- As marketers, we've been doing it all wrong. Here's how to get it right.🚀
Most brands miss the mark. They chase tactics instead of understanding the customer. Don't be one of them. @garyvee reveals the ONE thing that will transform your marketing: empathy. It starts with asking, "Will the person on the other side actually like this?"
Most brands are struggling to reach customers today. They rely on outdated assumptions and yesterday's tactics instead of focusing on the consumer. This lack of empathy is why so many companies fail.
Gary Vaynerchuk, CEO of @VaynerMedia believes there is not enough emphasis on the actual consumer in marketing. Brands need to start caring and respecting people's time. The question you should always ask is "Will the person on the other side actually like this?"
Gary shares strategies for connecting with your audience in an era of short attention spans and information overload. He explains why listening is the number one strategy before you start talking. Social media provides invaluable consumer insights - pay attention to what people are complaining about. Tell compelling stories that come from the heart.
Success requires patience and a long-term vision. Build trust and a reputation over years, not days. Ironically, focusing on leaving a legacy versus short-term results will lead to greater profits because you'll build a stronger foundation.
Stop chasing tactics. Start with empathy. Let us show you how to transform your marketing by truly caring about your customers.

A brand, at it's purest form, is empathetic to the customers they are serving. It starts with empathy. Great video Gary & team!
The measure of building brand was based on the fact “I had to spend less money on advertising every yeah but was achieving higher sales every year”. Word of mouth and reputation was carrying the business 👏🏻 This is a masterclass piece of content, thank you!
With markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly-which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $125k bond/stocck portfoli0
It’s precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don’t have to act on every forecast, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.
Right, I've been in constant touch with a fiinancial-analyst since covid . You know these days it's really easy to buy into trending stock`s, but the task is determining when to buy or sell . My advisorr decides entry and exit commands on my portfoliio, I've accrued over $300k from an initially stagnant reserve of $150K.
that's impressive!, I could really use the expertise of this advisors , my portfolio has been down bad....who’s the person guiding you.
please may i know your trader?
Google her name,
I love Gary even more when he speaks quietly. Love this man.
Why though? I can’t help not liking him personally, I feel like he over hyped NFT’s so he could sell his to his own fans and kind of scam them. It’s only my opinion but I would generally love to know why you like him.1
@@fredtrivettbecause OP is a bot programmed to espouse positive sentiments and increase engagement for this scam artist.
@@fredtrivett Why are you spreading hate based on a feeling? Imagine if I was walking around in your hometown and said: "Watch out for that guy fredtrivett, I feel like he's only working his current job so he can gain their trust to steal from the customers"
And if you dont like him what are you doing on his page trying to get his fans opinion on why they like him?...
People be lacking purpose these days, just do you, build you, live you.
Definitely need more interviews that bring out this side of Gary!
I'll probably watch this to start my day everyday.
Woooo!!! Empathy, love, compassion, understanding and time... To value someone's time..
"To Thy Brand Be True".... Got it.... and thanks. I'm glad I found this video. Now I have a much better idea of what my next steps should be

4:58 Told From The Heart In A Pure Form
Of the thousands of messages by Gary that Ive listened to over the years, this is the most profound of them all - packed into 7 minutes. Thank You Gary for helping us become better at listening. You are teaching us how to respond appropriately in our marketing to ultimately improve our responses to how we meet the needs of the person speaking. 🙏🙏🔥🔥#grateful #rolemodel
Love your points on the power of Storytelling, listening to users via social and truly building something the market wants - dope video!
So glad I had patience and watched all of this
Damn Gary you said so much in 7 minutes. I’m listening to this at work and I didn’t realize it ended until another video came on. Good shit!!
Earnestly my thoughts has been massively influenced by this magnificent presentation. Thank you for sharing.
GARY!!!! I love this version of you!!!! It is so much more relatable. This set up, this style of interview of yourself is fantastic. I so want to see more of this side of you!!!
