Shehzad... its 4 in the morning as i finished watching this podcast. It was very well done and you are doing a yeoman's job for Afia. I heard a different version from Syed Muzzamil Shah; who i think quoted Seymour Hersh or some other prominent journos who vouch that Afia was indeed guilty. When too many versions of the story is retold and embellished to suit different audiences, conspiracy becomes the absolute truth. Thanks to Clive for being such a compassionate soul. I wish Afia Siddiqui gets released.
Clive Stafford Smith's insights in this video regarding Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s case are both eye-opening and deeply concerning. The legal intricacies and human rights violations presented reveal a troubling narrative about justice and accountability, particularly for those caught in the web of international politics. Dr. Aafia’s story highlights the complexities of the U.S. legal system and its treatment of individuals accused of terrorism, often without due process. Stafford Smith’s articulate defense not only underscores the flaws in her prosecution but also sheds light on the broader implications for civil liberties and the presumption of innocence. Moreover, the emotional weight of Dr. Aafia’s situation is palpable. Her case raises critical questions about the ethical responsibilities of legal representatives, the role of the media, and the societal impact of framing individuals as enemies rather than as human beings deserving of fair treatment. It compels us to reflect on how narratives are shaped in the court of public opinion and the lasting repercussions of such portrayals. Listening to Stafford Smith, one can’t help but feel a sense of urgency to advocate for justice not only for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui but for all individuals whose voices have been marginalized in similar circumstances. This video serves as a vital reminder of the need for vigilance in safeguarding human rights and the principles of justice in our increasingly polarized world. The dialogue around this case must continue, pushing for accountability and reform while amplifying the stories of those who remain voiceless.

Wow! Before listening to this poscast, I was so anti-Aafia Siddiqui mainly due to the support that was extended to her by the likes of Jamat-e-Islami and all the relegious parties. This has really put the whole thing in a new light and forced me to re-evaluate my position despite the support from relegious parties that they give to her. For me she was just a tool by the agencies to whip up anti-american sentiment in Pakistan but this has really opened my eyes. I hope if this guy is right she gets released on priority and hopefully unite with her children
Mr. Stafford Smith seems to be a very learned and empathetic person. Despite that, I don't find his narrative building on this case to be sufficient to counteract the case against Aafia Siddiqui. I'm glad there was some pushback in this podcast.
The question that remains unanswered is WHY was this woman on the CIAs and FBIs radar in the first place? Yes the whole arrest and prosecution was a sham and she deserves to be freed but DO NOT portray her as a pure innocent
@mariamtee yes that seems likely, but the case isn't as simple as it was made out to be. Nor was she the mother of Alqaeda nor was she an innocent bystander framed by her husband. Nonetheless, the ordeal she went through and is still going through is unimaginable and unforgivable. I hope she gets pardoned and receives proper medical treatment soon.
There are a lot of highly-qualified Pakistanis living a good life in USA. There's absolutely zero reason for US to go against her and imprison her. Pakistani establishment is terrible but there's a reason they let US punish Afia. I am a Pakistani but if you go through her case as a neutral, then you would come to the same conclusion: she was guilty.
this was a really good interview. But i think it still leaves some questions unanswered.... Nobody likes an innocent being punished but there are many aspects about this lady that do point to she being a fundamentalist radical with violent tendencies (e.g. why would she open an p o box for an alqaeda terrorist??) I also think its not fully fair to her former husband to say that he(a well educated Dr. himself) implicated her in 'terrorism charges' just because he got divorced. If the courtesy of fair representation should be extended to her, a convicted felon, i think her husband deserves the same to say the least.
Great video... Highly informative and insightful. Though you missed my question.. some people including syed muzammil claimed she didnt fight her case, and refused to have a lawyer. It would have been nice to know the truth about that. But still a wonderful podcast. One of your very best. 👍

This was a great podcast Shahzad, but I just wish you would stop finishing his sentences, you are generally a great host, but here your eagerness was a bit over the top.
You also need to see a documentary on HBO regarding Abu Zubaida (hope I typed name right). He was cooperating with FBI, even recognized Mukhtar (Khaled Shaikh Muhammad), but CIA donkeys did what they always do - James Bond complex - and unnecessarily tortured him for many months. After seeing that documentary, I started to cry for Abu Zubaida. Love to you from 🇮🇳
How can a comedian + intellectual have connections with such high-profile folks? Shahzad, how do you do it? :) (PS: Not being sarcastic, offensive or allusive to anything. Rather, just trying to understand how networking works. Thanks)
@@ThePakistanExperience True that! :) On a serious note, just listening to you is sometimes so therapeutic and meanwhile the brain subconsciously learns a lot from you. :) The way you think about stuff, and the way you articulate things. Also, I must say that I disagree with you sometimes when you give women some biased leniency and edge in some things, but I think everybody's lived experience is different. Thanks
Please talk less during interview and let the guest speak. It bothers when you interrupt. But apart from that an amazing topic and amazing effort to bring to light the facts.
It is frustrating and infuriating how most Pakistanis gloss over the excesses of Pervez Musharraf who, by his own admission, sold innocent men women and children to the US for dollars. May he rot in the deepest pits of hell along with everyone who abetted him and all those who continue to idolise him. How do you even live with yourselves knowing all this?
I Generally love Shehzad's podcasts. But today I felt just to prove that he knows and he's done his research he kept on cutting the guest and kept on interjecting. I mean we know you are a learned person just chill let him speak and tell the stories.
Shahzad thank you for the interview, but please let the person you are asking questions speak and answer without interruption of jokes, facts or finishing his sentences.

