Before anybody has surgery or goes on pain medications for TMJ, you need to go to an optometrist that focuses on binocular vision dysfunction. I had constant TMJ and headaches, especially with computer work. Also had flared ribs and a turned hip. Turns out, it was all my eyes. My eyes were straining to focus which causes strain in all my jaw and facial muscles. My posture took a hit because my eyes were just slightly asymmetrical aligned and my brain thought my body was in a different part of space so it automatically adjusted my body out of position. A quick test is to cover one eye when you have symptoms and if your symptoms are reduced after 5 minutes, it might be your eyes. None of the PT I did helped for very long. None of the regular optometrists figured it out until I went to a specialist. It’s paradoxical and nobody would’ve ever thought but check your eyes!!! I got a new life!

did you get glasses or what? curious because ive considered this as part of the problem and ive been wearing glasses since I was young with different prescription in each eye. My eyes have always been asymetrical. I haven't been to the eye doctor in nearly 10 years and my glasses might need an update but also I am curious if the different lenses in each eye could be contributing to my problem.

Not am eye doctor. These are Optometrists specializung on eye muscles etc. Usually they measure your vision and prescribe certain exercises that bring the vision system in balance.

@@Lean-xt1lq yes I got prism glasses. Neurolens to be specific but specialists can also prescribe traditional prisms which are cheaper. Look up NeuroVisualMedicine.

I jumped off a high stool and straddled the arm of it two years ago. Every bone in my body was shifted in all different directions. Nothing any doctor could fix. Nerves from head to toe being compressed and on fire. I was in shock and survival mode for over a year. I've mentioned the pain in my ear many times and it was blown off a long with every other pain in my body. ALL of your videos have saved me from being crippled the rest of my life. Docs had no clue and I thought I was losing my mind. Your videos have confirmed I'm not crazy and the pain was real. You've helped me in so many ways. Thank you and God Bless you.

I had to have 2 TMJ surgeries, first after a dentist dislocated my jaw after jacking open my jaw too widely, then a couple years into treatment after the 1st surgery with braces putting things back in place, I got rear-ended in my car and my jaw was dislocated again. I then had to have the 2nd surgery and it was another 3 or 4 years before I finally got the braces off. Altogether, it was about 12 years of intense suffering. I think my case was severe but it goes to show how easily you can cause harm to someone. If this helps someone, that's wonderful. Thank you.

I have crazy hearing issues because of TMJ related to posture/malocclusion. If I wear a splint enough it helps, now moving onto orthodontics but the misalignment of my body definitely plays into it. Its all related. For me, I can't touch my back teeth and I have been digging into my front teeth for years. Took me 3 years to figure out it all starts with a bad bite that bad posture/body mechanics intensify.

Suffered for years, had mouth surgeries, and bunion grew from my uneven-everything in my body lol. But I was able to correct almost everything myself with consistent yoga practice for 7 years now, came to a point where I no longer needed to get adjusted because I can do it myself. And it heightened my body-awareness from the tips of my toes to my hairline heheh. I am so interested and would love to know biomechanics for this and maybe add more certification/knowledge so I can teach for TMJ, scoliosis, crossbite patients like me!

This is a great example of holistic medicine using western science; instead of the word holistic being co-opted by new age alternative medicine BS.
I figured out soon after realizing I had TMD that it's related to my right leg being 1 inch shorter than my left, despite the fact most of this won't really help my anatomical issue, it's nice to know that I'm right and the nuances of why.
I talked to a dentist about surgical options, but they warned me against it and were basically otherwise useless regarding my TMD.
I wear a lift in all of my right shoes, which makes wearing "minimalist" shoes slightly awkward, but it has helped along with several other fixes and exercises I've done. Including getting surgery on my previously broken nose to breathe better and stop being a mouth breather, also strengthening my neck with "wrestler" exercises and working on less slouched/hunched general posture to avoid "tech neck", have also all made tremendous differences.

when I flex my left hip "the wrong way", so, a compensation with a hip shift happens, then I feel tension emerging somewhere in the left arm and on the left side of the jaw. Then I need to do an external rotation with the left arm and a funny movement with my jaw to click it. It's killing me more intellectually than physically to know what the mechanics of this phenomenon is.

I went to a TMJ/TMD specialist. I was instructed by him, chiro, and a PT that the masseter muscles are tight. The specialist didnt see any issue with the TMJ, the disc. He says it's the that muscle. On the right side. I also bite down with my left side touching. I've been grinding. So right back molars make no contact.
The chiro and PT have told me I need to masaage the inside of the mouth and the outside of the mouth. Both sides. And also do that isometric movement I see here and another one where I move my jaw to one side, put my fingers on the opposite as push with my fingers while trying to move the jaw towards the fingers. It's an isometric movement.
For this exercise, since my right molars dont touch, then I'd be pushing on my left.

They go through a 3 month certificate course and that’s it they’re “chiros” and “physios”. None of their methods have ever helped, on the opposite, I always felt worse and even injured in the case of chiros. They pull legs, crack bones etc and have no idea what consequences that would bring. I had chiros crack my spine and pelvis so hard it took me years to recover. I’d even say that most of my today’s problems were CAUSED by chiros, by them cracking and injuring.

