Yes definately this! There's still a lot of audio that is muted/subdued in the campaign i.e. SpecOps Commander Half Jaw saying to the Arbiter that he's going to "Take the Cruiser back!" (The Great Journey) or the marine responding to SGT. Banks (Metropolis) when they are going to kill the Scarab and saying "It's over here sir!".
Before MCC officially stops being updated 343 needs to add in the original credit roll at the completion of any game. Developers deserve recognition for their work! And honestly you shouldn't have to be taken to an outside link to see the credits for those who worked on MCC at 343, they also deserve recognition.
That was like the "ambient sky battle" from long night of solace level in reach being bugged and missing, it was an important part of the level atmosphere, and that was fixed the update previous to this one.
Dude Halo 2 classic’s audio is so broken (especially without headphones) that it basically renders the campaign unplayable. This has been broken forever and STILL isn’t fixed. Utterly ridiculous, and significantly more important than 1 second of Cortana glimpses in a cutscene.

Apparently Microsoft or 343i doesn't seem to care about the port differences and stuck with what 343i did instead of the bungie ports that are arguably way better than the re-ports for MCC despite it's one way upgrades with caveats.
Microsoft should make a team dedicated to fixing and maintaining older games so they continue working as intended. That way 343 and other studios can make new content and products. Whilst the 'janitor' team maintains and fixes any issues with those games.
That's what the MCC team was for a while. A separate team generally doing their own thing and trying their absolute damndest to polish and fix up these games. Then Infinite happened, we got word of the contract work hell that was that game's development cycle, and 343 was hit with mass layoffs. The MCC team was cannibalised. All we can hope for is that in a couple of years, Microsoft reinvests a small amount in MCC after things have smoothed over.
My wish for the real final update: - H2 and HR weapon skins, even if they are just reused versions of ones found in CE and 3 - A co-op browser? Just so I can play Spartan Ops as intended, as well as get those Steam Achievements. - Toggleable multiplayer armor for campaign, much like how weapon skins and campaign scoring are handled in the mission configuration - Fixing still broken HR physics (tested it today on Oni Sword Base elevator with Kat. Still floating) - Turning off friendly fire for FF Classic/Floodfight in matchmaking so we get fewer griefers. I hate being Firebombed/Rocketed/Splattered just for touching a power weapon - Adding all past FOMO Exchange unlocks back into the shop. 343 isn't making money off of those skins anyway, so no need to keep them locked up.
I agree with this, i also commented on one of the twitter posts asking for H3 Weapon skins in ODST firefight, as well as a few more customisable player options for ODST There was also a few player models that could be used for H2/ODST FF, such as being able to play as the arbiter/elites. Edit: I also mentioned a constant exchange rotation for new players missing out on old stuff
Wanted to add, you can't dual wield on Keyboard in reach and 4. Only on controller. Early mover is also busted in Reach, it launches vehicles, you actually can still get physics killed by the moving early mover object. This last thing is even more unlikely to get fixed but there are a number of tag features that were deprecated from ODST to Reach. Such as throwable equipment, trip mines (which also includes engineer bombs), etc.
In America this is, but from where I come from In Australia there’s no more servers unfortunately, and it really sucks as I don’t like Infinites multiplayer as much as I did the originals, but having to play in US lobbies with 180+ ping is terrible to say the least, the amount of times I’ll get outgunned due to my high latency failing to register my hits first *exhales* 😮💨

The way you checked the Exchange in the beginning to see if they fixed the broken item rotation 😭😩. Honestly that’s my biggest thing I’d like to see fixed. So many items I missed out on or just can’t get now. Glad they updated MCC and fixed some things though! Anyone who says any issue, no matter how small, isn’t worth them fixing is dead wrong. These are our games, MCC is our collection, and 343i has a duty to keep their word, preserve Halo history, and finish their fight.

