Hey Jon, that really makes a huge difference, I even liked the straight silver engine.. I haven't tried the accessory part market yet, but I'm getting closer to having some 1/48 scale kits come up in the build cycle. Some of the German aircraft model kits have jet engine kits with a lot of detail with tons of hydraulic lines, those are going to be a bit tricky to detail. Thanks for sharing, this video and the other one are super tutorials. Model On Cheers Bob.
Hi Jon. Good Evening from Saturday, 2310hrs (up late doing very little!) Nice work and very much the improvement over the kit offering that looks like a Wasp Junior! That being said, I have 2 x Armory Models 3D printed R-985 Wasp Juniors that I hope to use on the Revell(ICM) 1/48 Beechcraft Model 18. Multipart units. I also have a Metallic Details Twin Wasp to use on the Wolfpack (Academy/Hobbycraft) P-36A to help improve it (I've watched your build review). Also multipart. Haven't built any yet but they look nice and didn't cost much. I have noticed more after market companies like Barracuda, now printing all their stock rather than casting. More efficient and less waste. Have a few cast engines in some Special Hobby kits. (I wonder if SH will change to 3D printing for their future kits?). Thanks for the informative vids. Very helpful for when I tackle one. Cheers Matt 🦘
@MatterusOD You're welcome, Matt! I'm working on a Special Hobby Fokker D. XXI with a multi-part cast resin engine. It's complicated and fiddly like the rest of the kit. I sure hope they start printing their resin bits 🤞. Cheers!

@chrispacer4231 Thanks Chris! After all these years, there's still so much to learn, new products or processes to try, etc. I think that's why model building is a great long-term hobby. Have a great weekend!
Hey Jon. Now I see you didn’t prime the engine was there a choice for this as you were using acrylics? I tend to prime engines in black then build up metallic from there as it helps with the shadow effects. Anyway an awesome vid with great application. Have yet to do a 3d print engine. I might use your approach next time. Thanks and model and of course ride on!
You can prime in black if you like. With kit-supplied engines, I usually start with black and drybrush the silver. On the one-piece design prevents drybrushing, so I used a silver base and a wash for shadows. Cheers!
Beautiful - those Fast Fix engines are gorgeous.
Thanks, I agree!
Great video - simple & direct. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
@vincentnoriega3353 Thanks Vincent!
