Peresee It's simple! All you have to do is download the ratchet and clank soundtrack. Get a USB drive. Put the soundtrack in the USB drive, then put it into your ps4. When it's in your ps4, an icon of a USB drive will show up, select that and your set to play any track while playing ratchet and clank

This is a legitimate top-to-bottom remake! The same exact levels completely remade in HD! I want them to do this to Spyro now. It's not gonna happen, but I want it.

i21meerkat Ah I didn't play into the nexus, the last one I played was crack in time because I believed the newer ones were nowhere near the quality of the first 3 on ps2 and the first two on ps3. This game took the best one in the series (in my opinion) and made it better. Ratchet Deadlocked was only decent to me.

Fredrik Hallerström they probably have access to weapons which wouldn't be unlockable at that point just to show them to people. you wouldn't have most of these at Gapsar. and they showed them at the first level too. not to mention who ever playing this is someone who is from the studio. they make it look easy
This looks amazing, I love these huge, sprawling levels where you collect all the crystals/horns/souls/etc at your own pace, and the world just keeps expanding and unfolding. Keeping the Nexus (and to a lesser extent, GC) jetpack is also awesome, I loved using it in Nexus. 2016 is too far away!
I'm really glad your giving the classic trilogy a fresh coat of paint. I always went back to those games for their humor, and knowing that the sensibilities of the future series will be incorporated makes me want to own a PS4 just as much as the future series made me eventually buy a PS3. Your doing some really cool stuff Insomniac.

This looks amazing but it sucks that they are not using the original soundtrack as it would bring back a lot of nostalgia, music is very powerful, imagine being at Gemlik Base with Pixar like scenery listening to that chilling soundtrack!
iNomNomAwesome Same but hounestly the new formula they have is leaving me a little disappointing the ps3 ones actually manged to lose the depth of the older ps2 series in many aspects story telling was still great but in raw gameplay it was lacking a bit.

Insomniac really outdid themselves with this game, looks like you're playing a playable Pixar movieO_O So good to see the jetpack return from Into The Nexus:) I love how Ratchet told the scientist that he's probably single, love the humor already and you just have to love Mr. Zurkon, one of the best weapon.
I loved this game. Ratchet and Clank was the first game I got when the PS2 came out when I was 11 and they have come on in leaps and bounds in what they can actually do with graphics software that you are essentially playing a movie. The storyline of the first Ratchet and Clank was always the strongest in my opinion and I loved the morph-o-ray, I hope they will bring that gun back!
I have thoroughly enjoyed every R&C released to date, beside "All 4 One". This one should be no exception. It looks and plays fantastic from my perspective. Good Job Insomniac!

I was in Year 2 when the first came out on PS2 and am now 20, have had every game since and it was and is the reason I bought a PSP, PS3 and the PS4. So i feel you :)

Mr zurkon has been in lots of ratchet and clank games I don't if this your first time you've seen ratchet and clank which is really weird if you haven't but his not annoying I found his comments funny sometimes
This looks amazing. Loved the way how it opens up, looks like one of those hunting activities returning (something the original didn't have, but a much welcome addition to later games).
The game looks beautiful but all these weapons look almost identical to the ones in the Future series. This is the Solana Galaxy! It's Gadgetron, not Grummelnet! Plus, the old weapons got pretty tiring to use for the last four games. A new catalog would be nice, especially if Mr. Zurkon is replaced.
Considering that this level is introducing button prompts for simple things like rail-switching I'm guessing that this is one of the early levels in the game and they're still giving the tutorial for the controls so it makes sense that this stage should be easy before ramping the difficulty up on other worlds.
I swear this comment section is really annoying, so many stuck up kids are here saying "a4o and ffa sucked, insomniac can't make good games anymore" SHUT THE HELL UP! Let develepors experiment sometimes. Just be happy that ratchet and clank has been carried on and not left to die like jak and daxter and gex.
I'm a HUGE Ratchet and Clank fan, I played and loved the originals (especially Locked and Loaded, my favourite game of all time), enjoyed the PS3 games and loved the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy. Now that the franchise is coming to PS4, I must pre-order it, it's probably going to be my favourite game of 2016.
Ratchet and Clank/ Jak and Dexter made my childhood, thank you Insomniac Games for bringing RaC back! I wish Naughty Dog will make a new JaD game in the near future. =D
Loving it so far. The level looks like a nicely updated version of the original level, while adding several new things to it to make the experience fresh.
I know its really late in development now but it'd be really cool if each of the gun companies were all in the game and they each had guns. so you'd have Gadgetron weapons, Megacorp weapons, Grummelnet weapons and Constructo weapons. each company would have their own vendors. on another note, sad to hear the soundtrack doesn't stand up to the original. Why do so many people complain about 30 FPS? films run at 24 FPS. your eyes barely notice it. yes 60 looks smoother but 30 is still fine. anything below 20 is when you need to start worrying
How can people tell? I can't tell you the difference at all, but if it is 30fps, I guarantee at least one game website will give it a crap review because of it. I'll buy it either way though.
Tʜᴇ Gᴀᴍᴇ Cʜᴀɴɢᴇʀ 24 fps works for films because they use a type of motion blur that makes it so the frames seem to mend together thus giving a smooth appearance the type of motion blue used for films does not work with games because they are dynamic and always changing what happening on screen at random intervals. also with a game like ratchet and clank achieving 60 fps would be fairly easy considering how its set up and the levels are not too massive. if not its fine but i would rather have the games be amazingly crafted then awesome with some drawbacks.
good to see awesome developers stick to what made their games amazing, was scared they were going to change it up to try and compete like so many of my other favorite series. i fucking love you insomniac, very few games have me smiling the entire way through the only complaint i have is the wait for this! also mr. zurkon is the pinnacle of badassery.
Justin Poindexter What tends to be changed on the higher difficulties? What we've seen so far, the majority of attacks have done about 3 nanotech, and most enemies move reasonably slowly/can't take many hits. It had better be on easy