I have never been able to keep my menu backgrounds for more than a day, usually they’d reset if I even closed the game and immediately relaunched it. I’m hoping that they actually fixed that this time, because they’d made attempts before.
@@xDinomanx Yeah, this happens every update. Every mod usually breaks (outside of the menu ones), so you just gotta wait for the mod creators to update their mods.
I have no issues with weapon carry overs in any Halo 2 mission. Your weapons don't carry over only if you have a Spnkr and/or an M6C pistol. However, there is still the issue of weapons not carrying over from Tsavo Highway to Storm on Halo 3.
Something to note about the backgrounds reset bug, was that temporary files were reset along with the backgrounds, so theater clips, recently played gametypes or forge maps, im really glad this got fixed and hope they do more campaign/script fixes.
Content wise MCC is fine, but we need the old social features back, pre and post game lobbies, proximity voice chat, map vetoing, a less crappy fileshare, stuff like that, fixes are very welcome though.
They need to fix Halo 2 Anniversary co-op. I've had problems with it booting me out of the mission as well as the other person. I'm not the only one who's had this problem either. Also, on certain Arbiter missions, it would kick us out if we turned invisible sometimes. It's weird. I also think it'd be cool if they brought firefight into custom game and forge so that you could customize where the waves drop in. That's probably just a dream but I think it'd be awesome!

There's still a lot of fixes that are needed for MCC. Its far from over. The Bungie/Legacy chest still needs to be fixed, its using the incorrect model during gameplay. I showed this to 343 using my unlocked version of Halo 3 on my 360 dev kit via screenshots between the original game and MCC, so the development team is aware of it, but who knows if they'll ever actually fix it. It wasn't an issue before when MCC came to PC, but its an issue now.
The BIGGEST thing i want them to fix is the sound issues for music, specifically classic Halo 2, the music is so quiet and it really messes up the badass moments in the game(specifically quarantine zones first section)
What I really want 343 to do for MCC is fix the issue to play with people using the steam deck, my parents and my brother wanted to all play Halo one time and I joined using the deck but didn't know it wasn't fully supported, so I couldn't play with them, big bummer but a fix would be perfect
I actually reported the G key switching grenade bug, glad to see it fixed. I have reload bound to G, so I would both reload and switch grenades at the same time, even though I did not bind G to switching grenades, so sometimes I'd get caught off guard not throwing a certain grenade when I was certain I had that grenade equipped. It only affected Halo 3 and ODST, probably because those two games have more than two types of grenades, so you'd cycle through grenades rather than alternate between two.
I'm very pleased with this update. Now they need to bring back the correct gamma for Halo 3 because its not accurate to legacy xbox 360. It was more vibrant and colorful on xbox 360. Come on people start playing MCC and get your friends to buy it! Support MCC! Send in those tickets!
One thing I'm wishing to see... is a fix to the most prominant bug H3:ODST's modding scene. Usually when you sub a campaign mod for this game and you finish a level, it throws you into the vanilla version of Mombasa Streets, meaning that you need to start the next level manually. Can be prevented by simply installing the mod to the files.... but that defeats the whole purpose of the workshop, plus it prohibits you from playing regular vanilla if you do it.
this is what im hoping they fix the most. this bug seriously hinders the usability of odst mods, especially for people not familiar with what to do with map files
Nice to have an update, but I still want to see... Dedicated server support, Workshop and mod support, and 4 player split screen. Those 3 are my wish list now for update.
So glad the main menu backgrounds and the bugged cortana cutscenes are functional now, those being broken was really annoying me cause I thought they were never going to get fixed lol Assuming this update didn’t break anything new, all we need now is the halo 2 audio fixes already, and a toggle to disable those annoying moa collectibles everywhere and I’ll be be 100% content
I still want them to fix the sliding issue on moving objects in Reach, it's so annoying in things like Oni Sword bases elevator or whenever you're trying to Pelican/falcon ride for glitches.

I'm glad 343i gave us another Halo MCC update and hopefully more in the future. Also Halo 4 Cutscenes Audio needs to be fixed. The IWHBYD Skull glitch needs to be fixed as well.
My biggest request for an MCC update is to add back Halo 2's original Grunt Birthday Party effect. The new one is just visual and Grunt Funeral is not nearly as useful.
We still need Crossplay for Xbox/PC/Steam for all Campaigns!!!! Not just 3 and ODST, it's been almost 10 years since MCC came out and we still can't do crossplay for Halo 2, CE, Reach and 4
1:32 so in Halo CE and 2 by default the switch grenades button is G and the throw grenades button is right click so that's probably why, maybe some leftover code from Halo 2 Vista. I actually use a Halo 2 style key mapping on Classic Halo because of all the muscle memory
I wonder if anyone was well aware of the hit reg parity issue in Halo 2 and can confirm it's fixed. I knew about it but wasn't aware of it precisely what was off. I wanna take that issue off my list
Good to see some level of bug fixes to MCC. I wish they'd still fix a bunch of the lighting bugs, like Halo 3's gamma and the H2A forge map Awash being so dark when you start before slowly fading up to a more normal brightness. Other bugs too, but those come to mind. Also I wish they'd add a couple little things to H2A's forge sandbox since it's already different from the classic H2 sandbox, and with H2A multiplayer being built off of Halo 4 that means we could get the Mantis or Gravity Hammer with just a little effort on 343's part.

