Fortunately, this ghazal is in my proud possession in the form of a LP album procured for my stereo record player long back ! Infact, this ghazal has been very close to my heart ever since I have listened to it for the very first time long back ! It has continued to be in my everyday menu till date and will remain so till I breathe ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulfully did Ustadjee perform it ! Here, in this ghazal, it was as if the beautiful lafz of the shayar had found its right expression in the majestic voice of Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam ! Great Ghulam ali saheb has retired from giving concerts n also from recording new albums & this all time fav ghazal became popular in India thru his album Live in India...released in the early 80‘s. In the year 2024 kapil sharma version was needed for people to hear it😊

Sir, you would notice that almost half of the most popular songs are based on just two raags ...Kirwani and Pahari. Even a very good number of Kishore Kumar songs are based on Kirwani like Nile Nile ambar par, O hansini only to name a few. Raag Kirwani is probably most popular tune of the world.
Ghulam is my male vocal god after Sebastian Bach...... Ali is relative note (rather off-scale not mode) but his timming is impeccable..... and he's gonna remain for that confusion for another 15 yrs max in tik tok world...... he is just just just scary........ ask jagjit who tried tulsi syrups at low octaves but ended up advertising cough sirups ??
