I wish you checked all the battles, but they're many one-sided or just not good enough battles. Of course you could watch compilations like "Top 10 Best Drops of GBB 2021 (Solo)", but I think it's boring to analyse them without build-up. And of course these compilations mostly don't include "battle" aspects like counters (copying rival's sounds or patterns) which are important. Because A. you can compare them and B. it's still fun to watch. So I recommend you the battles with great performances of both competitors. GBB 2021: - HISS vs River' - Colaps vs King Inertia (or Zekka) - King Inertia vs Helium GBB 2019: - D-Low vs Colaps - Tomazacre vs Codfish GBB 2018: - Codfish vs D-Low
Alexinho vs Two-H. Alexinho is a a mster rebutler when it comes to battles, he can copy most beats and makes fun of his opponents and downplays his opponents rounds. In his battle vs Two-H, Two-H uses a technique barely anyone knew about (inward voice) and everyone is surprised (including Two-H) when Alexinho can do the same technique.
As a drummer, I think you would love Zer0’s GGB elimination, he is so technical with the drums and rarely makes timing mistakes, it’s just a pleasure to listen to his style.
@@Unofficial_JimI think zer0 has the absolute most precise sounding classic style drum rolls and drum patterns... and I think Tony would really appreciate hearing it
Since you appreciated Alexinho you should check out his legendary 2v2 battle Uniteam vs Kotcha, Uniteam is two World Champs Alexhino and Alem who both specialize in complex percussion patterns.
Man i hope i represent a lot of people when i say i appreciate you pausing and taking your time analysing the video, it gives it more meaning and sense and its so cool to hear you call out things you pick up as a drummer.
You could see this battle meant a lot to footboxg because alexinho was the reigning world champion at the time (from the OTHER biggest beatbox battle in the world) and it's poetic cause footboxg just won the world champs himself earlier this month
5:07 there is a huge story behind this sound Alexinho used, in fact he originally took it from Pacmax (french beatboxer) against him during a battle, it was the most insane counter ive ever seen and Alexinho destroyed Pacmax during that epic battle.
FootboxG pulled off some really crazy combos and special sounds which in itself is already scoring points. It then comes to things like consistency, power/loudness of the sound in which he delivered as well. He is able to create a complete song that gets the crowd wild. And these are just some of the many judging points
Alexinho hasnt taken a battle seriously since he won world champs, but he is definitely one of the best beatboxers in the world in terms of raw talent. The kind of talent when the work ethic suffers because hes never really had to work hard. Anyways, you should watch some of highlights from when he won the world championships. He was a different animal then, very focused. Or watch any of his stuff with Uniteam, uniteam is alexinho with alem, and i think alem was one of the first guys you reacted to.
Man... I love ur analysis so much, i think everyone who likes beatbox and who is watching your reaction enjoy the fact that u not just listening to cool sounds) keep this type of videos alive pls!❤🩹
5:25 That is feedback from the mic, not whistle. 12:46 "That's actually a big fish." One of FootboxG'd main sounds he calls a fish snare. (Because you make a fsh sound with your lips and a slight vocalized i sound underneath) So here Alexhino is making big long powerful fish snares. Alexhino was one of Footboxg's biggest inspirations to start beatboxing in the first place, which why he cried when he won.
If you go back and check Alexhino's second round you might find that it was actually a diss track of FootboxG's second round. He took all of his sounds and just shat on them 😂 love this space
About ranking system. Before the whole battle competition you have to pass the elimination round after which you get ranked. At the GBB 2021 there were 26 beatboxers and 16 of them had passed the elims. Then beatboxers had been paired according their rank. 1st place vs 16th, 2nd vs 15th and etc. So if you are ranked higher than your battle opponent, you can go 1st or 2nd.
1:14 - that inhumane bass note is called "liproll" (or inward lip bass). It's approximately the most popular bass and in the video we see one of its variations called "sub-bass".
This is the second video ive watched from you and you have a new sub! Got to say this is one of the better reactions I've seen from a non beatboxer appreciating and understanding tbe art melodicaly and rhythmically. Love tour teavtion and interpretation. Look forward to seeing more 👍
Before the recommendation, I tell you that one of the possible factors why footbox g wins is that in terms of clean sounds it is more than Alexinho, as well as the originality of his style, those out there are strong factors for which I take the victory Even so, despite not knowing much, you said very interesting things and I'm glad. I recommend the following battles of this same competition. Colaps vs Zekka (technically it is the best for me) King inertia vs Helium (interesting sounds and styles) Colaps vs KIng Inertia I also recommend a Tag team elimination at an absurd technical level Middle school elimination Greetings from Argentina!!
