Wow congratulations, literally yesterday I got a comment from someone who did the same thing as you, and he did not win that Game of Roulette, so that was sad to hear. Cool that you didn't suffer the same fate.
Armada Starscream was my first introduction to the character. And I honestly like that version, mostly because of the coloration, over the G1 Starscream. Now onto the Legacy figure himself. He's really cool. I didn't have the original Armada Starscream toy, so having version, in box, is great. Robot and jet mode looks cool. The Star Saber sword is cool, but I wish he came with his mini-con Swindle too. Anyways, looking forward to who's next from the Unicron Trilogy. Besides the Legacy Evolution Hotshot, the rumored listed Megatron, and the coming Optimus Prime. -I don't have the Thrilling 30 toy either, but I wish the orange swords carried over to this Legacy version. To be the energon weapons Hasbro was doing at the beginning of Legacy before dropping it later on. As I never was a fan of his wing turn sword weapon from the show. It does look cool, but it made him look lopsided. And here it looks strangely out of place since it's not the wing anymore.
Totally understand it, I personally can't think of them as really the same character though. Aramada Starscream is more like Dinobot than he is Starscream. Leaving him in the box and displaying him that way is the best way to avoid the bad QC. Yeah, it's supper weird how much the Legacy Line gave up on the Energon Weapon Gimick Immediately.
Here I thought the thing I had to worry about was the color scheme looking subtly off and the sword not transforming into one of the wings. Turns out there was more to fear.
I am commenting once more, been a while but I love this figure. Well, the character to me was special as I recall seeing him one early morning with my brother, which got us both back into Transformers as previously we had watched RID (2001) and we just wanted to more, so with G1 in our minds and a bit of beast wars, we had went onto Armada. Starscream was my favorite because of the gimmicks with him. The wing becoming a sword was such a cool idea and I hope if a third party company makes a kit upgrade or even make their own version of this Starscream, I'd hope to see such a gimmick brought back like the original. Thanks for reviewing this figure and please keep up the good work.
It has been a while indeed. Yeah, it's unfortunate, he was probably the coolest character in that show, and the best Remembered by the community, and he gets screwed like this. And thank you I will.
As a fan of Satrscream, I appreciate The changes this specific version of the character made. That's why I'm happy he at least looks like the character I love. Posing him and Dinobot together makes me wanna cry, as my 2 favorite characters at least look the part in the modern era. My main QC gripe is that the head always veers left for some reason. When I try to snap it back, it pops back. I'm pissed.
My Dinobot was fine aside from a loose foot tilt which always leaves him leaning forward when standing up (Also I accidentally broke his sword so that was fun)
Can confirm, the leg on mine loves to pop of too, otherwise I love the figure, luckily my armada hotshot doesn’t have any QC issues, which gives me hope for the rest of wave 4

Thankfully i must be one of the lucky ones with good copy of this figure. Legs are a tad loose but he can still hold any pose I put it in. I can only hope others get as lucky as I did, my favourite legacy figure so far.
I really love this figure, my quality is good with only the arms being floppy when put on the middle of the slider, but easily fixable when not bothering to slide them in, which means that MY starscream is perfect, yeah his leg does pop off but I circumvent that with just holding his leg with my thumb while rotating it
Ok that made me think of something cool. A Selects or Buzzworthy release with two swappable heads: one head would be a new Armada Ramjet tooling, and the other would be the regular Starscream head in Nacelle’s colors. That wouldn’t be hard for them to do, and it’d be pretty cool to see them utilize alternate heads again.
I kid you not. The original figure literally has the exact same problem in jet mode with the legs. But I still want to buy all the repaints they’ll make ESPECIALLY RAMJET!!!!!
I DON'T HAVE THE LEG PROBLEM In fact, besides the wreaked box and a paint mishap on the face, I got it PERFECT. Painted in some of the missing spots too for fun.
I actually have a Theory about the legs, where I think some of them are winding up being misassembled with two right hips, as there are people out there where both legs fall off, so they got two left ones it would seem.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh! Makes sence. exsept it looks completey normal. Also at first I was able to open the doors with a finger, but putting them together is annoying.
