Story 2 remind me when my fake friends pressured me into taking an acid tab. I had a bad trip, literally I mentally died. They just left me in this small room and I heard them talking about just dropping me off somewhere and that "She took the tab on her own." I felt as if they were going to kill me. Never spoke to them again and I have trust issues now.

These stories has helped me to be more aware of what people are capable of. People l know don't want to know or just afraid of what can happen in life. I feel this is why most people are caught off guard! Most feel if they stick their heads in the sand, bad things want happen to them. I'm not paranoid, but now l don't take any one for granted. Back in the 80s or 70s these things wouldn't happen. But things have changed!

That story about the 6 year old nearly drowning in the deep end had me in tears laughing, not because I'm a jerk, but because that was me as a kid, and I relate bigtime, as my phobia of water makes me flash back to that time at Water World in the wave pool where I got dragged into the deep end, went under, kicked in the head by some toddler in a floaty donut, then blacked out and next thing I know I've been washed up like a beached whale, and noone noticed....

In regards to the baby on the bike story: I had one of those seats for my son (except it was in front of me) and he pointed to the park when we were almost home one day. I decided to stop there and parked my bike near a tree. One of the roots threw it off balance and it fell with my son in it. I tried to catch it by the handlebars but they twisted and it fell pretty hard. He cried, I panicked and soon it became clear he was in pain whenever he lifted his arm. I took him to the ER immediately afterwards and that physician sent us home saying he just had a scrape. Two days later I took him back to the ER where a doctor finally got him an X-ray and we found out he had a broken collarbone. Evidently that is one of the most common injuries for young children and heals extremely quickly. It had been 3 days when we got that diagnosis and it was already in the mend. I had to ace bandage his arm to his side for 2 weeks.
I believe those seats should be banned. They’re dangerous. I bought a bike trailer off Craigslist later that week.

Story 6: The savannah is a goddamn war zone. As much as people meme about how dangerous Australia is, that place is a petting zoo compared to Africa. There's no harsher ecosystem on the planet, and probably hasn't been since the t. rex went extinct. Elephants though, yeah, they don't need to hide from anything. Seen them impale a 1,500 pound buffalo and toss it in the air like a ragdoll. Seen them take 3,500 pound hippos and treat them like a cat does a mouse. I don't understand how it was a big deal to get away from him, though. While elephants, especially bulls, are behemoth powerhouses, they aren't exactly cheetahs. They have a top speed of 20 to 25 MPH (and that's a fast one, many will struggle to pull off 15). What vehicle can't beat that? A golf cart? Why was it *ever* a concern about being able to get away?

I got one. When I was like 4 or 5 (the late 80s) those blood pressure testing machines just came out in the drugs stores. When my mom and grammas back was turned, I stuck my arm in and pressed the green start button. Well the cuff started blowing up and since my arm was so small it didn’t trigged the stop function. I remember screaming as it constricted around my little arm. Hearing my distress, the pharmacist ran over and tried pulling my arm out and eventually pulled the plug to stop it. It took years for me to not internally scream even when a wrap around one was put on me at the docs. Still to this day I cringe when I pass one by in a CVS or Costco.

😂😂😂😂 very funny childhood stories. Spent most of childhood in Africa & i remember my mom telling us the same thing in a bid to stop us from jumping & possibly hurting ourselves in the bathtub or cracking it , she told us there was crocodile that lived underneath it ... it so terrified me that I never opened that little door on the side of the bathtub- which is technically only opened for maintenance work but I was convinced there was a giant crocodile living underneath the bathtub. 😂😂

The mom in the first story should totally feel guilty about nearly losing her child to the skin-head hot-wiring her car, in addition to the teller feeling guilty. My own mother feels guilty for all the wrong reasons in most situations, thanks to her chronic uncontrollable anxiety; among other things I resent her for, I resent her for passing that on to me, in addition to chronic depression, migraines, trust issues, and lack of "normal person" passing skills. It's her genes that have prevented me from having a normal adult life and trap me in a loop of self-hatred on a regular basis.

    • @SpaceCadet2569
      @SpaceCadet2569 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I lost my mum when she was 42. I was 17. This made me an orphan. I had to leave the country I lived in and go and live with my Nan. You are just being petty and expect everyone to say ahh poor you.
Depending on the where and when of the story leaving your car unlocked may be normal practice.

    • @prudentia8529

@@SpaceCadet2569 in my personal opinion i think op here is partially justified in their resentment for their mother.
i have mental health issues and one of the things keeping me from having children is the possibility of passing on my disorders and subjecting my offspring to life long issues.
also, i find it quite ironic that you’re saying op is pulling a pity party but you had to mention being orphaned yourself…maybe keep your negativity to yourself in the future ♡

The elephant one had me cackling. Sorry to the OP, I know it was terrifying, but the mental imagery in my head is downright cartoonish and that it was soundtracked by that song... Perfection for the absurdity and the terror. Cuz I would not want to be on a bull elephants sh*t list. But the song. 😂

My creepy experience (not really scary but kinda strange)- I was like 8 on vacation in Florida and I woke up from a nightmare around 4:00 am, rolled over, and saw a tall, dark shadow figure with red eyes and a grin full of sharp white teeth. It was over in a second but still was terrifying for an 8 year old.

my brother, when he was like 6, decided it was a good idea to jump into the deep end (8 feet) at our cousins pool, he couldnt swim yet and still had floaties, according to him, the marshmallows he was eating and holding was suppose to make him float....luckily my uncle saw him jump in...

This is not scary at all but the swimming one reminded me of trying to impress people at school with my swimming. You had to swim a width of the shallow end so they could assess your skill level (whether you’d be doing the session in the shallow or deep end) and I’d had lessons and was decent so I thought I’d be all cool and do the entire width without taking a breath to show how quick I could do it. Well this backfired as they decided I didn’t know how to breathe properly so I got put with all the people that couldn’t swim in the shallow end and had to watch all the fun stuff like swimming down for the bricks from afar, still stings that one.

The story of the boy with the ruptured bowel bowel, that's actually an extremely dangerous thing. I worked in nursing home with the woman who had no real understanding of what was going on around her and her body movements are extremely stiff although she would get up and move around and do all kinds of stuff she was almost like a zombie, not the kind of movie but the real life kind with severe brain damage. One day I was talking to her husband who is a dentist and he told me what happened to her. I knew that she had a colostomy bag because of a ruptured bowel but he told me that it happened several years ago and she started having problems moving and then her brain started having problems and he didn't know what was going on but when he would try to help her get showers she would be fighting him and she he couldn't understand what was going on. By the time he finally got her medical help and they found out what was going on her insides were filled with feces and it gave her severe body and brain damage. Basically fecal matter is a poison to the body that is why the body is trying to get rid of it it takes all the garbage and flushes it out of your body. To have it go back into the body is extremely poisonous and because of the long-term problem that wasn't found until it was too late she was never the same.