Thanks for the video! I've had chronic pain from this issue for around 5 years, because of grinding my teeth down as I was missing my left molar, so I biased to the right side, grinded most of my teeth down on the right side and I now have a crossbite to the right, but all of my compression is on the right of my body also. I've been given a couple of dental splints to shift my jaw left and outwards and with a filled in left molar, but they didn't seem to help and I got a lot of pain when using them. A physio told me that my feet and right eye is are also "off". I really feel like I'm stuck in compression in my right side and in a lot of pain and I can't/haven't been able to get out of it for a long time.
None of the PRI techniques to help it stick at all and it undoes and my body recompresses within minutes/not long after I've done them.

I was like you, very complex case. This can’t be fixed with a zoom only call. I booked a holiday to the PRI prime clinic. They get you on track with appropriate appliances in a week and then can do zoom follow-ups without wasting your money. You will likely need glasses, dental splint and orthotics. It ended up costing less than a typical holiday, even as an uninsured foreigner, as Lincoln is quite an affordable town.

And my posture were fucked up already in 2nd year and i started to feel annoying pain in my lower back from the left side it had been even lasted for 6 hours straight.
I've been watching these vids and learning how to aproach this issue and most of exercises were helpfull for sure especcialy when i started working with diaphragm so Conor biggg thank you!
Well I assume that my left side overall in a poor condition but i've already 1 month havent seen my lowerback hurts thats a progress for sure. I want to start working out but properly because those years looks like most of the time i overload my right and underload my left i think thats the root cause for my low back pain. What to do with my face i still dont know but i assume i gotta unblock my whole body and learn to move freely again thats all i care about.

Do you have any tips or a video on ear pain/Eustachian tube dysfunction and its relation to the posture of the body? I notice my left ear makes a crackling sound when I swallow. My left side of my body is also weaker and less mobile than my dominant right side. I notice that when I put pressure with my thumbs on my upper traps and neck muscles that I no longer get that crackling sound when swallowing. I’ve seen many doctors, PTs, and ENTs for this and unfortunately they have just given me standard tmj exercises which didn’t resolve the ear issue.

That’s so crazy. I’ve noticed recently that if I can relax the tension in my jaw, then my right eye feels a lot different. It feels like pressure behind and around my eye is suddenly gone.

Im confused. My left side is the problematic (body). So my left bum cheek is weak, my body never leans onto right foot. I don’t have any jaw pain however I can see slight lip misalignment (right side is “pulled” slightly down). My teeth touch better on the left, but the jaw is slightly rotated to the right. So the left jaw side is slightly higher when I open my mouth and the right side is lower. According to the video, Conor shows the right side being tight so I should be doing it on my left side and “turn” or “push” to the right side, but that’s the side my jaw is already pointing in. Is there a chance he misspoke and you put fingers on the opposite side of the tight jaw and “push” towards that side? So if my left side is tight, I place fingers on my right chin and push to the left? Cause otherwise I’m pushing it in the direction that it’s already facing to 🤷‍♀️

Why does AIA try to differentiate itself from PRI when the concepts are very similar, and the faculty are also overlapping? Both seem to be osteopathic in nature as well, but PRI is more common, while AIA is super small and you can't really find anyone.

I think its a chicken egg problem...does the tmj (or dysgnathie) comes first or hip problems...also there are ppl having stomach intestine problems like sibo / sifo/ gastritis which can place pressure on one side creating anmuscle pressure leading to scoleosis, so was the wrong diet first or the wrong alignment of jaw? Btw if the eyes are misplaced or have neuropathy it can create head asymmetries which can create an asymmetrical maxilla, so what was first?

In my experience, if you were born with bony malformations, they are rather difficult to change, that’s congenital.
However, if the tailbone shifted during your labour and delivery of your baby, then it is possible to re-align things, provided it hasn’t been decades since it happened. The longer you wait, the harder it is to change. But I have seen changes in sacrums from manual therapy.

@@delt19 Yes - I am eating steak again without next day hell. It was not as easy as this video suggests. I did find initial relief from the exercises in the lecture I refenced, do them slowly lightly and carefully. The benefits you feel should help remove skepticism. When I did these first I started enthusiastically running and gyming and got stuck again. As you still need a very experienced PRI instructor (I went and did the PRI prime program) to make the relief stick. Underneath the jaw you still need to get out of the standard PRI pattern. I had to address visual issues (needed glasses), grounding issues (needed PRI orthotics) , jaw issues (PRI splint) and lots of exercises. Then again I was messed up more than most, in recovery from a stroke.

    • @raresale889
      @raresale889 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@meenagour8943 PEctus excavatum is permanent . What you can do is to learn your body to better deal with it . this maybe will also reduce the pain around jaw and migradne and the head posture . Is all about how well your body functions with the problems it has .You shall go to a movement specialist ( or PRI specialist ) to help you first learn to breath better and use the diafragm for breathing (because if you heads is forward you neck is used more then the diafragm for breathing and so diafragm . The conclusion is that you cannot solve pectus excavatum but you can improove your posture to help your body be more neutral and automatically your body will deal with it better .
