Btw a tip: In the "sound" window in the first method, double click on your audio device and turn off "audio enhancements" sometimes that can fix it. It fixed it for me and stopped it from interfering with my headphones/driver.
Restoring defaults should do that

How come some do not have the Enhancement TAB? 2:13 or are unable to choose, Windows Sonic Headphones?2:26 does it have to do with the type of motherboard, or Headset? you have? cuz i have either and unable to choose.

well i dont know if someone else has this probelm but, my audio sounds fine mostly but when i hear some music there's a slight faint and small reverb to a beat which makes it sound slightly weird, is that an audio probelm or just my ears?

I dont know which step did it but now that harsh treble high dont irritate me anymore, this vid improved my sound quality
can someonehelp me? My headphones get that sharp sound after like 1 hour. I mean the sharp s and t sound. Help.
For me i think the problem is my upgrade in motherboard and drivers compatible with it. It's unfortunate because I liked the old settings. (I 've had awesome sound quality and it was loud AF at 50%). Now no matter what I do, the sound sounds muffled (Don't know how to explained it - english is not my native tongue), like listening to sound under the water, or as if the equalizer is always active on a mode where the bass is really high and the rest is not (even though there's no option). Also it maybe because I don't have windows activated
My headset doesn't have an "enhancements" tab but has spatial audio. Very strange.
Hi, a problem I have is that I can't get my headset and its mic to work at the same time. Depending on which jack I plug them into I can only get one to work, even if it's in the headset jack!
If there are two jacks, is that one definitely for headsets and not just headphones?

I did a hard reset on my laptop now it sounds different
my jbl quantum 610 format is stuck on 16000hz tape recorder quality and cant change the very bad sound
Did you try disabling the microphone for it and are you using the official adapter?
i tried evrything and it did not work :´( when ever i get into a discord call with my microphone enable/on the quality gets awfull!! but when i go to setting and turn it off the quality gets okay! but when i do that i cant talk to anyone..
Is it a Bluetooth headset?
The audio play troubleshooter adviced turning off enhancements so I checked the disable box - seems to have finally resolved the issue. Experimented with an anime opening and it was nice to finally hear without the near constant corruptions that plagued audio through repeated mutes and drops in quality. Hated having to frequently replay skipped sounds every other second in my video watching lately - good riddance, thanks for the help.
im having issues when using my wireless earphones when using discord and playing games. My audio sounds clear at first but then when I join a call on discord the audio changes quality and the same happens when i go into a game. I havent been able to find a solution to this in months but everything works fine when using headphones. I dont know what the difference could be.
Wireless headsets/earphones are often like this, especially Bluetooth ones. They don’t have the ability to transmit both input and output audio at the higher quality, which is why they will go into a ‘telephone/communication’ mode when the mic is enabled

@@TropicalTech it isn't the headphones fault, windows created its Bluetooth devices separately, one for high sound quality (stereo) and one for talking/communication (handsfree AG audio)

Edit: Nah man, its back. Its in Halo MCC. The audio starts out normal and then goes mono speaker mode or something
I’ve experienced that in F1 23, I think it has to be a bug with the game

@@TropicalTech Its fixed bro. I went into the recording tab and disabled just the mic from the BT headset and thats it. Atleast the usual yandex browser isn't switching to the muffled audio anymore. Have yet to try MCC

Check that the device is connected correctly. Make sure the correct device is enabled and set as default, some might have two options for the same headphones

Sounds like it only gets worse when the microphone is active which likely means it’s switching to hands free mode, check if you can turn that back to stereo, if not it might unfortunately be the limitation of the wireless headset

@@vidlith Disable the microphone in the sound control panel and that should force the regular, higher quality stereo sound
I once deleted my realtek audio driver by mistake, but after I downloaded a new one from Realtek's website, the stereo effect has gone and my laptop sounds like a tin can...
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling the device from the device manager and then reconnect it?

You could try a different port or updating drivers but not all devices allow you to change it

That’s the control panel and it’s been basically the same as that since Windows XP. I used the control panel for the reason you mention about Windows being changed!
@@TropicalTech yes, found another video which shows how to place a link icon/ shortcut to the control panel on to the desktop. Of course MS in their infinite wisdom now also no longer put an arrow in the shortcut icon making one think there is now a file on the desktop, but it's only a shortcut. These coders drive me nuts. I find it so disregarding of users and therefore also user unfriendly. It also reminds me how these days one only owns things partially that one has purchased outright.
these methods did not help me. but a tip if youre using wireless headphones just wipe the device off the pc and pair it back up. thats should help
damn nothing helped.. for some reason the xm4 works great on my laptop but the sound is really messed up on pc idk why
Definitely sounds like it could be the microphone causing it as I have the same headset. Make sure the mic is disabled if you're using it over Bluetooth as when its enabled it will go into communication/call mode where the headset sound quality is lowered to accommodate the mic as well.
The disable recording fixed it for me but now i cant use my mic?

@@auzzyboy276 That's a limitation of Bluetooth headsets unfortunately. When in audio only mode they are high quality but in order to transmit microphone as well, the audio quality has to be sacrificed and the device goes into a communication mode. This happens on all Bluetooth headsets, even those that will be $300+.
@@TropicalTech they do have a bluetooth and usb mode, Im sure it is usb mode (using a dongle) however the issue remains.. Thanks for the info though i appreciate it!
@auzzyboy276 Yeah defiantly try and check it’s using the dongle. I’m not sure on whether that would cause the same issue, it sounds like it does based on what fixed it. I’d suggest checking with Logitech or see if they advertise it working properly with the mic as well
Yeah.. But i still want to use the microphone in my headphones i talk to alot of people by sound.. I am pretty sure there is a better fix than this.
The microphone fix is for Bluetooth devices, if you want to use the microphone as well as listen to audio I assure you there’s no fix for that, that’s just one of the limitations of Bluetooth, it cannot transmit high quality input and output audio simultaneously unfortunately.

I love that my audio is PERFECT, until it wants to use my microphone. Windows 11 is TRASH. Had no problems on Windows 10, no problems on iOS, no problems on Android, no problems on Mac, no problem on Linux. But Microsoft wants to tell us its the headphone manufacturer's at fault....
Is it a Bluetooth headset?
I'm using a Bluetooth headset, the problem I have is, my audio is normal but when I launch a game audio gets soft and muffled. When I exit the game it goes back normal. @@TropicalTech
@@chauncey7286I imagine that’s because the mic is enabled. Most Bluetooth headsets cannot support both audio input and output without a drastic quality drop. If you go to the sound control panel and disable the headset mic that should fix it for most programs
@TropicalTech I disabled it in sound control and privacy. Still the same. It was fine before updating to win11 last night
