    Very reliable engines, Suzukis are a hidden misunderstood gems, they make great cars and specially this engine can go for so long without any major break down or wear

    I think the best approach is to first read service manual info then do the work but I really want to see what is inside of the water outlet cap so thanks for documenting your work :)

      I have more time than money. I film and you see my mistakes or successes. Not sure if I show it but the new thermostat failed and I had to replace it again and it was just as hard even after learning from the first time. Horrible spot for that thing.

      @@AnythingAuto oh sorry to hear I think 10 years old OE thermostat is better than new junk part. I replaced mine at around 100K and it looks brand new no problem I replaced it with a brand new OEM and keep the old one as a spare.

    Why did you do the extra work and remove the plastic protection on the bottom? On the drain plug, which you unscrewed on the radiator, to drain the coolant, a short plastic tube comes out from top to bottom, and there is a hole in the plastic protection that you unscrewed, there is also an arrow for convenient orientation, indicating the direction to the desired hole. Into this hole
    a branch pipe (rubber hose) is inserted, which can be directed at a convenient angle into the drain container and then the drain plug is opened and the coolant is drained!

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did that extra work because I never did it before on this car which is also why I tore apart the wrong side of the engine compartment. Learning experience.

    Would you consider doing a video on changing the transmission fluid? Assuming you have the CVT Kizashi.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not. You need a lot of space and the shop charges so little it's worth it to have them do it. They have a step by step on kizashi forums.

    • @kakarot3

      I changed my cvt fluid. Simply a drain and replace. Very very easy. Just need the right fluid and replace exactly what you drain.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you do not need a vacuum. I've done dozens without this is just way faster of a way and keeps air out of the system. The coolant will nit effect the ac unless you are over heating. If you are overheating the car shuts the compressor down as a safety measure. Are you over heating?

    My mother has a 2012 Suzuki kizashi. For months now there's been car trouble where if she drives for about 6 minutes it will go on the hot dial, it would smoke in front of the hood while driving, as of recently the car is stuck somewhere because the wheel locked up , and belt popped off. It popped off before but she got it fixed for a while but it just popped off again. Fans need to be replaced, the AC is broken.

    • @AnythingAuto

      Sounds like the serpentine belt is causing all those problems. Water pump and AC are both on the belt. You need to replace the belt and tensioner pulley. Wheel is probably locked up either because the brakes are rusted or the computer is doing it.

      To diagnose it cheaper by yourself you can go on Amazon and purchased a cooling system pressure kit and all you have to do is add it was add your right cap on then put the pump on and just wait for the coolant to pour out and then you can go from there

      Agreed. I would personally like to meet some of the people involved in their "engineering" team. Starting with the fact that my new one had some electrical fault that kept burning out the driver side low beam every 6 months. Bought the best halogens money could buy, same. When I had to remove the front damned bumped in the middle of winter I said that's it and installed HID and never looked back, but yeah, to have to remove the friggin bumper? Really? I just replaced the two bulbs in my gf's Kia Sportage, and I was just dumbfounded. Take off cap, 1/4 turn, remove bulb. Put in new bulb, turn 1/4 turn, put cap back on. I replaced both in like 5 minutes. You wouldn't believe my anger at the sadistic suzuki "engineers" when I saw that.