Why would any Halo fan want MCC to stop being updated? There’s plenty of issues that still need to be fixed and minor content that could be added. I get it’s finished and is in the best state but why not more?
One thing I’d like is if CE custom multiplayer had skulls options like Halo 2 does. That way you can but on the blind skull and any machinimators will have any easier time doing that in CE

2022 was a rough year for MCC. It was the year I decided to 100% the game which took me 7 months (thanks to LASO mostly). Because I experienced the game so much during this time, I definitely can say 343 really messed the game up in so many small areas throughout each game around November 2022 I think when they added flood firefight. It's good to see them doing reverse damage and fixing other stuff. When will they fix the bloom they horribly added to Reach? Some new content would be nice but keeping these games in a modern playable state while still preserving the ORIGINALS is the upmost important.
I know one of the last couple of updates halo reach bloom was broken if you are at 4k resolution, the bloom flickers, but at 1080p it should be very close to original.
I play at 1440p and I think it's too much. Tbh I think we deserve the option to be toggled on or off. That is one bad feature I hate when games use.@@Spendingryan
I'm hoping they'll fix the Frigate Autocannons on "Tip of the Spear". Previously they erroneously fired green or blue rounds. Now they don't fire anything at all. I loved it when they'd strafe the background battlefield after swooping in and firing at the Covenant bubble shield. But now that's gone.
I love MCC. Gonna be so upsetting the day it possibly dies. Hopefully that never happens. Obviously the campaigns will always exist, it’s just gonna suck if the multiplayer community dies.
I absolutely agree General Heed that we need more updates, honestly if they wanted to do something to monetize a little extra content like dlc maps and etc and what not I would be done for that if it means more overall support
I’m still sad we didn’t get the operator armor from Halo Online onto Halo 3 multiplayer. I’ve already unlocked all the weapon/vehicle skins, and armor for h3 so my grind has been over for a minute. They don’t have to add it but it’d be nice if they did
i hope they still continue to update MCC for along time to come but i honestly want like a toggle for the film grain for halo reach idk why but it honestly bugs my eyes if i play the game for to long like its not like you cant see this film grain either the film grain in reach is very noticeable compared to other games in general let alone the other halos. [i really dont know if the others even have film grain tbh but reach definitely does.]
I just want daily challenges and I'll be happy. Maybe a private file limit increase and the ability to disable boundaries in Forge and Custom games, but mostly daily challenges.
Wait whoever’s saying Halo MCC doesn’t deserve anymore updates isn’t a true halo fan I’m sorry to say, as I can’t see why you wouldn’t want to fix at least the things that weren’t wrong with the original games. I’m personally still waiting for them to fix the audio issues in Halo 2 classic campaign, it’s essentially unplayable really with audio and music cues missing, the music was to me at least half the game. I’m also hoping we’ll see a fix with Halo Reach’s lighting that got stuffed up in the update before last, I usually like taking a lot of screenshots in theatre but its ruined by the glare everything gives off now. Also I play Halo MCC on Xbox Series X so I have no idea if these issues are present on the PC version as well
I've just wanted them to fix H2A Forge lighting since they introduced that 4k update that added absolutely hellish bloom, made performance worse, and generally goofed several H2A Forge things that seemingly NO ONE ELSE cares about. All I've ever gotten in response is "our team is looking into it". Yeah? I've found six different jobs in the time it's taken them to NOT fix bugs that they created. I'm gonna be dead before this game is patched to resemble the former release version. Halo won't die. Its fucking fanbase will.

