Hi folks. I'm the director of this visualization. If you want to know more about how we created the sequence, you can watch "The Creation of Pillars" video we released in January 2024. I also did a Public Lecture Series talk "The Pillars of Creation: Multiwavelength Explorations in 3D" on July 2. That talk goes into great detail on both the science background and visualization techniques.
The factual, yet poetic, narration just added layers of beauty to an already stunning visual feast of The Pillars of Creation. I am so thankful that Hubble and JWST got the funding and support needed to bring this majesty and scientific knowledge to our world!
Thank you! I'm the director/writer/narrator and it is a joy to bring these science presentations to an audience that appreciates the combination of visual and intellectual journeys into the universe.
@@FrankSummersGood thing you got the funding when you did. If you'd tried during tRump's tenure, you would have been turned down because there'd have been no $ after the tax credits for his billionaire cronies.
The visuals are stunning and the information was presented so clearly and engagingly. Thank you for creating such an informative and captivating piece of content. It truly enhanced my understanding and appreciation of this magnificent astronomical phenomenon. One that has captivated me for many years, since that first image from Hubble.
3:01 like a swirling tornado of gravity bound matter. The lighter gas must be funneled inward, separated from the heavier elements which settle into a disk later around the young star. Such mind boggling beauty.
if anyones interested It would roughly take a human using an Apollo 11 rocket about 1000 years to travel from the bottom to the top of the pillars of creation.
You're underestimating time space and distance by an order of magnitude, those pillars are roughly 5 light years in length: (Which are just a tiny little part of the Eagle nebula roughly 70 light years in diameter), an Apollo rocket would take about a 106,000 or so years to travel just one light year, So you're looking at about 600.000 years or so to go from the top to the bottom of the 5 light year part where the pillars are in that rocket. As said in the hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, space is big really big.
@@aarongreenfield9038 After recalculating I get 135000 years. Our crewed spaceships, like Apollo, reach speeds of around 39,400 km/h (24,500 mph). It would still take around 27 thousand years to travel one lightyear.
And to give you some reference to the scale of that distance, one light year is 6 trillion miles, There are 1000 billions in a trillion, And to give some scale of how big of a number one billion is, there are 1000 millions in a billion, just one billion grains of sand would weigh 11 tons. so for some nausea inducing scale, the pillars would be 30 trillion miles long. So if you converted 30 trillion into grains of sand, it Would weigh about 300.000 tons. And all that is still just a speck of dust compared to the size of space between the Galaxy's, which is millions to billions of light years in diameter, Okay, I think I have to go lie down now.
I like the implication that something other than a human would be able to do it in a different amount of time I mean, I guess a lighter passenger would result in a higher deltaV
I remember as a child in the early 60's seing a photograph of the Pillars of Creation having pretty much the same shape as in this modern photograph. It has been over 60 years and their shape has not change much. I was terrified by their image so I remember them well. How can that be? They must be static or have moved very little!!
You are exactly right. I have experienced the same with old and new pictures of the Milky Way. There is a black C formation of millions of stars in part of that Milky Way, always you can see that c formation there. That is true, what forces keep them not changed is amazing
Yes, many times the speed of light. In one part of the sequence, it covers about 5 light years in about 30 seconds - I think that's about 5 million times the speed of light.
this nebula is so famous probably because it almost resemble a human hand, these 3 pillars juxtaposed vertically really resemble a hand lifting 3 fingers up...
2:39 Amazing. Wonders of nature. Not meaning this photo is fake. They say Eagle Nebula is about 7000 light years away from the Earth, wonder how can that light travelling from there to us not be disturbed in 7000 years, showing us crystal clear image of that nebula.
Why would the light travelling from it be disturbed? Space is, well, full of space. Also, fun fact, the Pillars of Creation were likely destroyed 6,000 years ago by a supernova, so we have 1,000 years left to observe the Pillars of Creation in their current form
I feel bad for whomever lives in those dust clouds trying to see beyond the veil. But I guess depending on the intensity of light within the clouds, maybe some of them wouldn't bother evolving eyes... or maybe the distances are so vast inside the clouds that they'd still have whole solar systems of light available. I guess the scale is hard to fathom
I find the eagle nebula to have quite a large ammount of dusty spires sticking out from it's dark "floor" thar are often forgotten about, altho these 3 are not realy "attacked", floating some distance above it by far the best part is the full 3D render of this image as there's quite a bit of distance between these formations
A womb filled with stars.. our whole universe was filled with these star wombs at one point. If I could ask God to reverse me briefly to a time when this happened …. Most homely and motherly moment in creation.
* ESTIMATED measurements of the Pillars: Height 4 to 5 light years (LY) or 25 to 31 TRILLION miles. * Separation between them 1 to 3 LY or 6 to 18 Trillion miles. * The single bright red proto star mentioned in this vdo. and its dust shroud appearing at the end of a "broomstick" jutting out from the left Pillar ¾ down, is larger than the size of our entire solar system. Hope you're all paying attention 😂

