Felt like some kind of badass movie, the only thing that felt different than a "murican" movie and more like something from a horror film was the flood encounters. To make a good halo TV series or movies the first thing that creators need to left behind is the badass monster kicking attitudes from the principal series and focus on the most serious games like ODST, reach and wars.

Looking back, this intro is one of the best of Halo. It gives the true feeling of desperation and grim determination that the UNSC felt in the Covenant War. And watching the Spirit of Fire slowly glide through a debris field of wrecked ships with the chorus in the background gives a very chilling and somber feel to it as well. Such an underrated game, the story was top notch for what it was.
Chase Scott well yeah. They are a special operations, throwing them in the front line would be a waste. They strike at high value targets to support the movement of an army.

Despite being outnumbered, outgunned and technologically crippled at times, The UNSC managed to pull through. Halo is truly a tragic story of the loss of billions upon billions of human lives and thousands of colonies. All this loss made being human just a little more special. Rest in peace to the victorious dead.

The number of asteriod colonies and stations must be huge if its even mentioned in the canonical background for the UNSC (the interplanery wars.)

Marines in this cutscene are just badass as fuck. This game deserves more love. Skirmish is just to good even with bots it really feels like you are fighting a tough and dangerous enemy Because the bots in this are so smart
Seeing this intro makes me wish for a fps halo game from the perspective of a marine, where you and a squad of marines take on missions and encounter enemies, where grunts and Jackals aren't just cannon fodder but actual considerable adversaries, and Elites are actual wave bosses that require cooperation and teamwork and plenty of skill to take down, and hunters are even more so, I personally would love a niddy griddy halo game like that
Ayo, a Halo Tactical shooter would slap hard as hell. Something in the vein of republic commando, but where even on the easiest difficulty, you see the odds the marines had to face

Not really. They explained its mostly due to technological reasons. They have cutter modeled after its voice actor. Only downside for is that he sounds young.

The only bad things about this cutscene is it shows Minors using energy swords, otherwise its amazing. I still give it a 10/10, I wish we got an entire movie or show in this style.

At first we were doing great but then, delay after delay. What was meant to be a quick and profitable game became 5 years of hell. Microsoft disbanded Ensemble Studios, quiet literally when the game was complete. The company went defunct in January ‘09 and the game saw it’s first launch in Australia February ‘09. An American release didn’t come till March. It really sucks that they were brought on the team only to be hated by Bungie for “Whoring out the franchise”. They had to make the assets from scrap, using only reference material. Microsoft was pissed that they wouldn’t crunch like Bungie did and when all was said and done, they were fired.

i know one thing there is a lot of inconsistencies with this game and the lore. for starters the spartans didnt have the mjolnir armor yet. they didnt get the armor until a little before sam died which was way after this and even then they didnt have shields (those came out shortly before Reach was invaded). also the spartans were never involved in the harvest campaign period nor did the UNSC even know about the covenant especially to this extent since harvest was the first contact with the covenant and harvest was glassed before any real response could be done. theres a few more but i think ive been knit picky enough. sorry i had to say it xD
Sam died in 2525. The game takes place in 2531, 6 years after he died, the Spartans would’ve received MK IV by then. The Spartans weren’t on Harvest either- they’re only involved in the game from Arcadia and onwards.

In some books minors had swords. Some were just richer than others so they went out of their way to get one.