This is my #1 favorite starscream of all and I would like to be announced as a winner if I do win and mine really doesn't have any QC all are fine and tight.
I got pretty luck with QC for once. Still got the leg problem though, but I don't even put him in to full jet mode anymore. I just put him in a Macross Gerwalk mode since he has the perfect limb placement for it. Ironically gave him one of Jetfire's weapons for the jet gun, since G1 Jetfire WAS a Macross Valkyrie.
Man I remember when I first bought the G2 Laser Prime in Wave 1 and immediately I had that mushroom peg problem where his arms threatened to pop off at even the slightest rotation. So I know how that feels. Thankfully my Velocitron Scourge didnt have that, thank GOD. But yeah, on a side note, good luck to whoever wins that Armada Starscream, and may the QC be with you.
I got my copy of this Starscream last week and the issues aren't quite as bad for me. The legs are loose but not so bad that he can't stand up. Never fallen over of his own accord yet. His legs do come off when rotated but slowly like it's hard to tell at first that it's happening. If I kept doing it without correcting then it'd definitely come off. And while the connection at the back of the jet is loose, it never comes out of its own accord.
Great review PerspectiveEnd!!! I was going to pass on this figure completely, but my local Target store suckered me into getting this figure, since he was on sale for only $29.99 the day I found him. (grunt) At least I still have the original Armada Thundercracker figure in my collection. lol Keep on being amazing.
@@PerspectiveEnd Not where I live. In my area of California voyager class Transformers cost $34.99, and with sales taxes, the final price tag is over $37.00 for one voyager figure! (grunt)
I feel like we're getting ripped off, we're paying more for 2015 QC. Hasbro apparently doesn't care. This is why I've been very selective with the legacy line. Your videos are helpful because you haven't been wrong yet. I've been buying more chug friendly third party figures due to legacy being hit and miss.
I'm happy to hear that you feel that way. You've been with me a long time, so the fact that you don't think I'm wrong yet, tells me I'm doing something right.
He’s amazing. I don’t have interest in watching armada but he is such a good voyager. I got him and inferno the same day Infernos great. I can get over his leg falling off sometimes. I really enjoy the transformation and there’s just something about his look. 10/10
This is probably my favorite legacy figure ever, mostly because my figure doesn’t seem to suffer from any major QC issues the back of the jet mode tabs in just fine. The only thing I can say suck about this figure is the wing sword can’t believe that the red paint was removed just because of a stupid energon gimmick no one gives a shit about.
This figure is bittersweet. One on hand I'm ecstatic that they remade armada starscream since that original toy was the first transformer I ever owned so this will always have a place in my heart. On the other hand it's a huge bummer how floppy and loose this guy is. I was able to fix most of them but you shouldn't have to. Still happy to have him regardless
Yeah, it shouldn't be on US to make the toys good, they should come good. It's so sad because I think everyone who watched Armada has fond memories of this particular character, so it's just tragic it turned out like this.
I must've gotten incredibly lucky with this guy, because I got him twice and I've experienced neither of the QC issues listed in the video. The leg stays on, and they stay in place in jet mode too. My first one had a slightly gammy right arm, so I grabbed a second one with intent to frankenstein them together, only to find that the second one was perfect. Holds together just fine, nothing loose, he still has a few balance issues thanks to his small feet and the weight distribution in his upper torso, but he's fine.
My starscream's joints are decent on 3 limbs, a tad floppy but hold on well enough but his left arm is so loose that it's a chore to have him in a dynamic pose with a sword in his left hand
I’m not a fan of UT, but as a Starscream, I am obligated to get him and add him to my Squall of Screamers. A shame about the QC, but it seems like a solid figure.
