- The message of this cantata - recorded here for All of Bach with Shunske Sato - is fairly general and one that the devout church-goer in Bach’s day would have known only too well: praise and glory to he who created the earth and mankind. Partly due to this general character, we can only guess at the precise occasion for which Bach wrote this cantata. It is obvious, however, that it was a festive one; maybe a wedding or a thanksgiving service. The alto aria ‘Ich will dich all mein Leben lang’ is sometimes described as one of Bach’s most inspired moments.

Hervorragend. Die Leichtigkeit der Interpretation imponiert mir sehr, beinahe leicht und luftig, gleichwohl intensiv. Sicherlich auch ein Verdienst der barocken Instrumente. Der "liebe Gott der Musik" hätte seine wahre Freude gehabt.

Lebhafte und wunderschöne Aufführung dieser fein komponierten Kirchenkantate mit gut harmonisierten Stimmen des ausgezeichneten Chors und herrlichen Stimmen dreier genialen Solisten sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Originalinstrumente. Der intelligente und unvergleichliche Violinist-Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Barockorchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Wunderbar vom Anfang bis zum Ende!

These cantatas would be so wonderful *_without countertenors!!!_* I cannot stand their highly artificial, affected voices, they rattle in my head like gongs! I would so much prefer that boys would sing the soprano and alto parts, since “authenticity” is obviously what they’re trying to achieve.
Quelle erreur ce contre ténor ! Je ne comprends pas cette volonté de remplacer une alto de femme par celle d'un homme et chez Bach, c'est pour moi un sacrilège.
