@deecee6806 Male cows are killed pretty soon after they're born since only females have any value in the dairy industry. Female cows can only produce milk if they're pregnant, so they're perpetually kept pregnant and their babies are taken away immediately after birth so we can drink their milk. The dairy cows are often kept confined and have to go through painful and horrific practices like branding and dehorning. Then they're killed once their milk production drops.
The more "humane" farms still requires TONS of land and water to sustain the livestock, which often come at the expense of the environment, native wildlife and indigenous people. Animal agriculture is the #1 reason for Amazon deforestation.
So yeah it's actually a pretty cruel industry.

Sami, I live in Vancouver, WA, the one you seem to claim to have visited? They charge with tax over $21. Portland has run itself down, so nobody will visit anymore. They will never come back either.
I grew up on a MEAT cattle farm here. Let me tell you honestly and bluntly, milking a milk variety of female cow does not cause suffering. If you support humane treatment of animals, a small local dairy will have cows allowed to walk around a field to graze, and feed it supplemental healthy iron in salt licks, and gently pat the Bessy as they make her tits feel less painful by milking the udder. A calf cannot drink it all. She will hurt if not milked.
As a Vegan, are you planning to not bear your own children? Or are you planning to not breast feed, a natural thing humans do? Because a human will also not feel good if not milked, which is one reason many human moms use a machine to remove some of the milk to donate to other moms or to put in the fridge for later for their baby.
I can tell you are a lifelong city girl, because you are 100% clueless about what a farm is like, what farm animals are like, how biology works, and where your food comes from. You really should get outside of your comfort zone and visit a local small dairy farm in Oregon and learn how they are anything but cruel.
However, you trying to control businesses and other people by sharing a cult’s lies in order to make profits go to major corporations that hurt the planet, like the over watering of almond trees, and the packaging and shipping from long distances that harm the environment too.
You can get rid of this embarrassing ignorance by just doing a little research and using your own eyes and brain. Please do.