This guy, along with Bomb-Burst (Him and Iguanus are bounty hunters in my Transformers headcanon), BW Inferno (Need him to complete my Season 1 Predacons), BW Transmetal 2 Megatron (Yes...), and Crankcase (He'll look great along with Siege Spinister, Siege Flywheels, and Titans Return Krok for a Scavengers display), are must gets for me from Wave 3 (When that wave shows up in my area). I'm typically easy to please when it comes to Transformers toys, but I will still be wary of the QC issues. I'm quite excited for Legacy Evolution (In particular Armada Hot Shot, Needlenose, Tarn, and Leo Prime)
Oddly, my copy doesn't seem to have most of the QC issues. It might be a fix due to mine being obtained later or it just might be my copy, but the leg doesnt have any issues at all. The alt mode DOES still have some trouble staying together, but it holds together better than your copy. I do jave a friend who has a copy with your issues, so either a running change happened at some point or I just got extremely lucky with my copy of the figure.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yea I’m pretty sure Peter Griffin is QC it’s to be expected The Star Splinter is Disappointing if your not going to minicons at least spend 50 cents more on plastic for certain weapons the thing looks like and old blow pop someone stuck under their desk with the stick still in it and what happened to the “energon” infusion weapons
This figure is excellent! All you need to do is tighten the hips and ankles, thicken the peg holding the alt mode together, paint in a few large areas of missing grey and black and always, always be very careful with the left thigh, and then this figure is excellent! I have Needlenose from wave 1 of Legacy Evolution and it has the most perfect joint tolerance I have ever experienced on a Transformer, so fingers crossed, whatever the hell was going on with wave 3 QC has already been sorted.
@@PerspectiveEnd Just think of it like a model kit and not, you know, the fully functioning action figure it's supposed to be. Now you can get to have that sense of accomplishment that you made something your very own 😄 I do hope Needlenose is a sign that things are getting back to the way they should be. Speaking of, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on him. For me he has what I can only describe as perfect hand feel. He just feels so good to hold and to pose.
I actually don’t have the left leg problem, mine’s thighs are very tight along with the feet. The only looseness I had are the arm sliders (which I think you had the arms transformed wrong or I’m just seeing wrong), the waist, and the legs going front and back. Luckily I was able to fix them easily, though it took me about three goes with the floor polish on the arms and I might have to go again one more time and I did the legs twice just out of caution, but I can’t remember if I actually fixed the waist. And my alt mode actually holds together decently, and I don’t think QC is the problem with the alt mode holding together but rather the design choice they made. The tab isn’t going into a normal slot, but the place where the waist’s mushroom peg is and obviously on many’s it’s just not working. For me personally, I really like this and this has been standing on my shelf the last couple months as my definitive Starscream.
I actually have a Theory about the legs, where I think some of them are winding up being misassembled with two right hips, as there are people out there where both legs fall off, so they got two left ones it would seem. Happy to hear your's is over all great though.
@@PerspectiveEnd Uh, they confirmed on livestream the yellowing issue was a factory issue, so they were changing that. Im worried in changing factory to solve Yellowing, it caused another issue of bad QC at the factory instead

6:35 3 children laser sword? It's anime there's no such thing as logic i really don't care about logic in fiction because your talking about giant robots that turned into cars and other things lol i love this Star Saber sword 🗡️
Man I'm sorry. It turns out I'm wrong but only for bad reasons. Turns out that some joints got mixed up, so some people got Starscreams with two right hips, which means the leg doesn't pop off... While others got two left hips... I think you see the problem.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah that tracks 😭 tbh I still love the figure, the QC is tragic but the figure itself still makes me super happy! Very few TF figures I own pose this well. Side note, love your reviews. It's interesting because while I regularly disagree with what you're saying, I find you do a really good job at justifying your complaints - so I end up really enjoying your videos despite my own opinion.
It looks so perfect. Poses like a dream. It has one bad accessory (Star Saber is too damn small). It’s accurate, has no gaps, and even retains all the functions it had in the show. All it needs is like...one weapon kit (Whether it's the twin swords of his Universe counterpart or a bigger, badder Star Saber. Remember, that sword's supposed to be almost as tall as Hotshot.) Why is it so thoroughly fucked by QC? Why does this keep happening to the figures I want the most? I'm sure there's some sort of homebrew fix for at least the ultra-loose joints, but I'm not sure about that Mushroom peg hip.
You know, I think a cool video would be a ranking of the toy lines you’ve made videos on, like Titans Returns, Siege, ER, etc, I’m curious what the rankings would be
That QC is tragic. At least loose joints can be mitigated with some floor polish or glue, but it's still a bad experience to have to have buyers fix figures when they should be out of the factory in good condition. Kids might end up screwing up the figure since they don't know what to do. I wonder if this is the same factory as their Victory Saber?
