My first job was cooking hamburgers at Woodstock at 17 years old. I heard sizzling and didn't pay attention to the music. I made $5 an hour, I was rich.

Jordan, to answer your question about Sha Na Na… It was Jimi Hendrix that got Sha Na Na on the bill. He saw them perform their shtick at Steve Paul’s ‘The Scene’ in NYC and was impressed. He turned the promoters on to them and rest was history. They actually performed right before Jimi Hendrix on Monday morning 8/18/1969.

Oh yeah we all wore love beads, hip hugger bell botton jeans (the more patches the better) neo colors were the rage along with wild pasley print. Years later we wondered how many babies were consieved at Woodstock lol. To be young during the Summer of Love. Hippies never age we just mellow out.

I literally do not count Woodstock 99 as Woodstock in general! It had the title, but the genre of music they brought did not bring peace, loving people it brought a different generation of people listening to experimental music along with people rebelling back in the 90s.
It has nothing to do with the artistes that they brought, but the kind of music they made was for those kinds of people.
If the festival was renamed something entirely different people wouldn’t complain because it wouldn’t harness the Woodstock Legacy. It would’ve been a different festival. In the Netflix documentary the people that were involved in the original festival even said this was nothing like the original Woodstock because it literally was not.. 😢

I too went to Woodstock....but in 1994. An Irish guy in USA trying to rediscover the 1960s. It was the same time that evil emerged from Spahn Ranch at the Polanski house. But they were not real hippies. The real hippies were at Yasgur's farm. It was a dream. Yes, there was mud and rain too. But there was something hauntingly beautiful there too. Joni Mitchell captured this fleeting beauty too amongst the mud and aroma of marijuana down in Yasgur's farm. It was fleeting but it had the beauty of a psychedelic rose ☘🇮🇪☘

You didn't know who Alvin Lee was when I asked you. He was one of the best guitar players in the world in the band you just read off of the plaque. The band he was in was "Ten Years After". Lee, you should know that. He also played with Presley's guitar player, Scotty Moore. Dude, educate yourself on TYA. You've mentioned everyone who didn't rock nearly as much. Ten Years After literally dwarfed everyone else with the exception of Hendrix. Watch the movie!

To think I lived in the Wallkill area for 4 years in the mid 1980’s and didn’t realize I passed that area of Woodstock several times. The farmland in Wallkill would have been a big mistake to have a concert. The promoters made the best choice in location. That part of Upstate New York is beautiful to connect with nature but the winter snow is brutally cold so back to my California I returned. The fall months were beautiful with the multicolored foliage. I have the Woodstock concert video and watch it often. Great performances & life changing experiences. Thanks Jordan for all your great vlogging. Give the Jahster a hug for me❣️❤️🙏🏻🐕‍🦺🌈

I was 8 years old when this occurred! It was such an interesting time to grow up in!
My Dad was a college professor and was not a fan of the Vietnam War & soldered together little peace symbol tie clips , to wear with his tie. And he made peace symbol pendants too, and handed them out to students and colleagues. He even grew his hair long & I remember his conservative Mother( my grandmother ) was mortified!!
I have to share a funny story from back then…Thinking
    my Dad liked
All THINGS “FLOWER POWER”, I saved up my allowance and snow shoveling money, and bought these giant day glow flower stickers that you could put on cars! And while my Dad was at work, I plastered my Dad’s antique vintage collector Morris Minor truck, with all these cool permanent stickers!!
Omg when my Dad got home from work I just couldn’t WAIT TO SHOW HIM my SURPRISE!!!
    Well…. My Dad wasn’t as
“COOL” as I thought! Lol! He was FURIOUS! It took me a WEEK to get all those stickers of that collector truck ! We still laugh about it from time to time!

The singer if I remember correctly had some major throat injuries in a car accident not long after they started getting known. She fell off radar, I think it was VH1 that did a story on them & brought the band back into the public eye. Also. If I'm not mistaken the singer started singing again.

@@DazewithJordantheLion I was wondering if you were going to visit this site. I did a five day trip and visited five museums. The baseball HOF, Woodstock, West Point and FDR library in upstate New York and the National Civil War museum in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on my way back home to Virginia. Are you planning on visiting any of the military museums in Virginia? The Army and Marines are down the road from each other and the Navy is down town Washington DC. You did an amazing job on the Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio

Remember the festival well. I was 17 and living in southern Albany County NY so wasn’t that far away. It was all over the newspapers and night time news. Following year the movie came out and the 3 record album soundtrack. Some bands I did not know of like Santana, Country Joe and the Fish. It was a turning point in time for sure.

First child I was carrying so I knew I wasn’t going to attend and good thing I gave birth to my only child, a boy. Come from a small Boston town, CHARLESTOWN , MA. I’ll bet you half of the hippy kids were there. They still talk about it.

Thank you. Well done! I went to Bethel a couple of months ago. My favorite part was talking with the ticket taker who brought up an interesting questiion: "Why isn't Max Yasgur in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?" Woodstock, the greatest rock and roll concert of all time, would not have happened without his heoic involvement. I hear a number of people saying that the hall would not exist without Michael Lang and Artie Kornfeld. I will say they would not even be considered for the hall had Max Yasgur not come to their rescue.

The last day of the festival in the morning before most people woke up, 2 jet fighters did a flyover with sonic booms. The military was trying to make a statement.

The Site of Woodstock is on my Pilgrimage bucket list. Currently in Massachusetts not too far away. Maybe this year. While I’m from California was actually traveling with my family on the East Coast at the time in 1969, but didn’t hear about it until the Movie

What’s up Jordan? How are you doing good brother just wanted to say hello and I hope all is well with you! As always I thank you for posting amazing videos you are absolutely an amazing person and I’m truly blust that you get to bring us really cool places that you visit and that’s awesome man I never knew were the 1969 Woodstock was at until you told me that’s pretty neat man do you even have a plaque to mark the spot that’s cool! Anyways I just want to say hello and I just wanted to say thank you for everything it would be cool to talk to you someday! One of my favorite videos that you post it was one you went to The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village and The Ty Cobb visit to Royston, Georgia, and I’m a huge Detroit Tigers fan so that’s awesome that you could do a video about one of the greatest baseball players of all time but he also played for the Detroit Tigers for most of his MLB career
