acting was great but I feel like the story went by too fast for me to really feel any of the emotional moments. I wish the movie was a bit longer to really make me feel for the familial relationship between Roz and Bright Bill. Other than that, it was a solid movie, just a bit overhyped.

I absolutely agree with Coy as I just came from watching it. It was a beautifully done animated movie.

After this and Puss n Boots the Last Wish, I believe that Dreamworks has officially surpassed Pixar in terms of quality this decade.
They truly do examplary work
HTTYD and these two mentioned are so exceptional
@@CoyJandreauand their best work, The Prince of Egypt!
I think I’m gonna go tomorrow with my sis. Everyone keeps saying the same thing LOL.

Best film of the year ✅
How would you rate this to iron giant?
Surprisingly, I think this one exceeds it! And I saw that as a huge fan of the Iron Giant. Wild Robot was really, REALLY good!

poignancy
Mad for a movie to have so much humanity on show, without there being any humans in it.