I happened into Target 2 days before Christmas and found 4 of these guys....on the opposite end of the transformers section. In the Transformers section there was a sale sign that said "Transformers Legacy Voyager $21.99" with nothing behind the price sign. I assumed it was for Starscream since there were no other Voyagers there. At the checkout it rang up at $34 or some shit. I told the cashier it was on sale for $22, and she then rang it in for $20 even. So in short, I got this figure brand new for nearly half off. I haven't even opened it. But even if it has QC issues, I can't complain that much for a $20 Voyager.
With some floor polish to thicken joints and paint detailing, then a lite dirt wash, I think this would make a good PS2 Transformers StarScream. Specially paired against Bendy Prime [armada deluxe]. I really hope we get a voyager Armada Cyclonus. He had the best music and a damn cool boss fight in the game. In the show he was just a dunce.
Yeah, but we shouldn't have to fix our toys like this. I get their being like a Pair of joints that could use some TLC, but this is like the whole dude. Unacceptable.
Mine didn't have too much QC shit thank god, but some stuff was bad. I wish they didn't skimp out on the grey though. That combined with the tiny star saber and wing sword just make the QC on a lot of these just hurts.
Ummm, for the giveaway thing, I accidentally sent two, uhh... Just ignore the first one. Also can I just say, it's not that Armada Starscream is a "Cool Warrior" version of him, it's just that he's Dinobot in a Starscream body... No seriously, they have almost the exact same story in the series, I mean they even get revived as an evil version of themselves.
The CHUG aesthetic is actually based off of the Unicron Trilogy as the original line frequently had repaints of UT figures in it.
Early Classics/Universe 2.0 and Cybertron also shared a lot of engineering/aesthetic philosophies.
Makes sense why Hasbro didn’t redesign him then, glad that they stayed faithful to his Armada design.
They just need to work on that QC. So many toys of last year should not have belonged anywhere near a worst-of list, but they ended up there because of QC kerfuffles that completely ruined the figure.

I kid you not. The original figure literally has the exact same problem in jet mode with the legs. But I still want to buy all the repaints they’ll make ESPECIALLY RAMJET!!!!!
Man I don't remember the OG figure pulling that?
I DON'T HAVE THE LEG PROBLEM
In fact, besides the wreaked box and a paint mishap on the face, I got it PERFECT.
Nice! I'm happy to hear that you aren't having my troubles.
7:40 they even got angry faces
I only noticed that when I went to edit this thing.
I also bought this starscream because of windblade version. I thought i was the only one who was thinking about it
The Windblade Starscream is so interesting and fun.
If I buy him, I want to design an actual transforming wingsword. Its one of my favoirte things about him
That's an odd thing to be one of your favorite Aspects.
This Starscream (toy) can literally and completely be described as the Dollarstore Jhiaxus
I mean I do feel you on that.
his face with the cannons up looks like UoU
I'm not quite seeing what you are seeing.
This figure screams my childhood and first introduction to transformers
I totally get that, and I wish that I had better news to deliver about the QC, it would be a really good figure otherwise.
The character of Armada Starscream is probably looking at this and hurling chunks into his grave.
He'd be so offended that a version of him was so weak.
Yay a new perspective vid!!!
Hope it was more fun than the figure.
I didn't even think to try a Gerwalk with him.
Yeah, my Laser Prime does that too, but no where near as often. Sorry about yours.
That's lucky, for me, it's like 1 full rotation and they come flying off like they are Spring Loaded.
Hopefully one day, Hasbro starts to care again and gives us a proper Minicon Star Saber
It's weird that they aren't doing more with the minicons considering how much of a cash cow they were back in the day.
Let's just hope Inferno swoops in and saves us from Legacy's W3 problems.
I mean we already know he has, because he was on my Top 10 of 2022.
Isn't that the Normal Price for a Voyager though?
@@PerspectiveEnd Not where I live. In my area of California voyager class Transformers cost $34.99, and with sales taxes, the final price tag is over $37.00 for one voyager figure! (grunt)
The bad qc is supposed to make you scream like starscream in the show
Must be their plan.
