So, my 6y old female cat with an already diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, suffered in between January 2020 to may 2020 a weird disease. She had a constant fever that wouldn’t go down even with meds, she stopped eating and had trouble breathing and began isolating herself, later on she began necrosis on the tip of her ears and she lost them. My vet told me it was most likely one of two things, leishmaniasis or PIF. Both had a terrible outcome for my cat, but with steroid treatment she began to get better and is now, healthy, has regained weight and is very happy again. We don’t know if what she had was PIF, but she survived.
My best friend went throught the same this week... she shared to me her concerns on monday, she hadn't moved from the couch for previous 24 hours and she wasn't playfull like she was a couple weeks ago.. she was in the vet by the next day, tuesday morning, blood screens showed liver damage, she was hospitalized, pluged on catethers for fluid and force fed by tube... Tursdays news were that fluid was in her abdomen and a sonogram was needed in another specialized clinic, no appointments available before 5 more days. Unfortunatly on friday morning, the kitty's health had degrated to the point that she had no more muscle tone, and that she would not make it out of it and that we should come say her goodbyes and let her go.. 3 minutes after being in my friends arms, while the vet was in the back preparing the sedation, she gave her last breath and we both saw her soul leave her eyes, we knew. We imidiatly call a technician who then called the vet who confirmed she had died, naturally, in the arm of her mommy. This happened yesterday. I am still completly shooked by what we have experienced in such a short period of time. Her cats are her babies as she doesn't desire to have any children .. The cat was adopted 7 months ago from a rescue shelter, where she probably came in contact with this disease.. we hope her 2 other cats wont developpe this as they were really close. This disease is horrible...

yes the virus can lay dormant for years. I have heard of senior age cats showing symptoms. Thankfully. there is now treatments for the disease and is no longer the death sentence it once was. They are still in " experimental phase" but pet owners can get access to them. it is expensive so some pet owners may not be able to afford them, but they are available. There is a Facebook group that operates in the US and the UK with people who specialize in the disease and can help pet owners get the treatment because veterinarian can not sell it themselves because it has not been completely approved by organizations such as the FDA.
My cat has FIPV and vet says he will die in couple of months and did not prescribed any medicines. I dont know what to do... let me know anything if i can do for my cat...some medicine or anything. I will ne grateful
Glixx pharmaceuticals GC376 is the med that you will have to inject. Vets are not legally allowed to tell you this. Research it and join FIP Facebook group for help. I found out to late and my baby died two days ago.
lil Put aye bro just know sometimes it can be a misdiagnosis, my cat has actually made almost a full recovery, barring any horrible luck he should be ok!
@@Queens1106 I read about that one also but when you are desperate and giving absolutely no options you take what you can actually get a hold of. Glixx offers a compound that has been shown as effective and only two states away. I looked for both. My vet told me there is no blood test or treatment so I had to look for answers myself. I could have mentioned both but I only wanted to mention what I actually found to be available for purchase that has great results.
Not really no. So this is a form of a coronavirus and all Cats can get them and they poop it out without problems. ONLY when this harmless virus changes and mutate you get FIP and this mutation is so random it is very unusual to happen twice in one household
hi, I have a question. my cat had FIP about 6 weeks ago and he has its symptoms for two weeks; it's a month that he's totally ok with no signs of FIP does it mean that he defeated this virus and won't get it again ???
Then it was probably not FIP. FIP does not go away, you have to treat it with GS441524, this is the only treatment available that can cure FIP, if not, FIP is fatal. PS: FIP is hard to diagnose, errors in diagnosis occur.
@@bucaneromax1 you are all brainwashed into believing there are injections who will CURE a VIRUS. Either cat survives it or not. But go on give GS more money, otherwise your cat will die. Thats whats promoted. Watch this comment get deleted
