My favorite character in Final Fantasy. Not gonna lie the fact that he's voiced by my favorite VA helps. But he's honestly a dreamer who cares deeply for his friends and everyone around him. And gameplay wise he's the ground *GOD* it always felt incredibly satisfying using Double Trouble, Lord of Arms, and in NT Vortex of Arms. I just love Firion as a character so much.
Not to mention he's the embodiment of sheer effort. It really starts to sink in once you realize he's just a normal human compared to soldiers, warriors of the goddess or chosen by crystals or destiny whereas he started out as someone from a village and from there he ended up mastering every single weapon, learns some of the most powerful spells and overthrows an empire and the king of heaven and hell through sheer effort.
Have you noticed that Firion, Prishe and Terra are the only ones who don't say something degrading or critical towards Vaan? It kinda makes me sad... EDIT: I can't believe I forgot Yuna. Thanks, Spideyfan X!
Well, I was just listing names off the top of my head since it's been ages, but I just looked up Yuna's encounter quotes, and you're right! I had actually considered writing a fanfic about the two of them back in the day. I like to think that Firion reminded Vaan (albeit subconsciously) of his brother...

I really think you should play more of the other Final Fantasy VII titles, especially Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII, to get a better idea of why I said this to him.
So, when he confronts Jecht, he's all about fighting him to prove what's more powerful, fists or weapon. But when he encounters Prishe, he's surprised she's all about bare-hands. Does anyone see what's happening here ?
It's such a shame that Firion really doesn't have much personality besides his Dissidia appearance. I tried playing FF2 because he became my favorite Dissidia character and it... It's um.. It's.. Well, I'll just say I'd prefer playing 1 or 3 more ^^; And he barely seemed to talk, if at all. I wish they made a sequel or remake for FF2 with more character-driven writing like the newer FFs are known for. Even if it was only for PSVita or mobile it'd really be wonderful to see more of him. The idea of a pacifistic protagonist is so lovely. (Btw, wasn't the first chocobo in 2? Chocobos seem to be directly taken from the movie Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind which came out many years prior. I wonder if Firion's pacifistic ideology was inspired by the film as well.)

Like you saw he was just a regular human and compared to these demigods or warriors chosen by crystals or goddesses or soldiers Firion at the start of the game didn't have any of that yet he was able to master any weapon, use some of the most powerful spells and overthrow the emperor and his heaven and hell counterparts. That was from a man that started out as ordinary as they come and then began training and learning.
+Troggy Siege Kind of the same guy. In the original FFIII (for the NES) there was no distinct characters and Onion Knight was their starting class. Once the DS remake came about, they decided to make them distinct characters.
