Carlos Muñoz Bastias Wow, can you imagine how awful it would have been if Nairo would have lost from the star KO there? Only the third time he's ever beaten ZeRo, and the star KO almost snatched his victory away.
19:50 I'm so happy that Nairo paid attention to the screen even after he took Zero's stock as if you look closely, Bowser was falling off the edge after the last up air and a star KO occurred. If Nairo just stupidly popped off without checking, it is likely that Bowser would've fell to the bottom blast zone before the star KO animation ended. That's why he starred at the screen for a sec, to do the up b.
he would have died if Diddy didn't die. if you look closely, he lost his double jump and he fell off with fire breath. that end lag plus the loss of his jump could have killed him lol. Thank god it didn't.
That's happened because he knew the up aerial would have definitively killed at that percent lol, don't think that if Nairo wasn't 100% sure of get the kill he would have did that mistake. The hype of winning the set just made Nairo to do that bit error, nothing to care anyway.
Lethal Blue there was no chance Diddy wouldn't die. I was concerned however that diddy percent and browser rage was too high for the combo to work but once it connected especially on dreamland there was no surviving it for diddy. Much heavier characters wouldn't have had a chance either.

Nairo is so good with Bowser. He knows he can get hit as much as he wants and get a couple hits and a grab and get the kill. The thing that really won hit the set was his mixups on recovery so he never got gimped or daired at a very early percent. GG.

Not gonna lie I was expecting a lot of dairs. Excellent job with that recovery.
I was playing bowser on fg the other day against a good sheik. The whole match was just me getting hit off stage and occasionally getting fairs every now and then. It came down to me struggling to survive at about 200% and the sheik sitting pretty and needle camping at 35%. Thinking he had already won I guess he let his guard down. I got a grab, followed his DI, and usmashed. He should not have airdodged.
Idk how he does it but he plays bowser well without using the tech, nairos bowser is pretty much grabs
That's Bowser's main strength. Honestly, out of all the notable Bowsers Nairo is probably the best (even without maining him), and I doubt it's a coincidence that he's also the most grab-heavy.
as a bowser main, i always thought that bowser would never get into the meta, but players like Ash, le troof, and now nairo are making me proud of being a bowser main

octo draws if you haven't already, i'd recommend you to check out LordMix and Deluxemenu, they're probably the two most hype Bowser mains atm. Obviously their fundamentals aren't as good as Nairo's, but they're much more interesting to watch imo.

He never go to big tournaments, only on local tournaments. Guess, one time Sol decided to go in one of those local tournaments, and had a fight with Makibaz. He fucking destroyed Sol. Like, he almost JV3 him.
I think he may seriusly be TOP 3 Bowser, for what i saw, he is probabily better than Deluxemenu. Hell, i would say he MAY be as good as Lord Mix! Too bad he doesn't go to big tournaments. :(

Nairo and ZeRo are besties, so he's not gonna be too upset about the loss. It's a damn shame the bracket ended up the way it did but we wouldn't have gotten this hype set otherwise. I do hope this is the momentum boost Nairo needs to put on a show tomorrow.

This set was so good. Sucks someone has to lose. Just so happened Zero fell short this time. Good games to both people they played their asses off. Only critique, Zero monkey flips a little too much. More peanuts. But im not number 1 in the world since the game came out. So i wouldnt know.

When I saw that fast fall fair get shielded live in game 5, I already knew nairo had it. Congrats to nairo for eliminating zero. It's a shame I won't be seeing them both in top 8.

He played his heart out in this set and you can tell from all of the correct recovery options and dodged typical setups Zero lands on people. Not to mention on a huge hurtbox character like Bowser! I never knew Bowser could recover sooo low but he managed to dodge out every Dair minus the one on the last match and I would dare to say it was only because of Dreamlands ledge.
Loved seeing Nairo play this through and stick to his guns with Bowser! Much credit!! And very well played!

Tbh Nairo won this solely off of his skill as a player and his understanding of neutral.
He has SO much more to learn with Bowser...
My only critic is the very rare use of the down aerial. This is a fucking good move, compared to Sheik/ZSS down Aerial has a super ridiculus hitbox, and is also so powerful, it become a kill move at around 100%
Ryng Tolu with enough landing lag Zero can practically full charge fsmash if he power shields it. But yeah it's pretty good on for Glory
when playing casual matches dair and down b kick ass but in the meta I'd avoid doing it most of the time

MR R used Sheik down Aerial many times, and is a way stupid move compared to Bowser down aerial, yet it worked many times, also just saying, every time Nairo used down aerial with Bowser, he always got him, so really the hell are you talking about lol.
But yeah, of course if i say "use down aerial more", you of course always think i'm talking about "spam down aerial every fucking time".

