Terror Formars was great because it was kind of silly, and terrifying and the author wasn't afraid to kill anyone. The first season anime adaptation wasn't great but it wasn't bad either I don't know what anyone was thinking with season 2. Somehow they managed to turn a psycho-action thriller vibe into one that was more like a high school slice-of-life vibe.
I guess that’s why some people hate it, they tried to apply scientific knowledge on science fiction. As a result, some people are triggered cause how ridiculous it is
No it was terrible. It started good and all with the way the first 2 expeditions failed but the third one was ridiculous. Suddenly they can fly into space to attack them before they land and then they keep building characters up just to have them one shot in the next panel. It was so poorly written.
I think the issue is that they started getting away from some of the brutality of the first seasons and by the last one, it felt like a different show. Its really too bad because it could have been awesome if they could have actually brought the series to a conclusion and kept the same energy of the first season, Dark and brutal
so, every character is completely fine and overpowering the opponent until they inevitably get a sad flash back in the middle of a fight and takes a hit while standing still

Yea they actually show the roach holding her decapitated head honestly the the whole first season of this anime is brutal and gory they did a good job portraying it now I can’t speak for the second season cause I haven’t finished it I dropped it for some reason but can’t remember why

I swear it seems like when there is only one season of an anime show, it's so much better. I loved the design of the alien roaches and the fight scenes were badass.

Its too bad this anime didn't continue. It was such an interesting anime with the idea of intelligent cockroaches and humans being spliced with specific earth animals that either gave them a huge advantage over the cockroaches or made them somewhat more useful as support. Such a clever concept and a shame the series was never able to be finished

Correction Peacock mantis shrimp is the strongest punch in the entire animal kingdom. So fast and so hard infact it created a small burst of explosion due to heat and velocity built by the punch when in motion and created an air bubble that shatters around it i.e usually shells or aquarium glass. I don't think the anime really put it in full detail. If a human possessed this it would literally be like one punch man 🤟🏽

Hi, to anyone interested in watching the series even further I strongly recommended reading the Manga. The anime skips a couple chapters early on (2 ovas cover some of the starting chapters but not all). I promise it gets even better than this. S2 messes up the watch order so I don't recommend watching that and instead go straight to the Manga. There's around 200 current chapters (author is currently on hiatus for being sick) but if you want to read the Manga I recommend starting at around chapter 50-55

The one thing I never understood about these anime was why everyone got so emotional about their sad pasts in the middle of a fight. Like if u really wanted to die on this mission then that's easy but they let their guards down so many times.
The live action only chronicles the early ova special amd has some hugely different undertones. The Manga and anime are more sociopolitical and bleak compared to the live action of which the anime starts after the ovas
I think the author just kind of gave up, and I completely understand him. Once they went to earth, it was just buying time seeing where he could take the story but there's not much to do anymore. Since there's so many stakes at play I kind of think there are many variables since it's a damned global invasion. Terra Formars has heavy political happenings in the background so when you have to put it on a global level against a common enemy of humanity, it becomes a clusterF. Nowadays the mangaka is doing another manga afaik.
Funny enough after seeing the recap of ther live action, it's interesting to see parts that it adapted and parts it embelished. So far though it better than netflix, so theres that.
THIS ANIME IS SO AWESOME. Thanks to you I discovered it. I finished first part/season. Also, just after I started watching it, I did travel on a vacation and I rent an appartement with my family, only to discover many roaches (BIG FLYING ones) on that appartement. I didn't sleep well that night but we killed like 6 of them, and we didn't have much choice. We got our money back and left at in the morning lmao. I'm kind of get startled scared when I see a flying cockroach especially. Because it's hard to kill. Anyway what I love about this anime, is there are some similarities with Jojo's Bizzare adventure somehow. Like the sound of the punches and when you just think some cockroach is escaping, they introduce some music with piano, and the protagonist says that he already caught it with his strings. Gives you those "Yare yare daze" vibes so much. Also Michelle is the best girl on the anime.

Season 1 was awesome Adolf's story was good and you really felt bad for these outmatched people going against these over evolved monsters that are stronger faster better and constantly are growing more intelligent and work in total cohesion

I recommend to read the Manga instead. S2 destroys the pacing and even messes up the order of the chapters by having like chapters 60-70 air after 70-90