Such a shame that the QC has gone down, I was really looking forward to this one
He’s still good but it’s mainly the right or left leg that slides off and the back port in jet mode, mine only has an issues with one of its legs.
Same, but there's hope that a better version will release later.
Way better than that PIECE OF GARBAGE CYBERTRON STARSCREAM
It's also that the jet mode has trouble holding together, but I'm glad you are enjoying him.
Geez, at that point, I'd rather just hunt for the Thrilling 30 Verision
The qc is so upsettingly bad.
I love this figure, but I’m afraid to transform it because the right foot is too tight and is already showing stress marks
Man I didn't even know that could be a concern.
@@PerspectiveEnd it goes side to side fine, but the problem is tilting the foot down into the leg
So the way I’m seeing it, this figure is a 10/10 hindered by abysmal QC issues
8 out of 10, But dragged to a 4 through brute QC.
The weird thing is that he doesn't have any Energon weapons. The Star Saber isn't clear.
And I'm happy to hear that yours turned out better than mine.
How did you fixed the leg poping off ?
I love the look of this thing
I do as well. It looks so good.
Beating someone to death with laser children sounds kinda cool actually
Sounds like a page out of the Flaming Carrot.
Remember?
Heh, go isn’t as bad as I thought
Of course.
And yeah it's a good design, just bad execution.
4:44 “…but it’s enough about the QC”
Hehe, see what I did there.
More to come?
For me the arms are decent, but it's the legs that are the real problem and especially the feet.
I’m not a fan of UT, but as a Starscream, I am obligated to get him and add him to my Squall of Screamers. A shame about the QC, but it seems like a solid figure.
It's a solid design on paper, it's just the execution that fails.
I totally get why you are after this, and I just hope you have better luck with the QC than me and most others.
my amarda starscream legs keep flying off the mushroom peg
Oddly, my copy doesn't seem to have most of the QC issues. It might be a fix due to mine being obtained later or it just might be my copy, but the leg doesnt have any issues at all.
The alt mode DOES still have some trouble staying together, but it holds together better than your copy.
I do jave a friend who has a copy with your issues, so either a running change happened at some point or I just got extremely lucky with my copy of the figure.
I love This Thing Only dislikes I have are wishing Starscream was a leader so the articulation was better and the
Star “IcePick“ pissed me off
I mean the articulation is already great, it's just the QC that's failing me honestly.
And what's wrong with the ChildSaber?
@@PerspectiveEnd Yea I’m pretty sure Peter Griffin is QC it’s to be expected
The Star Splinter is Disappointing if your not going to minicons at least spend 50 cents more on plastic for certain weapons the thing looks like and old blow pop someone stuck under their desk with the stick still in it and what happened to the “energon” infusion weapons
So we basically have to put a ton of work in.
Hopefully it's just a Wave 3 thing and we can get back to the good stuff.
@@PerspectiveEnd Just think of it like a model kit and not, you know, the fully functioning action figure it's supposed to be. Now you can get to have that sense of accomplishment that you made something your very own 😄
I do hope Needlenose is a sign that things are getting back to the way they should be.
I hope the yellowing issue wasn't solved by lowering the quality so much
I mean where would this one yellow?
@@PerspectiveEnd Uh, they confirmed on livestream the yellowing issue was a factory issue, so they were changing that. Im worried in changing factory to solve Yellowing, it caused another issue of bad QC at the factory instead
Best Starscream design in my opinion it's not like him because I'm a weeb or anything haha lol 🤣
(i have this figure and i love it)
And Alexis is my waifu in armada 😍
6:35 3 children laser sword? It's anime there's no such thing as logic
i really don't care about logic in fiction because your talking about giant robots that turned into cars and other things lol
i love this Star Saber sword 🗡️
I loved this Starscream my self too, though he's more like an interpretation of dinobot.
dude alexis is just a friggin kid during those times what the hell
@@charperalta9489 it's a fictional character they have no rights a drawing it's embarrassing 😑
@@charperalta9489 and I've been attracted to many anime girls since i got into anime like Pokemon
And Alexis is no different
i mean no harm
Me, holding my Armada Starscream: there's no WAY every figure has the left leg issue-- no, wait, there it is, mine just came off
Man I'm sorry. It turns out I'm wrong but only for bad reasons.
