  • @katywalker8322

    My first bike was a Honda H100S.
    Bought my first Aprilia in 1989, which I still have. Bought an AF1 Futura in 1991, traded that for my rs125 new in 1993. Still have the rs125, and found the Futura on EBay in 2008 so bought it back.
    That RS looks like someone possibly put the rear brake line on the wrong way round! And very crudely painted the calipers. They are pretty weather resistant, so a strip down, thorough clean up and repaint and they should be fine. Gear lever is a cheap folding aftermarket one.
    If you have a pillion seat you must have pillion pegs for a legitimate MOT.
    The wiring loom isn’t too complex to redo. The original horns are pretty loud, but not sure if someone has replaced it or that is just the effect of the paint on it.
    Engines are the worry. Easy enough to do the top end. Balance shaft gears are a service part.

    I'm doing exactly the same, 1999 rs125. Wasn't my first bike, I'm too old for that! Does yours run.? Mine was original and unmolested, and ran nicely, but once up to temp' a while or after 5 miles it has a chronic knock, suspected plastic balance gears or bearing failed... Engine out time. Might as well do it properly. Lesson #1 check the engine really carefully, years of spotty knobs takes its toll. :) One more thing the swing arm bobbin holes usually aren't threaded, you have to drill and tap them, maybe someone got to yours already. Good luck!

    Could anyone tell me why my 1999 aprilia wont get fuel. I’ve cleaned out the carb and I’ve made sure fuel gets into the carb.

    • @letsreviewit8925
      @letsreviewit8925  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you removed the tank to make sure the fuel is actually flowing?

    • @cowboy4378
      @cowboy4378 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lets Review It yup I took the carb off and connected the fuel tank. I turned the fuel on and the fuel came out. I connected the carb back to the bike and nothing. The spark plug still works but it’s a bit dodgy so I’ll try and get a replacement.
      Thanks for your interest though