I so badly hope they keep showing it love in the background atleast until they complete that fix checklist. This is great, they've done so much greatness with mcc, and it would suck so much if it doesn't get finished.
They may have decided to go back to updating it with it going to a new platform which hopefully means Halo 5. It would also be nice if they just got rid of qutting penalties in social since there isn't map voting anymore.
PSA: you can stop a good portion of crashes by disabling all new cosmetics for each game but it’s actually a console overheating issue that gets exacerbated by the new cosmetics not being optimized the best which pushes the system harder. If you are playing on one of the Xbox One consoles it’s easy to open and clean. Make sure to get a proper anti-static vacuum to get rid of all the dust making your console overheat, just don’t cheap out and get canned air. It can get rid of the dust but you run the risk of blowing dust into your hard drive and disk drive plus doing a less efficient job as a whole. You can even get most of it without unplugging the HDD or anything else inside if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.
Did they fix halo 2s coop campaign? Theres a few missions me and a friend couldnt beat on legendary bc the missions kept crashing. Delta halo, the great journey and 2 more.
Despite mcc being out for a while, and 343 focussing on new things, it’s great to see them still fixing little bugs like this. I hope infinite continues to get the same treatment, still a few little issues that need ironing out
One bug I’ve seen allot is halo 2. The arbiter and the oracle. Coop keeps crashing. Idk if this has been fixed but this one I’ve seen a lot along with first hand.
The lipsyncing in Halo 3’s cutscenes need to be fixed. In the 360 version the characters’ mouths match what they’re saying. In MCC their mouths just flap, the worst being when Johnson says “send me out with a bang”
The patch before this was in July, 7 months ago. Other games get patches every month. This game is not alive again by any means. If it gets more frequent patches, different story, but 1 patch every half a year is not good. Still anything is better than nothing. Or those Banners...
I'll be honest, I actually preferred it when it was just Cortana's voice. The visual hallucinations feel really forced and over-the-top, not to mention being just plain intrusive instead of immersive 90% of the time. They only exist so that people who didn't play Halo 1 and 2 have a vague idea what is going on. Still, I'm really glad MCC is still getting attention and bugfixes, people who say that it shouldn't be updated are nuts. 343 isn't going to be ready to make a new Halo for a long, long time, so they may as well dedicate a few resources to improving the quality of life for the well-beloved original game collection.

Thank Christ they fixed the Halo 3 cutscene Cortana moments. That was THE major one that I was terrified was gonna be left alone for the rest of time.

It works for me, no problem.
Definately still need some audio fixes for Halo 2 but also some mods are now broken because of this update (i.e. Cursed Halo).
The mods break every update pretty much eventually it’ll probably be compatible with the new update

The best FPS experience possible. No other game can you do what you can do in the OG Halo titles. Best franchise ever. Period.
They need to fix Halo 2 Anniversary co-op. I've had problems with it booting me out of the mission as well as the other person. I'm not the only one who's had this problem either. Also, on certain Arbiter missions, it would kick us out if we turned invisible sometimes. It's weird.
I also think it'd be cool if they brought firefight into custom game and forge so that you could customize where the waves drop in. That's probably just a dream but I think it'd be awesome!

Console mod support is a crazy thing that won’t likely ever happen because of the fact that it’s all dependent on pc and steam workshop.

There's still a lot of fixes that are needed for MCC. Its far from over. The Bungie/Legacy chest still needs to be fixed, its using the incorrect model during gameplay. I showed this to 343 using my unlocked version of Halo 3 on my 360 dev kit via screenshots between the original game and MCC, so the development team is aware of it, but who knows if they'll ever actually fix it. It wasn't an issue before when MCC came to PC, but its an issue now.
Hopefully this is a sign of things to come

The BIGGEST thing i want them to fix is the sound issues for music, specifically classic Halo 2, the music is so quiet and it really messes up the badass moments in the game(specifically quarantine zones first section)
What I really want 343 to do for MCC is fix the issue to play with people using the steam deck, my parents and my brother wanted to all play Halo one time and I joined using the deck but didn't know it wasn't fully supported, so I couldn't play with them, big bummer but a fix would be perfect

I actually reported the G key switching grenade bug, glad to see it fixed. I have reload bound to G, so I would both reload and switch grenades at the same time, even though I did not bind G to switching grenades, so sometimes I'd get caught off guard not throwing a certain grenade when I was certain I had that grenade equipped. It only affected Halo 3 and ODST, probably because those two games have more than two types of grenades, so you'd cycle through grenades rather than alternate between two.
Amazing news, game preservation is soooo important. It's our history, and it deserves to be kept alive
I'm very pleased with this update. Now they need to bring back the correct gamma for Halo 3 because its not accurate to legacy xbox 360. It was more vibrant and colorful on xbox 360. Come on people start playing MCC and get your friends to buy it! Support MCC! Send in those tickets!