This is the best video I've seen you do Gary. As a senior copywriter, I so relate. I work for people who so often pushback on creative ideas with the equivalent of, That's we do things here. i.e talking to their customers like a robot. When a company gets big, it so often loses sight of human values like empathy.
Great Video, thanks Gary!!! Your teachings matter and now its time for me to go work lol
Would love to see more videos like this in the future
Gary Vaynerchuk's focus on consumer empathy and the power of listening as a cornerstone of successful marketing is spot on. It's a reminder that the most effective marketing strategies are those that prioritize genuine engagement over mere exposure. 👍
Hi Gary, This is pure gold!
Appreciate the focus on caring for the customer and creating content that actually matters.
The patience talk hits home.
Your old store in Clark has moved to a bigger location near the Post Office.
Honestly, one of my favorite videos in a long time Gary and team. The editing, music, clips, pauses. It all hit. And the best way I’ve heard to describe a metric of how your efforts are working. “I spent less money on advertising, but the brand and sales were growing”. Amazing way to think about / judge of your marketing efforts are working by deploying patience. Just, wow. And thank you for that perspective 😊
Thank You Gary.
This was seriously great! I would love more videos like this.
This was the content I needed today. I'm both starting a brand as a solo entrepreneur and participating in a rebrand for the upcoming 200th year celebration of a university, for my day job as web developer on a 10 person marketing team.
An aside... I wanted a name for my brand that was unique enough to be noticed without being confusing, hard to remember, or using made up words. I also wanted it to be personal and to convey my commitment and dedication to the success of my clients. It's called With Jeremy. Hi, I'm Jeremy. Let's grow your business With Jeremy.
Great stuff! This man did justice to such a complex concept- branding- in just about 7 minutes!!
This video was incredible! And that quote, "Before I start talking, I listen" - that's pure gold!
and you needed this guy to teach you that? lol
This video is meant for me, thank you gary
Thanks Gary!!! This is it! I will talk to you live one day soon. I will apply this lesson
Profound insight on patience. Something every person needs to hear, myself included.
this is gold right here! It is about caring for your customer more than ever. I can find information in social groups online about what they think about an industry.
love this format! love the calm way of spitting truths! Thanks for sharing Gary!
Would’ve thought someone would check the audio levels and have it fully polished for someone big like Gary . Lol, other than that. Great video!
Was thinking the exact same thing! lol
This film set and video edit is PHENOMENAL. 👌
Loved this! 🔥
Thank you Gary
Beautifully said

This is gold
Taking notes. 🙏
Finally! Higher production value! Big fan!~
Thank you sir.
This is a piece of art!
Thank you, Gary
This video is so fresh. The white background and pastel green sweater really give a laid-back, light hearted touch to the profound conversation going on. Also, kudos to the editors for integrating the sound effects, in this video, in a way that feels like it's part of the story. It's not too loud 👌
Im selling the jumper on depop for £120
awesome short vid!! love it
Patience is part of focus and dedication..
Gary's emphasis on empathy in marketing is spot on. To add, entrepreneurs should leverage 'social listening' tools to analyze customer sentiment and identify pain points, which can inform more empathetic and targeted messaging.
you are here iam in your community group 😅
I agree 100% spot on most people don’t try to hit pain points or understand their consumers problems.
Reaching out to your customers from a humble heart position, we are offering our clients what they want, but they are giving us what we want at the same time. Customer Service perspective.
....I am greatful fir this insight 😊❤
Thanks so much for this video. Currently building brand and using social media to market as you suggested and the results been insane in just the past 30 days. Been flipping on eBay full time for 5 years now.
This feels like a master class opening video!
Great brands are built over decades, not months or even years. Great stuff Gary!
love this new format brother 👍
This was great! Loved it!
thanks gary!
WOW... No Profanity!! Fantastic!!! PLUS... GREAT Content!! Loved it!! Been using your advice since 2009. Just starting my "JOE CAFFEINE" brand!! Thanks GV!!
Perfect!
Thank you brother!
