that would follow her for her entire life!

People don't talk enough about how Chain of Memories is basically a psychological horror game.

Great work on this one. I love Naminè a lot and wish she got more recognition rather than just being a single talking point that people confuse themselves over.

In the Meteor Promise, The Meteor "Is" Kairi. The Ark hit the side of the World of Destiny Islands and cause Gummi Blocks to rain down, Which means the two people in the Promise cannot be Her.
The Promise is Riku's promise to "protect the thing that Matters" , Sora. Riku's character arc.
The Novels are also very explicit that Namine is the one doing the Memory work, and she cannot create or erased Memories. She has to work with what is already available.

If she strengthened her powers...What else could she come to do ? Brains are hive like. One part will affect the rest. And in this series, connections and identity are power over reality itself. So what else might she do if she got stronger.

Before the retcons, what exactly were Nobodies ? To an extent, they're who they used to be, except at their lowest and lacking hearts. However, besides Nothing, they use elements of reality itself to keep themselves together, such as Roxas, who holds himself through Light, Dark and the Nothing itself, or Naminé, who holds herself through memories.
I think they're something similar to gods/demons. They're elements of reality themselves rather than soulless individuals, using the void in those people to take control and gain sentience, with Roxas incarnating the Three main elements' need to be physically together, Naminé representing the longing of Sora and his friends to be together again, and the list goes on.
If this theory is true...We genocided representations of the very reality itself ! A reality that was trying to ascend. That CAN NOT be good ! Mark my and Karl Mordo's words, the bill is coming.
Like, you can justify it for Marluxia, Larxene, Saix, Xemnas...But there are others that crossed a line.

I honestly prefer the Re: Chain game over the original Chain of Memories. It made things a little bit easier to play and streamlined gameplay in some places. Plus the story is exactly the same.

...huh. I've never actually stopped to consider how bizarre the circumstances around Namine's "birth" actually is. Like, theoretically she shouldn't be able to exist at all, come to think of it. Though I am willing to just take at face value that she is a Nobody until the series hits the point where she's allowed to be a character. Poor girl deserves better.

Enjoyable discussion about namine story arc I don't see too many videos about her part in the story, even after hearing you're take it just bring about how sad it started out for it never really says how long she was around up until kh2 besides stating sora was sleep for year just looking past that part about sora. But overall namine like another besides Roxas had for me a bittersweet ending in kh2 maybe because they where content with where they belong as nobody's.

I have a theory about this.
There is a conversation that The Master of Masters has with Young Xehanort about " if he is a Fortuneteller?". He says he could lie and say he is that when he is a Brilliant Artist or a Scholar. And then he drops the Truth is what you See with your Eyes.
And I realized The Master of Masters is.... a Director. (he is an Artist and a Scholor of Disney/Final Fantasy/ The Real/the Mystery)
So, in the Secret Movie in KH3, Our Director stands on the Square Enix building. And he is framing the Moon.
Now, as you know, Data Riku as Jimmy Journal is Re Coded Narrative, literally. And is directly correlated to the Book of Prophecies. So Riku is the Narrative Frame that MoM makes with his Hands. The Master directs Riku's Light to illuminate the Hidden and try to capture the Moon. (setting the camera). The Moon is Sora, as Tennelle said. (also, seen in Re Coded)
Then, the Director makes a Kingdom Hearts on the Moon. Riku is correlated to Kingdom Hearts/Disney Magic so many times it isn't funny. And because the Kingdom Key of Riku (His Heart and Light and Will) is in Sora, The Master/ our Director is showing us the Child of Destiny and the way he made them Exist.
And this is placed in the context of The True Kingdom Hearts and Cosmic Forces. The PLOT.
Sora and Riku in Romantic Love is literally Kingdom Hearts, the Story.
Namine is also an Artist. And I think I know why. Namine is created for Sora's Heart and Body. And Sora had The Ancient Darkness that was called Vanitas, Ventus, Kairi, and this is Important, Riku's Light in him.
So, Namine is what happens when Soriku Resonance (Kingdom Heart Story/Love as Art) filters though Kairi's form and casts a Shadow in the Ancient Darkness.
And What is Namine? I believe Namine is an in-universe Fanfiction Artist/Creator.
She takes the Story of Sora and Riku's Past and KH1(the Story of Kingdom Hearts) and Self Inserts to try to capture that Light. (True Love Romance)
But Nomura is good Director, and therefore, Namine has to use the Narrative (The Memories/ Story of the Past) that is already there.
So, Namine uses Riku to call Sora to the place that would have shown him Riku is his Light, the Person he loves. (Castle Oblivion)
Then, she inserts herself gradually into the Story as the Illusion Story. (She is pulling a Darkness using the True Light)
That is what she is from a higher perspective. She is a Fanfiction Artist trying to overshadow the Original Story.
She is the Shadow of Kairi, who Unconsciously wanted to be what Riku is Unconsciously to Sora and have the Love Riku has for Sora.
She Drew a Fantasy that would allow her to take Sora and Riku's True Love Destiny.
But Riku's Light grew her Heart and made her feel Guilt.
    So, she turned it around.
So, what is this to Me? The Master created these Cycles to make Sora and Riku. It is an Occult Romance Mystery. The Master is created the conflict that actually causes True Love Romance. The Prince of the Sun and the Human of the Earth.
But he is Acting the Antagonist. Because that will get him his True Love Romance as Mystery. He Believes in this. After all, He has Seen the Astral Plane.... All those Stories... he knows the Tropes.
So, Namine is the Shadow of KINGDOM HEARTS (Sora and Riku/The Ancient Darkness) and yes, she is a Fanfiction Artist of The Master's work.