One thing I'm wishing to see... is a fix to the most prominant bug H3:ODST's modding scene. Usually when you sub a campaign mod for this game and you finish a level,
it throws you into the vanilla version of Mombasa Streets, meaning that you need to start the next level manually. Can be prevented by simply installing the mod to the
files.... but that defeats the whole purpose of the workshop, plus it prohibits you from playing regular vanilla if you do it.
this is what im hoping they fix the most. this bug seriously hinders the usability of odst mods, especially for people not familiar with what to do with map files
Nice to have an update, but I still want to see... Dedicated server support, Workshop and mod support, and 4 player split screen.

Assuming this update didn’t break anything new, all we need now is the halo 2 audio fixes already, and a toggle to disable those annoying moa collectibles everywhere and I’ll be be 100% content
I still want them to fix the sliding issue on moving objects in Reach, it's so annoying in things like Oni Sword bases elevator or whenever you're trying to Pelican/falcon ride for glitches.

My biggest request for an MCC update is to add back Halo 2's original Grunt Birthday Party effect. The new one is just visual and Grunt Funeral is not nearly as useful.
We still need Crossplay for Xbox/PC/Steam for all Campaigns!!!! Not just 3 and ODST, it's been almost 10 years since MCC came out and we still can't do crossplay for Halo 2, CE, Reach and 4
1:32 so in Halo CE and 2 by default the switch grenades button is G and the throw grenades button is right click so that's probably why, maybe some leftover code from Halo 2 Vista. I actually use a Halo 2 style key mapping on Classic Halo because of all the muscle memory

Good to see some level of bug fixes to MCC. I wish they'd still fix a bunch of the lighting bugs, like Halo 3's gamma and the H2A forge map Awash being so dark when you start before slowly fading up to a more normal brightness. Other bugs too, but those come to mind. Also I wish they'd add a couple little things to H2A's forge sandbox since it's already different from the classic H2 sandbox, and with H2A multiplayer being built off of Halo 4 that means we could get the Mantis or Gravity Hammer with just a little effort on 343's part.
I’m glad they put in some fixes, the only way I’ll be completely content with MCC is if they finally add campaign cross play for the rest of the games, we only have cross play for 3 and ODST for some odd reason.
Why would any Halo fan want MCC to stop being updated? There’s plenty of issues that still need to be fixed and minor content that could be added. I get it’s finished and is in the best state but why not more?

One thing I’d like is if CE custom multiplayer had skulls options like Halo 2 does. That way you can but on the blind skull and any machinimators will have any easier time doing that in CE

2022 was a rough year for MCC. It was the year I decided to 100% the game which took me 7 months (thanks to LASO mostly). Because I experienced the game so much during this time, I definitely can say 343 really messed the game up in so many small areas throughout each game around November 2022 I think when they added flood firefight. It's good to see them doing reverse damage and fixing other stuff. When will they fix the bloom they horribly added to Reach?
Some new content would be nice but keeping these games in a modern playable state while still preserving the ORIGINALS is the upmost important.
I know one of the last couple of updates halo reach bloom was broken if you are at 4k resolution, the bloom flickers, but at 1080p it should be very close to original.
I play at 1440p and I think it's too much. Tbh I think we deserve the option to be toggled on or off. That is one bad feature I hate when games use.@@Spendingryan

