I bought the Fujimi when I was in the Marines on Okinawa in around '84. I finally built it 4 years ago. I built it straight from the box. No problems. Decals were still good. Really good kit. USMC ret

Great review. Really like your reviews. There not overly long and drawn out. Great subjects as well.

Another great box review Jon! While building the “Dinah” I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Axis twin engine designs. Though the 110 is an attractive a/c I find the Japanese approach was more practical… just needed more armor protection. She looks like a fun build and I’m sure you will do her justice for an old kit! Thanks and ride on!

Brings back fond memories when I built this kit back in the mid-nineties (and the kit was old then!). I remember adding detail to the cockpit, canopy and landing gear. I completed the "wespe" (wasp) nose art variant and remember that the Fujimi decal nose art was not complete. In fact, Fujimi gave you instructions on how to use the art in the instructions to make masks to complete it. That was the hardest part, the wasp nose art, along with the interior cockpit and canopy work. Great review and thanks for including the aftermarket parts that you can buy to enhance these golden oldies. Some of us still have these and would like to enhance them as part of the build enjoyment.

@mister_fjk1972 You're welcome. I can relate to the difficulty of the wasp markings, having done that scheme on the Monogram 110. Though Monogram provided the full decal, I had to cut it up to get it on the kit. Cheers!

A well done video. I built several, long before Monogram and Eduard releases. I love the simplicity of the kit, while still presenting an excellent representation of that actual aircraft.

Hello! I just recently found your channel, and I really like it. I'll be checking out future posts, as you seem to like comparing old and new kits, and giving valuable opinions. In regards to the Fujimi Bf 110, I had this kit in the past, and I was impressed with how good it was.

¡Salud!

Thank, Jon for another nostalgic video of models long gone. This Bf-110 may look basic not to say primitive comparing with Eduard's offerings, but it looks stunning. The fit is ideal which is not the strongest point of modern manufacturers littering market with overdetailed and too complicated kits to build. You're lucky to have one. Enjoy. Awaiting you build log😊

Hallo Jon, thanks for the nice review. Some modelbuilders hang those old yellowed decals on a window in direct sunlight for at least 24 hours, this makes them less yellow and usuable again. I haven't tried this yet myself, but i've read it on several modelling forums, so i woud say...maybe it's worth trying. Greetings from Holland

@c.vandoorn-ee7mw Thanks for the tip! I tried this on a different kit. While the sunlight helped, the decals quickly turned yellow again on the finished kit. Since then, I just replace the decals. Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA!

Hey Jon, for some reason I've never built a BF 110 before, I need to put that on my list with more multi engine German fighters. The vintage Japanese kits, always seemed to have more accurate surface details that the competitors Too bad Goering didn't see the advantage of the 262, like he did for the 110, I did find a potential recipe for my chrome B58 paint scheme. A gloss black primer coated with Alclad chrome paint then use the old floor shine technique for sealer. Decals may be difficult . Looks like I'll be using several paint mules to get familiar.. So, Happy Building weekend, Cheers Bob.

Funny this should pop up at this time as I have that kit right in front of me. My kit has an extra sheet of decals in it. You seem to have only the decals for the D variant (3 aircraft), there is a sheet of decals and color profiles for the C variant (2 aircraft) as well in my box. They match one of the profiles shown on the side of the box. I also have a True Details cockpit details set (actually a complete cockpit replacement), airwaves P.E. set (will use some of the vents and screens) and Squadron Canopy (may not use). Quickboost also makes some exhaust for this kit which I will have to acquire as although the kit parts don't look terrible, they are not quite right. Also, I don't know if I want to drill out all the ends. Nice Review.

Right on! I have the other set of decals and instructions in this kit as well (I thought it was a fluke). Sadly, these are also yellowed in my kit. I appreciate your feedback. Cheers!

Another great video. Keep going on!. I thought this one ( reboxed by Italeri ) was 1/50
Is it a real 1/48 one? I have one Revell and one Eduard waiting to be built. BTW, Irak was another operator of the type.
    Have a nice week

Interesting! The scale listed on the box is 1/48. However, I know that some other kits of the era were 1/50th scale, so that wouldn't surprise me or keep me from building it. I'll be reviewing the Revell 110 soon. Cheers!