Turns out that some joints got mixed up, so some people got Starscreams with two right hips, which means the leg doesn't pop off... While others got two left hips... I think you see the problem.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah that tracks 😭
tbh I still love the figure, the QC is tragic but the figure itself still makes me super happy! Very few TF figures I own pose this well.
Side note, love your reviews. It's interesting because while I regularly disagree with what you're saying, I find you do a really good job at justifying your complaints - so I end up really enjoying your videos despite my own opinion.
I got this guy. I love him and yes the left leg will always pop out.
I wish I loved him.
i love how quickly you let us know this figure is trash. only this channel. back to third party i go
The Inferno is Good.
And yes, I don't hide things for a big reveal.
I just realized that his null ray canons are upside down when you flip them over.
Yeah I was thinking they looked wrong.
7:37 So I have fingers of a literal baby... I can fit them in to open them so the transformation in a lot better for me.
Damn son those are some skinny digits.
Remember, that sword's supposed to be almost as tall as Hotshot.)
Why is it so thoroughly fucked by QC? Why does this keep happening to the figures I want the most? I'm sure there's some sort of homebrew fix for at least the ultra-loose joints, but I'm not sure about that Mushroom peg hip.
Yeah most of this can be taken care of by Joint Tightners, but I don't know how you fix it falling in half in altmode.
The only reason I want this figure is to set him up next to my armada Cyclonus, all we need now is legacy demolisher
Hopefully they come out with legacy figures of them, but also they don't have shitty QC.
You know, I think a cool video would be a ranking of the toy lines you’ve made videos on, like Titans Returns, Siege, ER, etc, I’m curious what the rankings would be
That is something to keep in mind for the future yes.
hasbro must've gotten their OGL guy to do the QC for transformers too
I must’ve been one of the lucky ones that has no issues with my figure at all
You just HAD to prove me wrong.
The qc is a shame but I can't help but want him. Armada Starscream is just too cool.
I know, and if you wind up getting him, I just hope you don't have my troubles.
Exactly, this is less of a problem for Adult collectors, though it still is one, but for kids this is awful.
I was gonna say "I hate to be the guy to say my QC is fine" but then I rotated the figures leg, I even started typing the comment out.
SEE!!! SEEE!!! I CAN NOT BE DENIED THIS TIME!!!
7:33 I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the tab doors have a giant screaming face on them
I didn't notice till editing the video.
He should had been part of the amazing jet con(cyclonus and jhiaxus)
But the qc hammer strike him like unicron smash cybertron in 86 movie
It would be so good if not for the QC.
The starscreams are haunted. The other one came to your house to warn you about something
I mean he is a ghost from what I understand of Energon.
Ahhh that explains it
I recently ordered armada Starscream, I hope that when I get my copy I won't have so many QC problems.
I hope so too.
It's so sad because I think Armada Starscream is one of the coolest looking designs ol' Screamer's ever had, but oh my god, that quality control...
Indeed, and the figure is like an 8 out of 10 but the build drags it down to a 4.
I actually really like this figure. For 15 bucks. Mine also has good/decent QC, the right leg popped off once but it’s a fine figure. For 15 bucks.
I mean I think it could be worth the 30 if it weren't for the Terrible QC issues.
That's an awesome deal. I understand just keeping this to look at it.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh I agree. That's more or less my plans when I pick up this guy in the future.
My Starscream doesn’t have the leg problem and I just tried it on both
You just HAD to prove me wrong.
Because of who this is and how he looks, I am somehow able to ignore all of the QC. This fig is amazing.... to me
I mean the base design is great. The figure could have been great. It's just QC. That's the only real problem with this thing.
Mine didn't have too much QC shit thank god, but some stuff was bad. I wish they didn't skimp out on the grey though. That combined with the tiny star saber and wing sword just make the QC on a lot of these just hurts.
I know, it's so ridiculous just how much they can cheap out in ways, that could have so easily been avoided.
Thanks for the heads up.
I already called him Not Dinobot in this video, you are not bringing me news.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, I commented this and then heard that three seconds after I resumed the video
