I think it’s unfortunate that some of her lines from the manga were cut from the anime. Individually they seem small, but over the course of the whole story, they give Mikasa more layers.
I think people get so caught up on character development and don’t realize how it doesn’t always work out like that
And if it did always work out like that then it would just be boring
People want things to be the exact way they want. Thats just what it is.
@@SeaTactics no they don’t. Mikasa was horrible written. Eren never liked her like that. She’s just a sister who wants to protect her crybaby brother. Jean is the one who she needs.

I'd say she has Dependent Personality Disorder. The person she depends in being Eren obviously. It's all explainable with the trauma she went through.
I loved that intro very much, Mikasa Ackerman is one of if not the most mislabelled and misunderstood characters in AOT. She is just as layered and flawed as every character in this show but this is always used to disingenuously criticise and demean her character by a vocal minority who hated the ending and are still not to terms with it but I’m glad videos like yours exist to shine a light on her and give her the props she deserves
Those people are really annoying. That's why I like to do what I do. If others want to try and muddy the waters, I'm just gonna clear it up with well thought out lore videos.

Thanks for this video I agree she has high popularity but the haters are just loud so you come across them more often. I liked what you said about the world changing around her while she stayed the same. It reminds me of that talk she had with armin and eren about "going back to those days" she wants everything to be how they were but sadly the world showed her in the most cruel way possible that it can't happen. That's why her "decision'' means a lot to me.
Mikasa personality wise has never changed HOWEVER mikasas will has been challenged yet her story shows to us the viewers that you should always stay true to yourself

At this point, I am convinced that almost, if not all, of characters in Attack on Titan are definitely Sith in some ways.

mikasa is one of the unfortunate souls who happen to fall for eren..
but i love her more when she finally get rid of him..
no matter how much anyone justify eren's heroism and pain for his choices (he is not that smart at the first place to even decide whats good or not actually.. so i dont blame him.. he just happen to have power.. period).. he knows he's fucked up anyway..
Sure, she got rid of Eren but it shattered her spirit in the process. He was the love of her life and killing him destroyed her beyond repair. She never married and only adopted a child to stave off the loneliness of Eren's death at her hands.
She's the most important character in the manga arguably
Isayama himlsef said three characters are essencial to the story: none of them is Mikasa, even though she's part of the main trio. The characters he listed were Eren, Armin and Historia

That video was amazing, man. It expresses very well the style of the character and the whole aspect that Isayama put well enough into her and I agree with basically everything. However, despite understanding and making sense, it doesn't mean that I like the direction of the character, her best point is still the most frustrating throughout the entire narrative and I wish her bitter ending (Does anyone have any doubts if Will she have a tragic ending, win or lose to Eren?) has a bittersweet, horror story tone (Oh guy, I got too attached to that translation of Eren's line in episode 24), anyway, your AoT videos are always very interesting

I used to call her Pick-Me Kasa but honestly looking back eren saved her life after a super traumatic event of not only watching her folks die but almost being sold into seggs slavery - so I get her loyalty and love for eren
Let’s hope in season 4 pat 3 if there is an AOE or not, your choice what to believe, I hope Eren and Mikasa get to have some closure and them reconciling there differences, mostly Eren apologizing to mikasa about the “I always hated you” which was obviously CAP and there other times Eren treated her poorly, but also Eren telling her how he truly feels about her even if he dies I jus want closure for Mikasa and Eren

the point of him saying that is so she can find happiness after he dies and would be able to face off against him. he didn't actually mean those words.

What an outstanding character, the entire story is about her loving eren and the only conversation we have about that between the two of them is a vision where they abandoned all of their friends to die

I think the reason we didn’t get more from Eren was because he needed to, in order to do the rumbling. You may be thinking he only did this as an adult, and so him ignoring her as a teen was just him not loving her. However, Eren put the thought of trampling the world since the day he was born, and directed the smiling titan to kill his mother. So I think older Eren had put the idea in younger Eren that he had to push away Mikasa the same way he influenced himself into the rumbling. Do I love Mikasa’s and Eren for
relationship? No, but is it kinda reasonable? yes

I think the anime embellished that scene a bit. In the manga she didn’t seem to enjoy doing it like she did in the anime.
It was either them or the outside world, including hizuru. I think she made the right choice
@@him5903 I don't care about Marley (maybe only the Eldians who live there and Ramzi's nation) but why did the Yeagerists want to kill the Hizuru clan members? They were the allies of the Eldian Empire, right?
I think her not changing or evolving one little bit even after everything,( in a bad way ) is what makes her a rather bad character and heavily critiqued
Her only words are ereh even after growing up. it's like her body kept growing but her mentality/brain hasn't grown one bit
Season 4 everything is so complicated ( more than ever ) and interesting, especially Eren, and then there's Mikasa same as always with no thoughts or meaningful dialogue
Stagnant is the best description of her
It's disappointing to the point of frustration