Gee, I wonder why this video was suggested to me today; could it be that my starting "The Stars, Like Dust" by Isaac Asimov has anything to do it with. We're being watched. LOL P.S. - I wish I were really kidding; this happens far too often now.

I like the implication that something other than a human would be able to do it in a different amount of time

What is the velocity of the camera as it drifts around? Probably several times the speed of light?
Yes, many times the speed of light. In one part of the sequence, it covers about 5 light years in about 30 seconds - I think that's about 5 million times the speed of light.
DEUS E MARAVILHOSO!!
There has to be someone who created this mesmerizing beauty ❤
I really wish I could get to grips with all this. I try !! It's so wonderful to see it though😮
Awesomeness
we are so small, in the void
What makes this particular image or capture so rare from the rest of the amazement going on n on n on out there ?
Somebody else sees three ferrets holding hands? 🖖
Or the turds are finally all coming together to form a Demi gorgen and take us all down. The shits gunna hit the fan guys!
DEFINITELY!!!
so beautiful!
Please Please Please post more videos or photos of what this amazing instrument can show us please. thank you, Deanoh99...
this nebula is so famous probably because it almost resemble a human hand, these 3 pillars juxtaposed vertically really resemble a hand lifting 3 fingers up...
IKR!!!
How long would it take to go to the calium system
What beautiful music plays in the background, what is it called? and the video is beautiful
What's the name of the song in the background?
I feel bad for whomever lives in those dust clouds trying to see beyond the veil. But I guess depending on the intensity of light within the clouds, maybe some of them wouldn't bother evolving eyes... or maybe the distances are so vast inside the clouds that they'd still have whole solar systems of light available. I guess the scale is hard to fathom
I find the eagle nebula to have quite a large ammount of dusty spires sticking out from it's dark "floor" thar are often forgotten about, altho these 3 are not realy "attacked", floating some distance above it
by far the best part is the full 3D render of this image as there's quite a bit of distance between these formations
Wow
INCREDIBLE!!! however do u not see the FIRST Creatures of 'OUR' Universe in the three of them?
How do they do them
O bizarro é saber que tudo isso é uma visão do passado, pois os pilares já não existem mais
⚡⚡⚡
GOD IS WONDERFUL!!
Psalm 8:1-9🤩
O Jehova👑h our Lord, how majestic your name is throughout the earth; You have set your splendor even higher than the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of children and infants you have established strength On account of your adversaries, To silence the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, The moon and the stars that you have prepared, 4 What is mortal man that you keep him in mind, And a son of man that you take care of him? 5 You made him a little lower than godlike ones, And you crowned him with glory and splendor. 6 You gave him dominion over the works of your hands; You have put everything under his feet: 7 All the flocks and cattle, As well as the wild animals, 8 The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. 9 O Jehovah our Lord, how majestic your name is throughout the earth.🙏🏾📕🥰🥰

All praise to the creator of this , ALLAH alone
*Indeed your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then established Himself on the Throne. He makes the day and night overlap in rapid succession.*
*He created the sun, the moon, and the stars-all subjected by His command. The creation and the command belong to Him ˹alone˺. Blessed is Allah-Lord of all worlds!*

Ok Jon Snow.
if NASA did take a picture of the flag on the moon, you'd call it fake since it was taken by NASA

