    This shows the true facts of fishing. It's not all monsters and glory. It takes time, money, and effort. Keep grinding Chris.

    Love the honesty of your videos. You show us the good and the bad, without the super-annoying heavy metal soundtrack that every other guy seems to have. Thanks Chris, from a fellow Philly native. Hope to run into you someday on the beach.

    I caught 2 tarpon off the fishing pier in South Point park Miami beach last summer.Being from the UK, nobody was more surprised than myself.I had some brilliant sport off the beach further north near Boca, big Jacks and bluefish in the surf on poppers.

    I miss your freshwater adventures down there. I grew up in central FL but now in Ohio. Folks up here don't believe my fishin stories, gators, cichlids, giant gar, oddball aquarium fish, snakes, drunk southerners, hellacious thunderstorms. Even if you don't catch anything its still an experience.

    Hey get out of my spot lol great spot especially in winter lots of bones and permits with a crab of course! And if you had a yak you could explore more of that islands opportunities as well as the island past the next bridge a boat would be best that way you could cover allot more territory. And yes it’s a mojara. Come to Miami for the mullet run snook and tarpon everywhere. Again Miami has become an anti fishing city so spots are few and far between tight lines from Captain Dax

      the first one from the bay. There was a tackle shop nearby that had pictures of them, plus I had one hit a spoon and jumped, so big that I just froze and didn't set the hook. Plus with my light tackle little chance, it hit next to a piling at the channel...looked to be around 50 pounds.

  • @vols1171
    @vols1171 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, Key Biscayne at the end point is no good, but were you were fishing at under the causeway bridge at the 12:20 mark on this video is good at night. Really big Jacks, Cuda, Snook, & Tarpon roll through there at night smashing mullet. Live bait or a blue crab under a ballon in the current will produce good results.

    You didn't catch a lot, but you caught some. That's fishing... at least you showed the truth of it. I like watching the videos of people catching fish after fish, but you have to wonder how many hours of not catching they didn't show. You at least showed the reality in that you were not catching a lot. Thanks

    Sorry to hear about the bad fishing. Secret to Miami/South Florida fishing is that you have to go either at sun-up, sun-down, or at night due to the high pressure and set ski/boat douchebags. Keys a little better during day but Miami/Ft. Laud. require early/late timing.

    It is so hard to find water access in Florida.. Ive spent hours on Google maps finding spots only to get there and have it posted no trespassing..
    If you have your kayaks with you then its on . Idk if you use it but there is a app called "go paddling" or "launch points" that shows you every legit local access spot.

    There isn't too much for shore fishing in Miami. I'm glad you didn't get kicked off the Virgnia Key beach. The police usually don't allow fishing from the beach. Overall I'm sorry the fishing trip isn't going to well in Miami. Rude people, horrible traffic, Biscayne Bay being way over-fished and polluted, limited access, etc. This place is way overrated. I NEVER go fishing on the weekends. There are weekends at Bill Baggs State Park where you can hardly breathe by how overcrowded the park is with fisherman. I only ever fish from my hobie kayak now. It makes a huge difference in how enjoyable the fishing can be in South Florida. Right off of Virginia Key where you were catching the marjorra are a couple of secret wrecks I fish often. Caught the biggest grouper and mutton snapper of just kayak fishing a couple hundred yards off that beach. Fishing the reefs off the beach is good too.
    Here's what I recommend if you ever come back down here again: Dania Beach pier near Hollywood, the south jetty at Bal Harbor (park at the beach and then walk across the bridge), or head down south and fish the bridges below Islamorada. Otherwise if you want to do anything beyond that then I highly recommend that you bring your kayak.

    • @benh5774
      @benh5774 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sea-Money Fishing I go back to visit the parents there a few times a year (fishing in Northern California is brutal too), part of it depends on fish migration so planning when to come for certain fish helps. (Pompano season now), access without a boat or from shore is hard. Piers and jettys are only fun for awhile.

    Go to hualover inlet. Anywhere deeper water, current, structure and shallow water are going to be best. Also you can get guided kayak fishing for 85 dollars a person. From David at eco adventures in Miami. There is also a guy called the bone fish whisper that guides you in a canoe in Biscayne bay. He's also pretty cheap.

    For all those watching, please do not hold bonefish out of the water this long. Our findings show that bonefish exposed to air longer than 15 seconds are 50 percent more likely to die post release. We’ve lost almost 90 percent of our bonefish in Florida, and they are indeed a very special resource. Thanks for the film, tight lines.

    I lived in Miami for 21 years before moving . Fishing isn't the greatest in Miami from shore especially if you don't know the ins and outs .tons of pressure and not lots of spots you can fish at .Next time if I were you guys I would just skip Miami and go bridge hopping in the keys . I did 95% of my fishing in the keys ( all from shore). Snappers , poons, permit , jacks, snook mainly at night , Sharks, porgy etc etc. Btw best to fish those flairhawk/morning light jigs at night for snook and other things.

    In Miami you need to learn the spots and also go by the tides and at night is the best fishing! Way to many boaters that don’t respect. Also you need live bait!!!! All those spots you tried are Hi pressured and people here don’t go by the laws of size and limit.

    Where I live in Australia you'd be lucky to catch ANYTHING during the day (from shore), all the good fishing happens at sunrise, sunset, or at night. I'd be willing to say that 95% of all the fish I've ever caught were at those times.
    My point is, don't get depressed if you hardly catch any fish during the day, because all the quality fishing happens at sunrise/set or at night. You should also ask some locals or even go to an actual fishing guide and ask where good fishing spots are instead of trying to find them yourself. Sure, a guide might cost you like $50, but that $50 could mean the difference between catching a whole fucking bunch of fish or hardly any.

    Go to Sanibel in Fort Myers. Trout, big snook, big drum and some catfish and other basic little fish. For the drum you want live shrimp and the snook you want a popper or some baitfish like the small green backs and then for trout and catfish the green backs will work well for them too. I hate using live bait but it seemed like they didn’t want anything else besides maybe a popper for snook but that’s all. Good luck and be safe.😎👍

    I fished Florida many times before and catch what I'm looking for. Do you guys have a saltwater fishing license for the ocean? If not go buy one immediately and get the information on saltwater fishing types of fish and limitations and size, limit. You don't have one you're likely to go to jail and your equipment confiscated. Sorry for the bad news