As a listener who enjoys downloading and listening during my commute, I noticed that the flow of speech was somewhat disrupted by frequent interruptions. Please consider this as constructive feedback, aimed at enhancing the listening experience.
I normally really like your content, but the jokes in between were extremely off putting. i have never sympathised with Aafia Siddiqui, and this podcast somewhat changed my perspective of her, but your jokes in between her harrowing account trivialised what she has been through. Also, insnt Aafia an American citizen? if she is then why should theyPakistani gov be pleading her case and asking for her release?
Love you bro but this was a little hard to follow this because of the constant interruptions . You obviously know a lot about the case but we don’t and it became hard to follow when you completed his sentences for him

This was a great podcast Shahzad, but I just wish you would stop finishing his sentences, you are generally a great host, but here your eagerness was a bit over the top.
Fair 🙌
Only king can deliver these podcasts
🙌
King karlay ga 🤣
Thanks for so informative video
🙌
You also need to see a documentary on HBO regarding Abu Zubaida (hope I typed name right). He was cooperating with FBI, even recognized Mukhtar (Khaled Shaikh Muhammad), but CIA donkeys did what they always do - James Bond complex - and unnecessarily tortured him for many months. After seeing that documentary, I started to cry for Abu Zubaida. Love to you from 🇮🇳
Please note that he is Aafia’s defence lawyer. Can we have a counter interview with prosecution team ? 😅
Brilliant work 🎉
🙌
How can a comedian + intellectual have connections with such high-profile folks? Shahzad, how do you do it? :)
(PS: Not being sarcastic, offensive or allusive to anything. Rather, just trying to understand how networking works. Thanks)
I don’t. They reached out to me to come on the podcast 🙈
@@ThePakistanExperience But still, how can it be so congenial and sounds like you both go way back? :)
Ye bus meri vibe hay log easy hojatay hain 🤣
@@ThePakistanExperience True that! :) On a serious note, just listening to you is sometimes so therapeutic and meanwhile the brain subconsciously learns a lot from you. :) The way you think about stuff, and the way you articulate things. Also, I must say that I disagree with you sometimes when you give women some biased leniency and edge in some things, but I think everybody's lived experience is different. Thanks

“America ne kuttay paalay!
Wardi valay! wardi valay!”
Please talk less during interview and let the guest speak. It bothers when you interrupt. But apart from that an amazing topic and amazing effort to bring to light the facts.
It’s not an interview
Thanks
It is frustrating and infuriating how most Pakistanis gloss over the excesses of Pervez Musharraf who, by his own admission, sold innocent men women and children to the US for dollars. May he rot in the deepest pits of hell along with everyone who abetted him and all those who continue to idolise him. How do you even live with yourselves knowing all this?
You talk shit MC MF he only handed over Aq terrorist from ran from 🇦🇫to Pakistan had prize money so don’t chat shit bc if you don’t know madesachap
Does anyone know what book / publication is being referred to in this podcast?
I believe “In the Line of Fire” by Pervaiz Musharraf, majorly.
@@shifaburhan Did Clive himself write a book or document the Aafia case anywhere?
@@shifaburhan Thats not it
Finally got the video and cleared out many myth
🙌
Shehzad, my brother in Christ, why is the guest camera so out of focus?
🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Didn’t focus didn’t realize. Hiring a new videographer soon
I Generally love Shehzad's podcasts. But today I felt just to prove that he knows and he's done his research he kept on cutting the guest and kept on interjecting. I mean we know you are a learned person just chill let him speak and tell the stories.
Not to prove anything. To avoid repetition from other podcasts he’s done.
@@ThePakistanExperience Just felt it in some places otherwise really enjoyed the podcast and do love your work. Keep up the good work.
Thank you ❤️
Shahzad invited this guy over just to broadcast that he spent a couple years in the US
Maybe for you that would be a life achievement, for me it’s not a big deal that I need to show off
Are you for real? Rofl. Kabhi embassay nai dekhi kia US ki? US tu kia dekha ho ga. Weird comment
Meanwhile faizan used chatgpt to help him comment on the video 😂

waiting for your video on ismail dahiri confession about benazir Bhutto murder.
Shahzad thank you for the interview, but please let the person you are asking questions speak and answer without interruption of jokes, facts or finishing his sentences.
It’s not an interview. Check our bio we don’t do interviews. We do conversations
@@ThePakistanExperience I appreciate the format of conversation and find it engaging. As a listener who enjoys downloading and listening during my commute, I noticed that the flow of speech was somewhat disrupted by frequent interruptions. Please consider this as constructive feedback, aimed at enhancing the listening experience.
Thanks for the feedback 🙌
I normally really like your content, but the jokes in between were extremely off putting. i have never sympathised with Aafia Siddiqui, and this podcast somewhat changed my perspective of her, but your jokes in between her harrowing account trivialised what she has been through.
Also, insnt Aafia an American citizen? if she is then why should theyPakistani gov be pleading her case and asking for her release?
Why not Clive’s jokes then? Why just mine?
@@ThePakistanExperience Don't get me started on him.
No she's only Pakistani citizen
Shahzad keeps on interrupting the guest. Does not even let him complete a single sentence. This is so irritating.
Love you bro but this was a little hard to follow this because of the constant interruptions . You obviously know a lot about the case but we don’t and it became hard to follow when you completed his sentences for him
Feedback taken 🙌
Well worth watching ❤❤❤

1:53:40 Mr Smith believes whats happening to Imran Khan is a disaster and is happy that the US Congress tells the ISI not to kill him, but here we have Mr Shahzad abusing Imran Khan day in and day out. I hope Shahzad learns something fron this.
