I'm about to get a laser printer for the first time, and this video explained the toner and drum wonderfully. Thank you for the video!

Thank you - I've just installed this printer by myself. Very easy and works straight away!

well watching this you've convinced me to steer away from WiFi enabled printers (having struggled with the phone apps on both HP desk jet and a Epson XP2200 - in my view 2 terrible printers) this monochrome unit is just what I'm looking for so its off to Argos this afternoon .... Thanks for the candid review,

Great review and appreciate the setup guide. Managed to get hold of one of these for £64. I don't print much but I just want a simple printer that prints in black without a scanner, network connectivity, ink subscription scam or any other nonsense that just works when I want it to without spending hours troubleshooting and rinsing dried out inkjet cartridges.

This is the best overall review/set-up I've seen in a long time - for anything! Can you please sort the government out now?:)

Just got my brother 1112 printer today, & to be honest I am terrified about setting it up. After watching your video I feel much more confident, so a massive thanks for that. I have only two questions. I lifted the top & there's orange card inside but it doesn't want to come out. Any ideas please? Is the toner that comes with it already set up? Bear with me...I'm blonde..& old 🙈😁

Orange cards are in there to prevent the internal carriage mechanisms getting damaged in transit. Pull out the drum which holds the toner and the card will easily lift out.

@Computroon thanks for the reply. I actually set it up on Sunday (proud of myself 🤣) It's working perfectly after I followed your guidance. The steam was a bit alarming on the first print run, but that's settled down now. Many thanks for the video. If I hadn't seen it, the printer would still be in its box waiting for my grandson to set it up 🤣🤣

Does this printer have a manual feed tray at the back at all?

I was thinking between this and HP, but the HP won't work without wi-fi and just think about the future when HP decides to stop the support for this printer and want you to buy the new model. I have decided will be Brother

Does the printer work with Android only? No sharing by pc.

Not sure but guessing no. The manufacturer has downloads for Windows, Mac & Linux. If you are looking for a printer to run from Android, best looking for a Wireless printer. 99% of wireless printers today will work standalone from your mobile.
All best, hope you get a unit that works well for you.

@@Computroon Thank you for your response 🤝🏻👍🏻. I have this printer and I'm trying to make it compatible with Android 10. But so far, without any significant results. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️😉🤫

Very good review. Stopped me from buying it. I need a WiFi small monochrome printer.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated
I have owned an HP LaserJet p1102 pro that has got itself all jammed up and would love to get it fixed as I have one new,and one part used toner.
    Just for home use.
    Help.
Cheapest as I am a 70 year old pensioner.

Glad it saved you the expense of purchasing if it's not the unit that would fit your needs Martin. There are a few printers at around the same budget that do have Wifi. I'm reluctant to recommend any in particular unless I am able to do a hands-on review. But a good source of genuine reviews may be Argos (if you are in the UK). Once you have a model number then turn to TH-cam and I'm sure someone will have uploaded a hands-on review.
Good luck and let us know which one you get and whether you'd recommend it.

This review was going brilliantly well until you mentioned the the bit where we were instructed to go to Brother Support UK , which at the outset seemed like an obvious place to get an update …. But although I directed my request to Brother it ended in the hands of something or somebody called HOWLY,, initially it seemed to the uninitiated that this was a part of ‘Brother’, but far from being the info/support of Brother their modus operandi is that I was they charge £1 for this service and this ‘Service’ resulted in absolutely NOTHING by way of updating my PC, and to compound this within 3 minutes of discontinuing my connection and logging out 2 further transactions both of £46 were processed on the card of course with the details that I had willingly parted with for the £1…. and whilst I will take the matter further with my bank to see if I can get redress but Im disgusted in Brother for promoting this outfit who are evidently conmen in the name of Brother.

Hey, sorry to hear that you landed on a scam site. The downloads for drivers will be available directly from Brother support. However, like many other support sites, there are scam sites that claim to be what you are looking for.
It may be an idea to have your browser checked for addons to make sure there are no hijack redirects on there.
The site www.brother.co.uk/support/drivers should allow you to download any drivers without paying anything.
I would suggest that this is not Brother website, but a site pretending to be them, used to be a common problem searching for things like "Adobe Reader". The top results were sponsored and were in fact scams.
Good luck getting that payment stopped, hope you get it sorted out.
      All the best.
