This account didn't capture everything about the Asaba massacre. The main massacre was when the military lured the indigenous to come and welcome the military leadership. And the people were willing so long the front line has come past them. There were no more fears because the town had been captured. It was a peace time, supposedly. They came out in their numbers, the military separated the indigenous men from the women and children, and had them shot. This is how it has been told, written, and shared with the population over the years.
