For anyone else looking for this...
To disable tamper protection, these are the steps (I was in the same position):
1. On the control panel, Press the PR key, enter your user code, followed by the tick.
2. The control unit is now in programming mode, Select Devices +/-, the Program Siren and Siren Tamp. Off using the up and down keys.
3. Press tick when in the Siren Tamp. Off menu and the control unit will beep followed by an acknowledgement pip from the siren.
The siren tamper will now be disabled for 1 hour after which it will auto arm again.
Also, when you've put the batteries in and switch the siren box from off to on again, it'll automatically turn the Siren Tamp on, so you'll need to repeat the above process before fitting the front back on the siren (or do it really carefully - I didn't take the risk). Hope this helps a next confused person, just like I was. 👍
HELP!!!HOW DO YOU STOP THE ALARM AFTER SWITCHING IT BACK ON
Make sure the new batteries are ALKALINE and of the same make. Mixing batteries of different brands will result in the fault LED to stay on and the control unit beep.
What would be useful to know and have a video on is what happens if after changing a battery you do somehow trigger a Tamper alert on the main unit and despite repeated attempts to "clear" it it doesn't go away. Whenever you try to activate the alarm it comes up and gives you the option to force arm. How do you clear a persistent Tamper alert?!
Did you figure out how to stop the alarm?
How the F can you do a video about how to change bateries and not include the procedure to "Switch off Temper protection" ! crazy
How do I know which battery needs changing do I need it armed to find out
How do you turn the tamper back on for PIR battery change
I’m at this stage, how do you switch off tamper protection and do you need to do that to change batteries in the pir battery?
Hope this link helps www.yslhelpdesk.co.uk/how-to-change-batteries-on-telecommunicating-alarm/
If the tamper comes on after changing battery and doesn't go away, save yourself some time and just buy a new sensor as the tamper aspect of it is knackered. That's why you can't get rid tamper alert! Alternatively try a hard reset on back of main unit before buying a new sensor.
My alarm says:
DC BACK
Low Battery
What is DC BACK? I have no idea which batteries to change
It’s a name that was entered by whom ever installed your system. It’s a door contact sensor probably at the back of the house?
@@angelotardugno6400 Yes I worked it out in the end, it was the sensor at he door at the back of the house. We bought the house a couple years ago and the alarm was already there.
@@bentaye it makes sense, I honestly looked at the video as I had to change the battery of the IR sensor and had no idea how to disable the tampering, still don’t know how to do it TBH, but I think I’ve succeeded
why say "switch off tamper protection" when not saying how to do this? otherwise great video but without this useless
He does explain to enter programming mode on the control panel which deactivates tamper alarm. Also, for instance when changing a battery in external wall siren the programming mode will deactivate by the time you have completed the procedure so either need to be careful replacing cover or re-enter programming mode and resume fitting cover.
@@andyc1909 Does 'tamper siren - on' means allowing you to tamper the siren without it going off or does it mean it set the tamper siren on, so that if you tamper with it, the siren will goes off?
It is because I changed the batteries today and I set it to 'tamper siren - off' but when I was putting the cover back on with some movement, the alarm went off.
@@sydesign768 seems similar to my experience. I changed battery going thru correct procedure. Tamper alert came on and couldn't get rid of it. Ended up buying a new sensor.