Love this game, but people are absolutely delusional thinking it should be supported indefinitely ( with no revenue stream) .
I'm hoping they'll fix the Frigate Autocannons on "Tip of the Spear". Previously they erroneously fired green or blue rounds. Now they don't fire anything at all. I loved it when they'd strafe the background battlefield after swooping in and firing at the Covenant bubble shield. But now that's gone.
I love MCC. Gonna be so upsetting the day it possibly dies. Hopefully that never happens. Obviously the campaigns will always exist, it’s just gonna suck if the multiplayer community dies.
I absolutely agree General Heed that we need more updates, honestly if they wanted to do something to monetize a little extra content like dlc maps and etc and what not I would be done for that if it means more overall support
I’m still sad we didn’t get the operator armor from Halo Online onto Halo 3 multiplayer. I’ve already unlocked all the weapon/vehicle skins, and armor for h3 so my grind has been over for a minute. They don’t have to add it but it’d be nice if they did

i hope they still continue to update MCC for along time to come but i honestly want like a toggle for the film grain for halo reach idk why but it honestly bugs my eyes if i play the game for to long like its not like you cant see this film grain either the film grain in reach is very noticeable compared to other games in general let alone the other halos. [i really dont know if the others even have film grain tbh but reach definitely does.]

Wait whoever’s saying Halo MCC doesn’t deserve anymore updates isn’t a true halo fan I’m sorry to say, as I can’t see why you wouldn’t want to fix at least the things that weren’t wrong with the original games. I’m personally still waiting for them to fix the audio issues in Halo 2 classic campaign, it’s essentially unplayable really with audio and music cues missing, the music was to me at least half the game. I’m also hoping we’ll see a fix with Halo Reach’s lighting that got stuffed up in the update before last, I usually like taking a lot of screenshots in theatre but its ruined by the glare everything gives off now.
Also I play Halo MCC on Xbox Series X so I have no idea if these issues are present on the PC version as well

I've just wanted them to fix H2A Forge lighting since they introduced that 4k update that added absolutely hellish bloom, made performance worse, and generally goofed several H2A Forge things that seemingly NO ONE ELSE cares about. All I've ever gotten in response is "our team is looking into it". Yeah? I've found six different jobs in the time it's taken them to NOT fix bugs that they created.
I'm gonna be dead before this game is patched to resemble the former release version. Halo won't die. Its fucking fanbase will.
Ridiculous how this game is a decade old now, and I still experience many severe bugs, some of them forcing me to restart or hard-crashing.

They may have decided to go back to updating it with it going to a new platform which hopefully means Halo 5. It would also be nice if they just got rid of qutting penalties in social since there isn't map voting anymore.

PSA: you can stop a good portion of crashes by disabling all new cosmetics for each game but it’s actually a console overheating issue that gets exacerbated by the new cosmetics not being optimized the best which pushes the system harder. If you are playing on one of the Xbox One consoles it’s easy to open and clean. Make sure to get a proper anti-static vacuum to get rid of all the dust making your console overheat, just don’t cheap out and get canned air. It can get rid of the dust but you run the risk of blowing dust into your hard drive and disk drive plus doing a less efficient job as a whole. You can even get most of it without unplugging the HDD or anything else inside if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.
Did they fix halo 2s coop campaign? Theres a few missions me and a friend couldnt beat on legendary bc the missions kept crashing. Delta halo, the great journey and 2 more.
I still feel like online coop can be unstable or wonky at times. Definitely hope they keep doing fixes.

Despite mcc being out for a while, and 343 focussing on new things, it’s great to see them still fixing little bugs like this. I hope infinite continues to get the same treatment, still a few little issues that need ironing out
One bug I’ve seen allot is halo 2. The arbiter and the oracle. Coop keeps crashing. Idk if this has been fixed but this one I’ve seen a lot along with first hand.
The lipsyncing in Halo 3’s cutscenes need to be fixed. In the 360 version the characters’ mouths match what they’re saying. In MCC their mouths just flap, the worst being when Johnson says “send me out with a bang”

The patch before this was in July, 7 months ago. Other games get patches every month. This game is not alive again by any means. If it gets more frequent patches, different story, but 1 patch every half a year is not good. Still anything is better than nothing. Or those Banners...

Really hoping they'll do something to help fix input deley when playing co-op campaign.
I'll be honest, I actually preferred it when it was just Cortana's voice. The visual hallucinations feel really forced and over-the-top, not to mention being just plain intrusive instead of immersive 90% of the time. They only exist so that people who didn't play Halo 1 and 2 have a vague idea what is going on.
Still, I'm really glad MCC is still getting attention and bugfixes, people who say that it shouldn't be updated are nuts. 343 isn't going to be ready to make a new Halo for a long, long time, so they may as well dedicate a few resources to improving the quality of life for the well-beloved original game collection.
