(upon looking further, this seems to be because one can only push the wheels so far out before the plastic surrounding the wheel catches the ground) 4) And stopping / power sliding would be really hard due to that same plastic. But more problematic due to the fact that stepping off is more difficult.
Orbit wheels have some benefits. They can go over much rougher terrain, you can step off about as easily as freeline skates, and they have faster turning. You're right about them being slower, and they are very tiring to ride. Personally though, I prefer my orbit wheels since they're a lot safer. The first time I used freeline skates I face planted on a bump I regularly ride over on my orbit wheels.

Nope, it is not the same thing. These are big wheels around your feet. A ripstick has small wheels and it's a board where you stand on. Also the ripstick has a piece in the middle that is flexible. I can ride the ripstick, but I have lots of trouble with the Orbit Wheels... You can't just say the're the same, because there's alot of difference between those two things.
