Lovely looking guns and accurate with the right pellet. I sold mine because of the loud noise of the action, just like all the other Huntsman derivatives I’ve had. The Harper valve is just downright loud regardless of what silencer you put on to tame the muzzle. I was surprised you criticised the shot count. I was getting at least 130 shots per fill (250bar) in .177 at around 11.4fpe and I thought that was very good for the size of the cylinder. All in all I’d put it in the top 10 of hunting air rifles but it just doesn’t have the refinement of many of it’s competitors.
What I've found , and it shouts it out loud , is that you need ( especially with QYS , even going from 8.48 to 9.56 ) is that you have to stick a few magazines through it first , after using other pellets , weather is another brand OR another weight of QYS , this has applied to ALL my .177's without exception .. so in essence the last group of 9.56 WILL tighten up ..
The Revere is a seriously accurate rifle. I would suggest using the streamlined QYS instead of the domed in future though. Also, you should really slow down your shooting. Correct breathing will allow you to shoot better, along with a more controlled squeeze of the trigger.
@@southwestshooters for hunting the shot count would be ok ( depending on what your shooting and where ) but I can easily go through a tin of pellets in a day of just having fun plinking
I've had several daystate rifles and found that they always, always like heavier pellets, I got a huntsman classic as my first pcp ,still have it today and won't be giving it up ,120 shots unregulated does me for a night's hunting
I like daystate guns, i have the wolverine R in 177 fantastic rifle makes me look good 👍, on Saturday I'll be picking up my first ever bsa r 12, never owned or used a BSA, so be nice to compare the two.
I’ve had one of these on my list since the day it was introduced - I wasn’t a fan of the Regal. However, I always managed to talk myself out of buying one and bought Air Arms instead. I don’t have any regrets but there’s still that nagging ‘want’ element when I see a Revere. It would be interesting to know what the shot count was - not your usual inclusion, I understand that. I don’t get a huge number from my S510 - maybe 80. But it’s not regulated. It is .22, however, so not as voracious a gulper of precious air as a .177. I wonder whether a .22 Revere with a reg would shoot longer that the AA Ultimate Sporter R in .22, for instance…
I don’t think you can run to judgement on the accuracy of the pellet types - most old pcp shooters will tell you that a cold barrel will make a massive difference to accuracy, so whatever you shoot last is likely to be more consistent. The only way to get really accurate would be to shoot all three from cold, which is difficult due to ambient temperature
Thank you for another amazing review. Especially your honesty about what you like and dislike. The would you buy it is big and says alot. Its giving me a bit of pause as I look at them. Hows the noise level? I'm looking at a revere R Safari thats on sale here in the states. I love the looks of that stock. I was looking at the wolverine until I saw it was only left load. I am looking at shooting HFT so that gets in the way of the ranging wheel. I shot an S510 and that made it cumbersome.
Hi Christopher.Yes a lovely looking gun of high quality. It could do with a bigger shot count. Also you can get a brand new weirauch or AA for that money. Good review though,Atvb.👍🏻👍🏻😀
My brand new one is losing pressure , 150bar to 100bar in a few hours. The QC must be bad to let this gun out ... yep I am pissed off , because getting this gun was a 30 mile trek and they didnt have the scope mounts to fit it to me. Its sorted , was me not noticing when pumping it up , the probe locks and when it does that it loses pressure , so when I pumped it up a bit I was just putting a bit of air that had been lost back in.
I own a gun like yours and I'm curious, what compressor do you use to refill your rifle? So many choices on the market but I can't tell which would be the most hassle free and easy to use.
@@southwestshooters I have an Omega tank but its ponderous and once the pressure in the tank drops, due to refills, it's pretty limited. I dislike it for that reason. Thinking of buying a pcp compressor.
Having watched a lot of reviews of this gun now, it seems that the 0db moderator tightens the group's up noticeably. Can anyone who uses one add any credibility to this? Thanks
@@stephenpridgeon7372 im debating getting the safari edition because I love the looks of the stock. If I do i may get a 0db or a donnyfl for it. if I do ill try to share results
Don't know about all you other viewers but everytime this guy picks up a gun and always puts his moist hands all over the metalwork I'm cringing saying wipe it please wipe it. Is it just me? I try to keep away from touching metal and if I do I will give it the oily cloth seconds after, I'm sure it's not just me my guns are a thing of beauty and long will they stay that way
I have Revere & Regal and both are sublime to shoot.

Lovely rifles , 👍 all you need for Uk hunting. Good looking and handle great.
I totally agree, the gun is stunning to look at but I like a higher shot count. I'd rather be shooting than filling.
Yep. That's my only criticism too.

Was it a windy day when reviewing this rifle Chris? £950 second hand seems very expensive when you can get a brand new one for £1065 to me
Yes. There was a mild breeze. I don't have anything to do regarding the price.

Nice!!
Should of tested jsb 10.34 heavies with the QYS as the jsb heavies often perform as good 16:25 and sometimes slightly better than the jsb’s,

your shooting too quick u dont use wind flags you are using a shaky rest..not good for accuracy
