    Check engine light popped up for this 2 months ago.. and I was finally gonna say fudge it and take it to the shop for a replacement fee of $280.... when the gasket is less than $30. (Lol) You just saved me a nice chunk of change. Sincerely, thank you Jeffrey.

      $20 gasket and 30 minutes of time (without filming or scooping out oil because people dont change oil) and your good to go. Glad it helped

    Thanks for this man. Really came in handy for me today. My old gasket came off in pieces, it broke apart like plastic, no flex to it at all!

    I finally got around to doing this today. Your tutorial made this so easy! My valve cover was a little bit more difficult to remove but wasn't too bad. I could see where the gasket had separated from the cover around the 2 inner coils. There was definitely a small leak on the front of the engine. My oil definitely looked better since I've kept up with my oil changes. Thank you once again for the tutorial!

    I have to do mine this week. I hope it doesn’t look like this one! I’ve only had the car a couple of months, and the oil was good and clear (only a little dirty now). Fingers crossed!!!

    thanks, Jeffery for sharing.it's a shame really. I think you need to use sealant on 2 special places of the gasket to prevent leaking I use Mazda high-temperature RTV silicon sealant.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not to Many seals require that anymore unless you cannot find a seal and use it as the seal itself. 8 years with no leaking shows it's doing just fine. I've worked on honda and sonata where the seals are leaking 4 years old

    Use high mileage oil has an additives to condition seals and gaskets from shrinking / cracking.

      That thing was beyond oil additives. How much miles did the car had when you changed gasket cover? Nice to see quality build even after no oil change. The camshafts look great even after so being mishandled bad. I have the same 6 speed manual with only 60k miles, looks still like the brand new car.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For future videos I state miles. I don't know because it wasn't my car. I would say around 100k.

    How did this work out? According to the service manual, there are 6 spots that need to be hit with RTV gasket sealant before putting the valve cover back on. Did you run into any leaks that you are aware of?

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Felpro or Apex one piece gaskets do not require rtv. 0 leaks

      There's a TSB on the CVT transmission due to the fluid going bad and getting too hot, so make sure to change the cvt fluid every 30,000-50,000 miles or so

    Thank you, what could happen if we don’t change the rubber gasket? Also where to buy it? Thanks. The link does not really work.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are asking what if you have a leak and dont change the gasket? The Answer to that question is you'll just have to keep filling up your oil and pray you do not forget and run out by since it's at the top of the engine it will leak down on to everything else. If it leaks down the front a could drip on to the exhaust manifold and you'll have some pretty nasty smells and maybe some smoke. I Checked on that Web link and they are out of stock but the 2.4 L is a very common engine so any auto parts store will have it it just might run you a little bit more than rock auto.

    • @dannyiskandar
      @dannyiskandar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeffery Wayne Thanks Jeffrey. What do you recommend to clean the engine. The gasket engine is spilling lots of oil

    • @vikkydua
      @vikkydua 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a nice question though I was thinking the same but suddenly the leakage dripped on tensioner belt and it start moving out I was really annoyed as it was coming out and I was told that tensioner adjuster is not working properly so I have to change that, in the beginning 2 to 3 belts worn out as it slipped due to oil dripped on them but I didn't know exactly what the reason was than finally a good wise mechanic told me that it is oil dripping on the belt and it comes out due to that which makes the engine heated and coolant spilage as well 2 times, finally I went to suzuki workshop and ordered the gasket and tensioner, pulley waiting for the it to get replaced and will write again hope everything goes well, will update soon.

      Steering is electrical, so it could be that some connectors needs to be cleaned. Maybe moisture is the cause.

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grabbed the code ready and it said camshaft position sensor needs to be checked. It's a generic code so it could be any part having to do with the chain but I'd start there.

    • @nv_skillzz
      @nv_skillzz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah put a camshaft sensor on it and i took oil cap off and marked chain to see if it was broke and nothing there everything fine could it be the vvt solenoid? or do i need to take valve cover off and check tensioners

    Jeffrey, I don’t want to offend you, but the condition of the engine is just awful. A lot of sludge and varnish deposits. What kind of oil do you pour into the engine? Maybe you should switch to another? And maybe it was not worth buying a gasket made in Taiwan, when the original gasket costs the same?

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not my car. I said that in the video. I owned it 5 years ago. I also stated she doesnt barely change the oil. I'm hired to do a job not to control how people treat the cars before and after it leaves my garage. No offense taken. Also, in the US it was the only one I can find. OEM was like $60 after shipping. Again, not my car so I cannot make someone buy a part. I had to pause recording because I was so disgusted. I didnt show the 2 hours of cleaning it all out with a plastic spoon lol. So gross