I really wanted ZeRo to win... I wanted him to win because of his no win streak and all the pressure of staying on top, being the best.
But I am very happy and proud of Nairo! It's been forever since he's taken a win against ZeRo and it must feel great.
One thing I could say is that ZeRo didn't go in for as much grabs, relying too much on the banana peel for an opening. Which is understandable because he's fighting a Bowser, but still.
Anyway, great match to watch and I hope the best for ZeRo in his upcoming tournaments and my wishes for Nairo in winning this one!
Anyway... I think It'd be cool if he picks up secondary. It's be cool if we saw Lucina again although since Ally beat her I don't see that, Cloud, or Sheik. I'd really love to see the best Sheik make a comeback.
He beat ZeRo at momocon just 2 months ago, this is far from "forever" :-/

Nairo was BMing with the fire breath off the stage and almost died before Zero did, thats why Zero raised his eyebrows at the end.
No matter how many times I watch this, this set is still very stressful.
Nairo being my favorite player, I was so happy to see Nairo conquer his biggest demon, Zero, with Bowser. The best player in the world was beat by a Bowser. Let that sink in.

It turns out Nairo is innocent
It seems evident to me that this was a big endorsement for Bowser. Nairo's Bowser play is deficient in some aspects. Where he won was his fundamentals, dodging, shielding, etc. What made the difference between winning and losing was Bowser's staying power, and launching power, and that Bowser is fast enough that he can utilize his power effectively in skilled hands. I've seen other Bowser players utilize firebreath better, down B better, and edgeguard a lot better. Granted, Zero wasn't exactly allowing himself to be knocked off stage frequently, but there were definitely missed opportunities for Nairo. In the end I think Zero just wasn't cautious enough, not properly respecting Bowser's power. And Nairo, being an excellent, well-disciplined player, caught too many openings for high dmg and launches for Zero to come out on top.
Bowser may not be Bayo, or even Cloud, but Bowser looked like the superior character here. Zero didn't really play poorly overall. Bowser just hit a hell of a lot harder, and was fast enough to make it happen often enough to score a solid win.

Just out of curiosity (I'm not a hardcore competitive player by any means) did they nerf bowser's u throw recently? I've been maining bowser on for glory and when I up throw they don't seem to go nearly as far vertically as they do in the vid. I may be doing something wrong tho idk

Actually, Bowser can still controll the direction even with 20/30% more than the other charter. Only when you have big percent difference you can controll the direction.
Zero also missed a chance to win when they were both on the top play for a sec, he could have just ran up and grabbed nairo and hoo haa'ed him to win, but everything is better in hindsight
Nairo is a genius!!! Literally goes ZSS everytime they played after trying his Bowser once at Zero saga for half a year to throw Zero off when he actually decides to go Bowser. Zero not knowing he is going to go Bowser will not have the proper training for it. Genius!!!!!! Jokes aside, why dafuq didn't Nairo just kept going Bowser after Zero Saga. Lost so much sets vs him going ZSS. lol
Yeah, after December 2016, Nairo started to use Bowser a lot, but after February he stopped using him at tournaments.
Well, looks like he is back, and he is HUNGRY. :p I can assure that after this, Nairo is gonna use Bowser WAAAAAAAAAY more lol.
I'm not sure, grapplers (DK/Bowser) are amazing counterpicks in this game because of how simple their very rewarding punish game is based around grabs, you have to play a very unique style against them, I don't think its good to use them all the time, but as an occasional counterpick, which is what Nairo used here and it worked wonders.
I believe that if Nairo is gonna fight MKleo in future, he will most likely use Bowser.
We saw that Nairo with Bowser do way, WAY better against Cloud compared to ZSS, so there are big chances to see Nairo Bowser VS Cloud Leo. That could be fucking hype too :O
I don't want to take credit, but it seems weirdly coincidental that a few weeks back I tweeted to Nairo for him to bring back Bowser and explained why and not long after he began using Bowser again.