You ruined my childhood with that Jetpack and those Obective marks.. and all the mini tutorials for every single step you do in the game... Still a real cool game, and i love the graphics aswell for inspiration to make my works aswell.
This was posted nearly 8 months ago and I hear Insomniac has spent the last 6 months polishing the game. This already looks spectacular as it is so I can't possibly imagine how much BETTER it will look when the game's released! :D
I wish changing weapons was all in real-time. I don't like how everything freezes in the background, but besides that, it looks like a really good game. Insomniac is getting closer to reaching their goal of making it feel as if you're playing an interactive movie
Ratchet the last Lombax 99sonder I believe they're revamping the levels to be more explorative and multiple path-like, similar to ToD, Q4B, and CiT. Since Gaspar was the only planet in the game with an additional side mission that didn't have to be done (but rewarded you a skill point), it makes sense they'd put one of the "Bring me 10 crystals/horns/bones/etc." missions in here. Otherwise, it looks like levels are retaining their base layouts, and I _LOVE_ Insomniac for doing that. :3
I hope this is a new timeline, because I'd hate for this to say, "yeah, the original game didn't happen. This did." I am glad that the series is getting revitalized.
What happened? All the weapons are from past games (that we've seen at least twice before) except the Pixelizer. The re-made enemies are cool, but nowhere near as grim and frightening as the originals. And what's up with the button symbols everywhere? Are you going to highlight the footsteps I should take too? What happened to the kickass music that the older games had? The music you could remember from a certain level and go around humming it all day? You can have your graphics, PS4, and new bells and whistles, but without new weapons, good music, new gameplay mechanics and a more original feel to the remake, what tribute does this pay to the original Ratchet and Clank? What happened Insomniac Games? What happened?
DaFrontPorch No way man! The weapons shown here might be to save the new ones for later but we've seen it before! In The Nexus, we've seen the Warmonger, Crossbow Sniper thing, fusion grenade, and typical blaster all before in at last 2 games. Yes they've had new ones but about 1/2 the weapons are from past games. The enemies closely resemble the orginal models but they're just more cartoonish now with less detail and a more harmless feel. I can't be the only one who thinks the R&C games took a turn for the worse, and if I am, we all know it deep down. More cartoonish, same weapons, no awesome music, downgraded enemies and character models, I'm just sad with the new games in some ways.
rahkshifan99 I couldn't agree more. Of course I'm looking forward to the game, but when they said back to the roots, I thought they meant back to the roots. The first game had mature and somewhat dark humour which I love! Ratchet's personality from the first game was also the best. And some of the enemies from the first game was fucking terrifying. And who could forget the epic music from David Bergeaud! And Ratchet's clothing from the first game. I don't know, it feels like the R&C games are more and more "Hey kids! Fluffy and buddy goes on an adventure!" I'm getting old and I just want that R&C 1 feeling, because the first one was the best.
So funny to see this, I just played out the original Ratchet & Clank 1 on the Vita so it's great to see how beautiful everything looks. I'll probably get it on ps4 too
Beyond excited for this latest installment on the PS4 along with the film. Unlike many gaming franchises, Ratchet and Clank/Insomniac have maintained the high standards set with the first game through each console's original games. Going Commando is easily my favorite installment, due to its level of difficulty, variety, and interaction between Ratchet and side characters. Don't even mind the PSP games or side PS3 "half-games" all a great extension of a universe that I truly care about. The graphics continue to improve, but the simplicity and attachment to a similar character never change.
In my opinion, Ratchet & Clank : Up Your Arsenal had a very good storyline and humor sarcastic humor between characters and it felt very natural. While in this game maybe because of the over detailed graphics, the speech, the mimics, the jokes?, feel awkward and almost try hard. And Up Your Arsenal also had a fantastic weapon arsenal, armor, gameplay, and ai. It was actually hard to dodge the attacks of some enemies. And the weapon leveling system felt addicting. The story even made me care about the rangers robots. The game felt like you had this core story and all you did in various planets was to move on with that core storyline. These new games feel like empty. Where is my home? where are my friends? Like the phoenix in Up Your Arsenal. Who is the guy im trying to reach to and beat? I believe that these criticizations can lead Insomniac to the production of a very good game.
Like, where is the progression? Who am i getting closer and warmer with? (its 18.51 pm here and i started playing Up Your Arsenal at 2am or so from the beginning and finished it at 8am or so, so its not just a childhood memory im using here, plus, i didnt speak english at those ages well
I.need to get a ps4 now... This sold it to me, just as the other Ratchet and Clank games with the ps3, damn you.insomniac for making such an awesome franchise exclusively to Sony!
This remake looks so amazing I've played the 1st R & C many times I hope the story is as consistent as the graphics and gameplay because I like the story in the 1st game.
If Insomniac and Sony hadn't spent so many years killing this franchise after the excellent A Crack in Time, I'd be interested in this. But the countless mediocre spinoffs that followed and the massively disappointing Into the Nexus, which clearly had no effort into it, has sullied the Ratchet & Clank name.
I'm right because I don't even go looking for this stuff to 'nitpick' it's just extremely easy to notice. Not my problem if the majority of the people don't notice or more likely don't want to notice. I've played games where the frame rate drops dramatically and had people tell me it doesn't. But it's obviously right there. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean I'm wrong. And that's my last comment on this. You're pissed and looking to cause trouble because somebody isn't kissing the ass of Insomniac or the garbage that was R&C Into the Nexus. It's the lowest rated R&C for a reason.
It is the lowest rated out of the mainline Ratchet & Clank games. It's at a 76, the others were in the mid-80s and above. Even Size Matters on PSP was received better. As far as framerate issues, it is a legitimate flaw. If you disagree and want to go on believing otherwise, fine, good for you enjoy the game. My opinion is different.