What’s good with the audio Gary?👀
Totally! For example if you put out a video giving business advice but don't put any time in to mixing the audio to the point where it sounds like the audio is coming out of a fisher price radio from the 80's it can have a negative impact on your connection with the consumer.
This is a really solid edit!!
Stick to the Plan ! 💯
A good story will always get noticed. Yes.
That thumbnail was what hooked me.
Amen, GV!
Great video! Love the style and the edit, authenticity is king! Think Gary’s audio may sound a little distorted but didn’t stop me watching
I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE GARY
That’s the cool one. I sincerely appreciate obviously talented work of all crew members involved in production. Such an elegantly tailored storytelling made out of well known Gary’s manifests and acting mise en scènes. Also Gary’s visual appearance, framed and lightened in a bit more glancing style - make fresh difference in perception exactly because it’s happens not that often.
Thanks a lot. I got a real transformation from this video
BOOM!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOO X100 APPRECIATED, GARY!!
Thank you
Thank you.
A couple of weeks ago I came up with an idea for something I know I could have used in times of emotion crisis that would have prevented things from getting worse. I did all kinds of research and found the product doesn't exist anywhere in any form even close to what I dreamed up. I have my prototype created, I have suppliers lined up, I've done market research in forms of talking directly to my target audiences including medical and mental health professionals. They've all said that my product is NEEDED! I'm busting my butt to get the funds needed to place a big enough order to get my containers printed with my label printed directly on them. My cost is $3 and people are not putting up any kind of protest when I mention a $9.97 price tag. I could probably price them higher but I want it to be ultra accessible. I understand my customer because I am my target customer.
Great video about customer/biz relationship building! Audio was peaking, buying gear that records in 32 bit float will help with that.
"Patience" ❤🙏🏻🙌🏻🍀
Hey guys this video is amazing.. Industry level shooting. Thank you for this gem-filled video
Thank you for this video
You've been communicating this message for years, and this is EXCELLENT Work - Nicely packaged. One of the best videos, this year.
Thank you :)
"I guess Gary Vee has a point! Many brands overlook empathy in marketing, but it's SOOO important. Have you heard about companies like Reputation House? these guys really understand this and prioritize genuine connection with customers, not just tactics.
Thank you so much. Such powered words.
How incredible, we loved this!
I always thought I had patience. Never got upset when our daughter(now 28) cried or household problems occurred.(30 yrs together)
Just rolled with it and was happy to be experiencing life.
Meanwhile I spent 14 years behind a computer learning, relearning and learning again about business and online presence. Regretting not hopping on the Amazon Book Club train. Or the WordPress startup. But sticking to creating something to serve others. Long story short, from being a personal trainer and nutritionist to running Day Spas and Makeovers, I finally know what my service to others is. I look back and realize that 14 plus years of learning and earning and LISTENING has laid it all on my lap in a split second.
So I now carefully listen harder, take more notes and fine tune what is to come.
I see and feel what I listen to.
That’s the difference.
The full body experience that occurs from the listening.
That forms The Vision.
Thanks GV… I’ve listened to you too my friend.
And now I see clearly. ✌🏽💝
Something I can watch with my young ones- legacy content here: no cursing , no profanities - thanks Gary
Wow! Just wow 👍
Amazing video!!
Gary is awesome. no doubt, but he definitely does talk a lot more than he listens. It's really interesting to hear him say that considering how many times you watch him cut people off in meetings to save what he thinks. more often than not. he's probably right on knowing where things are and what he needs to say, but I think sometimes.he doesn't listen enough.
I say in love, I so agree with your comment. This version of him is awesome right?
Very insightful... GARYYYYY!
Love this better life 🎉❤
It takes patience and time. Good luck out there!
This one different ❤️
great info... making 2024 the biggest year yet
SO GOOD!!!!!
I totally agree Gary l
Love the idea that you need to respect the consumer. That doesn't mean they are always right.. it just means you are keeping their desires and problems in mind when you market to them.
Gary, you're just echoing the principles illustrated by the giants of advertising - Ogilvy, Bernbach, etc.
Nothing new here except they said it much better.
