- We managed to sneak OOOONE small preview to Steven's Nightmare in Friday Night Funktion! I had been indecisive on what to show because I wanna be careful to not spoil anything we have planned. But since this song is really early in the experience and mainly comprises of ideas you guys have seeeen.... I decided to release the demo of the track! Can't wait for guys to hear more of the soundtrack later~!

I love the softness of Stevens voice during the “she’s gone” part. almost like he thinks if he talks too loud she’ll stab him. but then he gets frustrated and yells, likely agitating pearl even more
i think "SHE'S GONE" is pink steven screaming angrily after pearl took steven's gem out, like "change your mind" episode
I think mabey 🤔 in that moment Steven turned into his pink form from the final episode of the diamond days series as he gets more and more angry with pearl trying to kill him in the hopes that it will bring back her beloved rose
I imagine that at the end of the song that pearl will finally get it through her twisted mind that “she’s gone” and realize the horrifying atrocity she just committed

@@ferbancos4215 another idea I have is when pearl tried to remove Steven’s gem when he was a baby, he pushed it to the back of his subconscious and it manifested into this dream after the events of roses scabbard.
@@ferbancos4215 that's actually a pretty good theory because I don't think it's farfetched for Steven to have a nightmare about Pearl wanting Rose back over him. One horror film + a trumatic event like the whole Rose's Scabbard episode could give him a nightmare such as this
Fun Fact: In the episode "Three Gems and a Baby", Pearl doesn't take the gem from Baby Steven not because she feels sorry for him, but because she couldn't reveal the secret that Rose and Pink Diamond are the same to the other gems.

The use of lines from the show is incredible. The lines go from the context of Pearl simply having the small hope that Rose is in Steven’s gem to full on desperation and insanity as she’s 100% certain Rose is there. And the use of “She’s Gone” fits so well with the beat of the song, while also serving as a reminder that Rose REALLY isn’t with them. Pearl isn’t right, which makes it worse seeing her so crazed over it. I don’t know if all that was intentional, but I still think it’s wicked.
Edit: Also love how the background is primarily pink.
Just realized when Pearl says "you're too important" before Steven screams at her is her most likely fully falling for her delusion, implying that she believes she's arguing with Rose herself to set her free. Causing Steven to scream at her- Man this Demo is beautiful. Can't wait for the release!

So thats just a saying Pearl was probably on the verge of becoming a psychotic maniac for Rose in secret, soon being unable to control herself and weighing all this trauma on a 15-year old, all because she believes they can bring her back. (From what I think and read so far of Pearl, not actual info I’ve gotten from the creator but the audio and voicelines say otherwise.)
What if I looking into the future she was looking through the scenarios then she sees this situation. Wouldn't she atleast check on steven just I. Case or she might've just though there's no way pearl was do that.

Imagining if she never came to senses in the show, how terrifying it would be because he'd have one more gem coming for Pink/Rose and not know how to help it. Especially because she always thought if she tried hard enough he'd end up like her and she'd have her back. Imagine how on edge Garnet would have to be around Pearl to be sure that she doesn't hurt Steven again. It would be so scary my god.

Towards the end, you can hear Steven groaning and yelling in pain as Pearl screams "Why won't you let me do this for you Rose!?" Shes probably cut most of it out, and Steven is resisting.

I mean out of all the gems pearl is the most likely to go legitimately insane. Amethyst is too chill and garnet is level headed for the most part but usually in situations like that she either splits or just becomes like a statue until she’s finally decided

•a deep purple like color constantly is splattered in the back, showing that throughout the song since the start pearl (I think that’s her name-) is pushing the dagger into stevens stomach to get it out.

I think for the rest of the song ( Or another song ), Amethyst will come in due to hearing all the noise ( And singing ) and when she see's what's going on, she tries to defend Steven and sing with him for a bit before getting poofed and/or shattered by pearl.
Edit: I saw the "Steven Im hungry" Twitter post so now I think this is not so likely. It's still a good idea though.

I was thinking of a game mechanic that could go well with this song or even more that has the same gimmick:
Hitting space will turn your hitting notes (Your left, up, down, notes) into dodging notes. An animation would be played to what mode your in.
The NPC has to be in attacking mode for dodging mode to do anything. Once the NPC is in attacking mode and starts singing notes, you have to mimic the notes on your side, note that there will be no visible notes on your side to hit.
To counteract people who would just be in dodging mode the entire time, they cannot hit notes while they are dodging mode. The notes would be hollowed out to indicate that your in dodging mode
Example: Once hitting space, Steven could go from a horrified idle animation, to a PROTECT MYSELF AT ALL COSTS animation. Pearl would lick her knife before going into attack mode, giving the player enough time to go into dodging mode. Missing a dodge note takes off 2x the amount a normal note would. It doesn't sound like a lot, but if they start attacking a flurry of notes at you then its pretty much over.
I'd love to see this implemented!

