Excellent sound and rhymes ! Very romatic melodias, and I thought the British were not good at this type music. I was born in 1938 in the Canary Islands, and I still remember this type of music in the 40s.. Saludos desde Texas!!
thank you, friend or friend, because remembering, is to live, in many aspects, all past time, it was much better and especially in music, again thank you, and God bless you
The recording technique had surely come a long way alredy in 1936. This sounds so clear and with such a full range. Real High Fidelity already in the 30s!
Yes, it had. Even by the late twenties, the sound was clear and wide range. Good condenser and ribbon microphones were being used, and the vacuum valve/tube amplifiers were excellent. The problem back then was in the medium (the limitations of the disc material) and in most reproducing players of the day. The heavy tone arms and incompliant steel needles ruined most copies. The problem for us today is in finding copies that have not been played or played very little.
Wonderful selection , some new to me.Got' Where There's You There's Me ' stuck in my brain , what a cracking number and brilliant arrangement !, thanks so much .
Oh, no. It all happened in 1936. Things were starting to look up even though the Depression was still on. They knew there might be a war but were hoping it would somehow disappear. I was three and 1936 was fun.

"Pennies from Heaven" was a fantastic TV-series by Dennis Potter from BBC from the 70s, which included much of this brittish dance music from the 30s.
Very elegant and very British. I love it. Vera Lynn would have only been in her teens when she sang about Poor Little Angeline.
Great selection of most enjoyable musical treats.
Thank you for sharing.
Very pleased you like it!
Lively selection very enjoyable.
A superb compilation of exquisite brittish dance music from the golden era! And superb sound restoration, too! Thank you!

1936 - an in-between period and the year I was born ! I didn't think 1936 had as many good tunes as you have published !
Ooooo, yes it did!

Oh my word there were. I was only a toddler when these came out but, I can't remember hearing them on the radio. Not all, but most.
Great music with excellent sound and perfect video accompaniment. Thank you for sharing!

Another wonderful selection from 1936 with interesting visuals to match the songs. Thank you, Panachord!
Favourite? Which to choose? Wonderful selection, great entertainment for a chilly winter night.
Good that you enjoy them all! I certainly like each and every one.
Spectacular set in sound to match! My favorite is Fox's "These Foolish Things,' but I also especially like the Ambrose, Mantavoni and Wilbur sides.
"These Foolish Things" is played to perfection.
As originally written, it had a four-bar bridge, as in this version.
Thanks again.l
Thankss again
thanks
One, two, button your shoes was not from that series, it was from the real Pennies From Heaven, 1936, it’s Bing Crosby.
Were there compressors, or limiters (for the sound) in 1936?
I don't know