The Bible is a collection of 66 sacred books. It was written over a period of approximately 1,600 years. The Bible contains a divine message-“the word of God.”-1 Thessalonians 2:13.
Facts about the Bible
Who wrote the Bible? God is the Author of the Bible, but he used approximately 40 different men to write it. Some of these men were Moses, King David, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. a God put his thoughts into the minds of the writers for them to record his message.-2 Timothy 3:16.
*To illustrate: If a businessman directs his secretary to write a message on his behalf, perhaps even giving the gist of it, the businessman is still the author of the message. Likewise, even though God used men to write his message, he is the real Author of the Bible.
What does the word “Bible” mean? “Bible” comes from the Greek word biblia, meaning “little books.” In time, biblia came to describe the whole collection of smaller books that together make up the Bible.
When was the Bible written? The Bible began to be written in 1513 B.C.E. and was completed over 1,600 years later, about 98 C.E.
Where is the original Bible? No original Bible writings are known to have survived. This is because Bible writers used perishable materials available at the time, such as papyrus and parchment. However, professional scribes meticulously copied and recopied Bible writings for centuries, preserving their contents for future readers.
What are the “Old Testament” and the “New Testament”? What is commonly called the Old Testament describes the part of the Bible that was written mainly in Hebrew, b also known as the Hebrew Scriptures. What is called the New Testament refers to the section written in Greek, known as the Christian Greek Scriptures. The two parts together form one complete book, also called the Holy Scriptures. c
What is in the Bible? The various parts of the Bible contain history, laws, prophecy, poetry, proverbs, songs, and letters.-See “ List of Bible books.”
What is the Bible about?
The Bible begins with a brief overview of the creation of the heavens and the earth by Almighty God. By means of the Bible, he introduces himself by his name, Jehovah, inviting humans to get to know him.-Psalm 83:18.
*The Bible explains that God has been misrepresented, and it shows how he will restore his reputation.
*The Bible reveals God’s purpose for mankind and the earth. It shows how God will eliminate the causes of human suffering in the future.
*The Bible provides practical advice for daily life. Examples of this include:
*Maintaining good relationships. “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them.”-Matthew 7:12.
Meaning: We should treat others the way we would like to be treated.
*Dealing with stress. “Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties.”-Matthew 6:34.
Meaning: Instead of worrying excessively about what may happen in the future, we do well to live one day at a time.
*Enjoying a happy marriage. “Each one of you must love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.”-Ephesians 5:33.
Meaning: Love and respect are vital to a successful marriage.
Has the Bible been changed?
No. Scholars have carefully compared ancient Bible manuscripts with today’s Bible and have found that the Bible’s original message is basically unchanged. This makes sense-after all, if God wants his message to be read and understood, is it not reasonable that he would ensure that the message would not be changed? -
Isaiah 40:8 The green grass dries up,
The blossom withers,
But the word of our God endures forever.
Why are there so many different translations of the Bible?
Most modern readers cannot understand ancient Bible languages. Yet the Bible has “good news” for “every nation and tribe and language.” (Revelation 14:6, footnote) For that reason, people need a translation of the Bible in a language they understand so that they can read and properly understand God’s message.
_
Bible translations reflect three basic styles:
*A word-for-word translation is as literal as possible.
*A thought-for-thought translation uses words that represent the meaning of the original-language text.
*A paraphrase translation freely rewords the text, aiming to make it enjoyable to read. However, the freeness of paraphrased translations may at times obscure the true meaning of the passage.
A good Bible translation balances literal translation with understandable modern language to convey God’s message to mankind accurately.
Who decided what should be included in the Bible?
As its Author, God decided what belongs in the Bible. He first chose the ancient nation of Israel to be “entrusted with the sacred pronouncements of God,” acting as custodians of the Hebrew Scriptures.-
Romans 3:2 A great deal in every way. First of all, that they were entrusted with the sacred pronouncements of God.
Are there lost books of the Bible?
No. The Bible is complete; there are no “lost” books. Some may claim that certain ancient books that were long concealed rightly belong in the Bible. f However, the Bible contains its own internal measure of authenticity. (2 Timothy 1:13) Using this standard, Bible books that are inspired by God completely harmonize with one another. This cannot be said for all ancient writings that some individuals claim belong in the Bible.
