This is very true. I live in Kolkata and I visited Magen David Synagogue during Hanukkah, the locality where it's located is mostly populated by Muslims and it's very true that they have preserved this structure built by the Ezras'.

Kolkata in general is a very liberal city. I’ve heard of stories from dad about how a Muslim family he knew sponsored a Hindu festival. I was born to a Hindu family, I used to go to St. Paul’s Cathedral on Christmas Eve every year to listen to the choir, I’ve been to Sikh Gurdwaras,a mosque , Buddhist Monasteries and never once turned away.
It is same in Bosnia and Croatia, not all Bosnians/Croats hate Serbs and many Serbian orthodox churches are being repaired and taken care of by Catholics and Muslims Thanks slavic brothers!

الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِن دِيٰرِهِم بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّآ أَن يَقُولُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ۗ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّهُدِّمَتْ صَوٰمِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَصَلَوٰتٌ وَمَسٰجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اسْمُ اللَّهِ كَثِيرًا ۗ وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥٓ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ
[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
