I run a similar setup in my race car. One lav mic next to the air box in the engine bay, one in a similar position to what you have. Then i feed them into my box as 1 channel each which can then be mixed. Helps pick up ambient noise (without wind) and induction too. Good luck with the channel.

Love the idea of one in the engine bay to get induction noise! *heads off to your channel to look for examples*

😊 Thank you @reachforthesky, you are too kind. Suspension is stock Bilsteins, but I have had it setup and corner weighted for me. I’ve got a print out of the settings if you’re interested in that level of detail? I might be able to post a very short video of them?

I copied this exactly, works a charm, thank you! How do you run permanent power to the camera though? Do you run a USB cable out the 12v round to the camera? I didn’t notice a power in on the media mod, is it the mini usb in? Love your videos sir

Hello! Thanks for the kind comments 😍 I have a USB socket in the rear bulkhead, although before that was fitted I just used to run a really long USB cable from the cigar lighter to the GoPro.

BTW @itissnippy - circa 2:19 in, you can see the two, long, USB cables running out of the cigar lighter and back via the passenger seat. At a few seconds later, at 2:25, you can see the blue USB-C plug going into the GoPro media mod.

Good video, I have the same problem, do you have to alter any settings on the go pro to activate external mic?

Neh. It should just pick it up and all’s good 👍

Can you give details of the GoPro mount please?

Hello @Richard Early. Yes, they're by Smallrig… www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B088YRD5G4/ I tend to use them without the arm, just mounting the GoPro as close to the clamp as I can (you can see it clearly at 2:23). This makes it so stable you don't even need the GoPro stabilisation stuff on (that's the swaying from side to side you see on a lot of videos - it makes me feel seasick 🤣)