Where you would have to press the enemy notes to dodge when you're not singing
I would imagine Stevens gem taking form, seeing Stevens body and would just look at pearl and say in Roses voice "I'm *gone* Pearl. Now *he* is to." And then would just carry Stevens body to the shore to relish what a view Steven was missing.
The voicelines are used so well!
They make this song sound super intense as well as beautiful.

I wonder if Steven will temporarily unfuse for a few seconds because part where its "Shes Gone" might be where Pearl ripped stevens gem and Stevens gem reforming into it being still Steven and that rose/pink isn't there anymore and her still telling her self shes got to be there but Stevens gem keeps saying she's gone until it yells re fusing into Steven again like that one episode where white ripped it out but this one with a more twisted version of that episode in this song that being Pearl.

The use of voices are amazing! the pearl even though she's totally insane, she still sings like an angel, and when Steven says "SHE'S GONE!" I've never had so much goosebumps with a song by Fnf, Jakeneutron for me, and the best fnf composer I've ever seen, I look forward to this mod and /Pibby!
At that she's gone part I could imagine steven trying to reason with pearl until either he gets mad or pink steven is attempting to protect steven.
And the end of the song could be steven barely avoiding a potentially lethal blow and running off as pearl yells for him... for rose.
Just watching the entire Steven Universe series a few weeks ago, I can already tell this mod is gonna be good

Imagine the "she's gone" part is after pearl successfuly killing steven a stress butterfly tells her "she's gone" then the stress butterflies form Steven's mad face going "SHES GONE"

Yeah the second one is better but what about those 3 other "she's gone", would it be garnet telling her that rose is dead because she killed steven or still the butter flies
IDEA: He wouldn't be dead (not then, anyway), but 2 butterflies would fly out of either Steven's mouth or gem for the first 3 "She's gone...." lines, and then when he yells the 4th, he turns pink for a brief moment and a ton of butterflies fly out, and after that the background changes to the orange void near the end of Mindful Education and said butterflies are flying around the 2, and at the very end it would flicker back to Steven's room as he screams.
Also idea from another commenter: Pearl's note animations should be ballet moves, it'd match her whole vibe of what's left of the grace from her original personality (alongside her voice)

yes! Oh my gosh I could see classic Steven unleashing his pink self early trying to protect himself from pearl
This is a pretty short but fun one, one of the best you've done from concept to semi-execution.
Firstly, I love the concept. It's such an obvious alternate universe that no one really thinks about, but it did come up in the show and she thought about doing it. Overtime she seemed to move on from that, even after everyone knew about Rose. However, what if she didn't? Such a cool concept that idk why you hadn't finished it or continued.
Secondly, I love the symbolism in the cutscene. She hears fairly reasonable voices, but in case people hadn't noticed, these voices resemble the Diamonds at first, perhaps White Diamond above all, then, Steven steps in at the very last moment, his voice becomes clear and loud, telling Pearl that Rose is really gone. It was as if she was saying it the whole time, trying to pull himself together which is why the speech was low until the end.
Thirdly, following onto the symbolism is the art itself. I would be surprised if this was accidental but she appears to have six fingers as if she's turning into Ford from Gravity Falls. Someone mentioned this in the comments and went on about how she was losing control of her form due to insanity, which is a very nice touch! Speaking of insanity, I love how she laughs at random points instead of following a pattern. It throws me off in the best way, lol.
Anyway, this is amazing and I just can't stop listening to it. I'm genuinely surprised I had only just came across this. You did an awesome job!

You know, thinking about this situation if pearl were to succeed in this she would be devastated because Steven had his gem get removed and what formed from it was just a fully pink version of him that was seemingly emotionless and very destructive and it that happens here and then suddenly pearl snaps back to her senses not only will she have possibly killed Steven and shattered any and all companions with the others she would have realised that her actions were pointless in the end because rose is gone and only a emotionless Steve exists now
Imagine this but the other gems get involved to save Steven

The part where pearl saying that rose is not gone like the after math of pearl ripping Steven's gem out and pink steven reforming yelling that rose is gone and pearl getting to her senses and realizing what she's done to steven. crying to her self and no one else there but her and pink steven and Steven's corpe on the floor and pink steven yelling at her that Steven's gone and can't fix him "HES GONE ,HES GONE"!!!

Theory: The way you unlock this song is to become a shatterer and shatter atleast 3-5 gems (in their respective songs). When you do that you will hear pearl laugh maniacally as she cuts the screen open as a transition to the song. If you spare pearl at the end of the song she will kill you and if you shatter her a cutscene will play (idk what the cutscene would be)