I mean in reality, the story ended after 2. 3 didn't even need to exist story wise. It didn't really improve on anything mechanically. It just had new environments in which to do the same stuff again. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. It's better than 2 anyway because it had more platforming sections and in more varied areas. But they moved on, they knew it was time. If they made a new one, I'd still love it and I'd play it to death, but there's no point bringing it back now if they can't actually do something new with it (like Insomniac aren't really doing, since they're so "dedicated").

almir908 Actually, they did the jetpack thing in Into the Nexus, but it wasn't as polished as this. Also, the fuel dissipated fairly quicker.

This looks amazing. Loved the way how it opens up, looks like one of those hunting activities returning (something the original didn't have, but a much welcome addition to later games).
The game looks beautiful but all these weapons look almost identical to the ones in the Future series. This is the Solana Galaxy! It's Gadgetron, not Grummelnet! Plus, the old weapons got pretty tiring to use for the last four games. A new catalog would be nice, especially if Mr. Zurkon is replaced.
Considering that this level is introducing button prompts for simple things like rail-switching I'm guessing that this is one of the early levels in the game and they're still giving the tutorial for the controls so it makes sense that this stage should be easy before ramping the difficulty up on other worlds.
I swear this comment section is really annoying, so many stuck up kids are here saying "a4o and ffa sucked, insomniac can't make good games anymore" SHUT THE HELL UP! Let develepors experiment sometimes. Just be happy that ratchet and clank has been carried on and not left to die like jak and daxter and gex.

Uncharted and Ratchet - the main reasons to own PS4, the best main platform for everything else is PC - if you want to play all games 1080p/60fps

I'm a HUGE Ratchet and Clank fan, I played and loved the originals (especially Locked and Loaded, my favourite game of all time), enjoyed the PS3 games and loved the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy. Now that the franchise is coming to PS4, I must pre-order it, it's probably going to be my favourite game of 2016.
No remixing or keeping the old Iconic music? Kinda a kick in the nuts but this game is still epic.

Loving it so far. The level looks like a nicely updated version of the original level, while adding several new things to it to make the experience fresh.

