Hi! I am from Zamboanga City, a kid that grew up speaking Chavacano and I believe Chavacano will never be forgotten although not studied. Big percent of the population of Zamboanga City can speak chavacano fluently and even though they can't speak fluently but still they understand it.

Am learning Spanish too. And the good news is that my aunt lives in Zamboanga; however we live apart. Though there is a Chabacano Bible in my uncle's bookshelf, it's still hard to read.
I'm a Tausug but I know how to speak Chavacano. Zamboangenyo Chavacano to be specific.. I was born at Jolo but I started schooling at Zamboanga. The difference between Cavite and Zamboanga, when the chavacano dialect is concern, is that Zamboanga City really uses Chavacano every day. When you go to pueblo(Town proper), almost all can speak chavacano fluently and even the city officials would highly encourage all the people of zamboanga to speak chavacano. That's maybe why the chavacano in cavite is slowly dying out, which I think is a loss. Being a person who can understand and speak chavacano, I' am quite proud of it and I have grown to it. And I' am a proud that I can speak a language that some of the zamboangenyos speak in the old days.
In Mexico and some Central American countries we say "platicar" (in Spanish). Most spanish speakers don't use that word, it feels nice that is used in Chabacano de Zamboanga too!

Animal hahaha bueno ta resulya pa hahaha
Wow galing
If someone reads this from this day forward please let me know how to contact the mr Escalante or where to buy the book. I am interested on learning the chabacano language (cavite) and looking forward to form a group of people inside cavite who's interested on bringing back the language to fellow Caviteños.
Mag pacontest sa pagsasalita ng chavacano.
Sir Ike Escalante died few years ago. We have Caviteño/Ternateño chabacano group in FB called "SoloChabCav".
I say dialect just because it's considered dialect in Spanish speaking countries
Sa Zamboanga City, there are 890,000 Chavacano speakers.
Watching this in 2017, and I wonder where can I buy those Chavacano books.
I think only in Cavite City and Ternate Cavite
Vamos amigos ariba..

Hey for the native speaker of chavacano. I suggest to work in a BPO industry or call center in Spanish and english language. It gives you a good carrer and a GOOD pay.
Kahit mga bata nagsasalita ng chavacano so hindi to mawawala sa amin. So sad nawawala na dian sa cavite.
Wow ang Galing mo Boy Bravo
When the spanish subject was dropped in college curriculum , enthusiasm follows, but honestly speaking,I don’t see any significance on our daily lives per se.,not until I stumble on this kind of vlog that explain the contribution of Spanish era to the Filipino culture.
