  • I Love how Dave plays with airflow and embouchure to create unique, slushy tones. A monster both live AND in the studio, Dave always brings out the stank face in me! Huge thanks to my Patrons for choosing this slaptastic banger of a song! Lets talk about Dave and his absolute monstrosity of a voice!

      I’m not sure if you know or not but Dave uses a TON of nasal resonance & that’s what gives him these nasty lows along with a lot of other things but try pushing some of the air through your nose while doing the lows😁

      Dave said in interviews that he doesn't really like talking about vocal technique with others except for Devin from Worm Shepherd, so I doubt he'd be down to co-react but I agree that it would be very cool.

    What. In. The. Literal. Actual. Fuckin’. Piss. And. Shit.
    All text theatrics aside though, notated at the time stamp;
    How they layered an almost eagle screech-like and sustained then decayed bree/squeal alongside the guttural as they punch into the last? or perhaps second to last stretch of the breakdown….
    Man, whomever actually had the idea to employ that screech layer, the manz deserves, at the least, a commemorative sticker, reinforced double backed pocket protector, and above all, a signed, encased, and plaque mounted vinyl copy of the hit single “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne.
    Let’s make it happen.

    Pre-video: I discovered you recently and have been mini-binging, and I just want to say thank you and great work. You seem to put the most though and have the most detailed breakdowns of any react channel, including the other vocal coaches. I typically prefer songs or bands with mostly clean vocals (I discovered you through spiritbox) but you (with Spiritbox and Gwendydd) have helped that transition a bit. You should check out some of Gwendydd's songs, I am curious how Victoria's screams sound to someone who actually knows what they are talking about. I love them, but I listen mostly for the interesting structure and instrumentals, like the killer intro on A Hypocrite in a Child's Eyes.
