My guess is that it's a newborn star pushing away it's baby blanket with its solar winds. I think if it had been a supernova it would have been brighter and more violent but I could be wrong. - Turns out I was wrong, it is an exploding star.
The time lapse shows a light echo. First the star flashed, for reasons still unclear. After that, the light reflected from the matter surrounding the star arrived to us with some delay, creating the illusion of a giant bobble of light expanding very quickly