Nah hold on, man. As much as I love a ReCoM deep dive, there’s one area where the game actively contradicts you here. Hate to feel like a “Well, actually” person, but I feel this weird need to assert I actually know SOMETHING about these darn games I’ve followed for 20 years before Nomura changes it again… I may also be overexplaining myself in an effort to make my point clear, so apologies in advance.
ReCoM states in the part we’re ACTUALLY supposed to believe is honestly true, the Meteor Shower never happened at all, with anyone. That was a fake memory Namine implanted into both Sora and Repliku for the Organization’s means.
It’s created as a ploy to use Sora as a tool, and Namine manipulates the appearance of Sora’s thelassa shell charm that Kairi made on Destiny Islands to ensure their safe raft travel, then gave to Sora for good luck in KH1.
In ReCoM, Namine uses the charm as proof to Sora that the Meteor Shower actually happened, and Sora and Repliku both having one was part of the whole plot, as Repliku’s was completely fake. Sora’s charm was real, but its appearance and context of how it was given to him is completely different.
The promise ReCoM keeps talking about regarding the Meteor Shower directly connects to Namine giving out the charm, and with Namine replacing Kairi with herself in all Sora’s memories, that promise between Sora and Kairi that directly connected to the charm was a promise in Traverse Town to come back to her and bring the lucky charm back to her safely.
Namine and Larxene also both state the Meteor Shower memory was completely fabricated. So, even if it could be argued that Larxene and Namine meant that that memory never happened with NAMINE and instead happened with someone else, the fact that we know the lucky charm’s origin to be different when it was such a crux to that memory is HIGHLY indicative that Namine just made it all up, then implanted it into Sora and Repliku’s memories, using the charm as a tool to lend credence to her fabricated story.
Unless, of course, the whole lore has changed all over again or Nomura hid another important piece of lore in a medal description in Union X or some Japanese-only interview from a decade ago…wouldn’t put it past him.

Namine states she doesn't create or erase any Memories, just takes apart the links and rearranges them. (Stated In Re Com the Game) This is repeated twice in the Novels. She literally cannot just make it up.
Also, Namine got Sora to come to the Castle using Riku. It is why Sora just suddenly feels he is there. It is the thing she did to his Heart. (as stated partly in the Destiny Island part).
Namine is stating her being in the Meteor Promise is fake, not the Promise itself.
Larxene doesn't actually know how Namine's powers work, and why would Namine tell her?

The Charm in the Meteor Promise is believed to be the Crown Necklace (given by Riku/ Sora always wears it/ In the novels, it is stated the Charm hangs around the neck) and Riku declares he will Protect Sora (His Character ethos) . Namine took the Oathkeeper Promise and the Meteor Promise (both real) and fused the chains together. Then, she placed herself as a character in them. ("Sora")
For Sora specifically, she stays in Sora's position, and places Sora in the position of Riku.

Usually, a retcon in Kingdom Hearts is actually you believing a character's subjective opinion about a thing. And some characters lie, or believe lies told to them. "The Truth is what you See with your Eyes, not what you Hear".

    • @Fragmentsinfractals488
      @Fragmentsinfractals488 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Also , this.
I am sorry , but in the direct Japanese to English translation, in Chain of Memories, Her is never used to describe the person in the Meteor Promise. It is "that person" or "your precious person".
Further, After Sora gets the Meteor promise, he starts calling Namine and this person, aitsu, which is a gender neutral but male leaning pronoun that it would be rude to call a girl.
He also calls Riku Replica that.
And that is why when Selphie says, " He's thinking about "Her"" it is actually "He's thinking about "that guy" /Aitsu". And Sora goes "Umm... I guess", because he is thinking of Riku who is imprinted on Namine. So, Sora is trying to figure out if he is looking for Riku or Namine. After all, when Sora came to the Castle, he was looking for Riku, and that is what Namine used to draw Sora there. She "called out to his Heart" and suddenly, Sora just knows Riku is in the Castle.
Also, the place where Namine is standing, and Kairi appears when the Star reverts back to Oathkeeper is the same place Riku was standing before the Real Destiny Island fell to Darkness before Ansem, Seeker of Darkness sent him away. See Recoded.
Also, Riku's Light gives Sora the Kingdom Key on that same night, the Sword to protect him. His Crown, so to speak.
The insinuation during that scene is Riku wanted to take Sora through his Darkness and they both would have ended up where Sora and Namine are in the illusion of Destiny Islands in Chain of Memories, but on the Real Destroyed Islands. And Sora clasps Namine's hand like Riku wanted Sora to do in KH1. And all the things Sora says to Namine mirror Sora reuniting with Riku/"Ansem " in KH2 in both the games and the novels.