From what ive seen the judging is based on what each judge is looking for. One judge may be looking for switch ups within the beat, while the other is looking specifically for delivery. One may be looking for timing and connection with the crowd while the other is looking for technicality and difficulty
Judging criteria include technicality, cleanliness, originality, musicality and other areas. So while Alexinho did cool rhythmical things his structure was kinda random and Footboxg was cleaner and more musical/original (imo)
D-Low actually did reviews and explanations of the judges' decisions for each round on his channel. Might be something to check out sometime to see what the judges are really looking for. He did the same for all battles he judged.
Im very glad you like my suggestion and it really enjoyed watching it with you! Ill fell free to recomend some more stuff. Best of lucks!
If you see to the end you could see Footboxg is holding tears. The context is Footboxg is from Belgium which is a close from France. You see France got a bigger beatbox community than Belgium. A lot of time footboxg as an up and coming talent had to lose in a competition to french beatboxer. Years later footboxg become a lot better and beat a world and national camp Alexinho.
you dont have to apologize every time you pause the video, if anyone wanna watch it without any pause just let them go to the original video, for me and most of us we enjoy more when you take a time to understand whats goin' on in the video.
In case you misunderstand alexinho was the previous champion of world championships cause the latest world champs(before the 2023 one) is 2018 he wasnt the champion of the previous gbb(2019)
There’s a popular anime called K-on from the 2010’s about a high school band, you should react to their song “Go! Go! Maniac” it’s a bit of a hidden gem, goes surprisingly hard for no reason ♨️ Same with their OP, ‘Cagayake!GIRLS’
You should watch Trung bao and chiwawa - 50 types on of inward drag - shows a lot of common names and terms for the sounds they are making. It also shows how technical they are
Footbox creates his routines a bit like theoretical drummers jot down manuscripts. He actually like writes down if I not mistaken on music sheets or something of that practice
If you're into drums and beatboxing i can recommend a video called "The best Beatboxers in VRchat" and only the Slykku parts (bird on a drum set). Haven't heard anyone coming even close to Slykku's drum patterns in terms of realism. Just my opinion tho
the video shakes arent edited in btw!its just how strong his sub bass is. this is likely becuase of how big the venue was,you can really notice it during two-h's elimination round
im pretty sure alexhino freestyled hos two rounds, he basically gave him footbox a chance to showcase whatever it is that he wanted to showcase and alexxhino just piggybacked off what he heard from footbox which is why in his second round he copied his sound and performed it better as a freestlye. im not sure where i go this info i could be wrong but heard it somewhere in one of the beatboxers videos
This was a very close battle, either of them could have taken it... but because footboxg had original material and perfect execution goes a long ways. Judges really like prepared routines these days. Where as to the trained ear you can hear that Alexinho was freestyling most of the time.. the 2nd round was just a giant counter which Alexinho is one of the best at doing counters, but it wasnt enough... had footbox made any noticeable mistakes he may not have won

Hi @DrumRollTonyReacts I wanna recommend you a beatbox track called "who cares" by Alexinho and Hiss. I think you will love it! Love to watch your videos, cheers from Slovakia! 🍻 🇸🇰
FootboxG won because eventho alexinho showed a lot of crazy sounds and rhythms, it was just all over the place and there wasn't really a structured round it all just felt like a freestyle.
Writing this comment as I go. But stand by these being the best beatbox reaction vids which I enjoyed some of the other reaxr content as much but these always bring me back. Also. People don’t usually get mad at being in each others face it’s a mutually recognized thing like in rap battles as long as someone’s not being to excessive 😂. Also you could borderline be a judged with how well you break down and appreciate beats even knowing nothing about beatboxing. Also that camera shake was not an added effect. Also I disagree with the verdict in this battle lowkey but most of what your saying and considering is spot in what judges take in consideration among other things
The defining factor was FootBoxG's cleanliness. In some of the hard technical parts alexinho's drums weren't as sharp and defined as FootBoxG's (for example the inward Ks during the last beat of the first round were weak). Also FootBox's rounds were more thematically coherent. It seemed to me like alexinho was freestyling at times while footbox had his rounds planned out from beginning to end.
What battle video should I check out next?
Helium vs inertia
inertia vs colaps just because how much u like drum patern there is a routine from colaps called "precision" check it out