I know its really late in development now but it'd be really cool if each of the gun companies were all in the game and they each had guns. so you'd have Gadgetron weapons, Megacorp weapons, Grummelnet weapons and Constructo weapons. each company would have their own vendors. on another note, sad to hear the soundtrack doesn't stand up to the original.
Why do so many people complain about 30 FPS? films run at 24 FPS. your eyes barely notice it. yes 60 looks smoother but 30 is still fine. anything below 20 is when you need to start worrying
How can people tell? I can't tell you the difference at all, but if it is 30fps, I guarantee at least one game website will give it a crap review because of it. I'll buy it either way though.
Tʜᴇ Gᴀᴍᴇ Cʜᴀɴɢᴇʀ 24 fps works for films because they use a type of motion blur that makes it so the frames seem to mend together thus giving a smooth appearance the type of motion blue used for films does not work with games because they are dynamic and always changing what happening on screen at random intervals. also with a game like ratchet and clank achieving 60 fps would be fairly easy considering how its set up and the levels are not too massive. if not its fine but i would rather have the games be amazingly crafted then awesome with some drawbacks.

good to see awesome developers stick to what made their games amazing, was scared they were going to change it up to try and compete like so many of my other favorite series. i fucking love you insomniac, very few games have me smiling the entire way through the only complaint i have is the wait for this! also mr. zurkon is the pinnacle of badassery.

Some parts are so close to the original you can recognize them in a heartbeat, others are completely original. THIS is how you do a remake.

This was posted nearly 8 months ago and I hear Insomniac has spent the last 6 months polishing the game. This already looks spectacular as it is so I can't possibly imagine how much BETTER it will look when the game's released! :D

I wish changing weapons was all in real-time. I don't like how everything freezes in the background, but besides that, it looks like a really good game. Insomniac is getting closer to reaching their goal of making it feel as if you're playing an interactive movie

Ratchet the last Lombax I don't remember that happening in the original, but I guess Quark had a pretty rough time between 2 and 3.

Ratchet the last Lombax 99sonder I believe they're revamping the levels to be more explorative and multiple path-like, similar to ToD, Q4B, and CiT. Since Gaspar was the only planet in the game with an additional side mission that didn't have to be done (but rewarded you a skill point), it makes sense they'd put one of the "Bring me 10 crystals/horns/bones/etc." missions in here.
Otherwise, it looks like levels are retaining their base layouts, and I _LOVE_ Insomniac for doing that. :3

What happened?
All the weapons are from past games (that we've seen at least twice before) except the Pixelizer.
The re-made enemies are cool, but nowhere near as grim and frightening as the originals.
And what's up with the button symbols everywhere?

What happened to the kickass music that the older games had? The music you could remember from a certain level and go around humming it all day?
You can have your graphics, PS4, and new bells and whistles, but without new weapons, good music, new gameplay mechanics and a more original feel to the remake, what tribute does this pay to the original Ratchet and Clank?

DaFrontPorch No way man! The weapons shown here might be to save the new ones for later but we've seen it before! In The Nexus, we've seen the Warmonger, Crossbow Sniper thing, fusion grenade, and typical blaster all before in at last 2 games. Yes they've had new ones but about 1/2 the weapons are from past games.
The enemies closely resemble the orginal models but they're just more cartoonish now with less detail and a more harmless feel.
I can't be the only one who thinks the R&C games took a turn for the worse, and if I am, we all know it deep down.
More cartoonish, same weapons, no awesome music, downgraded enemies and character models, I'm just sad with the new games in some ways.
rahkshifan99 I couldn't agree more. Of course I'm looking forward to the game, but when they said back to the roots, I thought they meant back to the roots. The first game had mature and somewhat dark humour which I love! Ratchet's personality from the first game was also the best. And some of the enemies from the first game was fucking terrifying. And who could forget the epic music from David Bergeaud! And Ratchet's clothing from the first game. I don't know, it feels like the R&C games are more and more "Hey kids! Fluffy and buddy goes on an adventure!" I'm getting old and I just want that R&C 1 feeling, because the first one was the best.

So funny to see this, I just played out the original Ratchet & Clank 1 on the Vita so it's great to see how beautiful everything looks. I'll probably get it on ps4 too
We need the original music, this soundtrack feels so generic and uninspired, the soundtrack from that first game was really something special.
Beyond excited for this latest installment on the PS4 along with the film. Unlike many gaming franchises, Ratchet and Clank/Insomniac have maintained the high standards set with the first game through each console's original games. Going Commando is easily my favorite installment, due to its level of difficulty, variety, and interaction between Ratchet and side characters. Don't even mind the PSP games or side PS3 "half-games" all a great extension of a universe that I truly care about. The graphics continue to improve, but the simplicity and attachment to a similar character never change.
In my opinion, Ratchet & Clank : Up Your Arsenal had a very good storyline and humor sarcastic humor between characters and it felt very natural. While in this game maybe because of the over detailed graphics, the speech, the mimics, the jokes?, feel awkward and almost try hard. And Up Your Arsenal also had a fantastic weapon arsenal, armor, gameplay, and ai. It was actually hard to dodge the attacks of some enemies. And the weapon leveling system felt addicting. The story even made me care about the rangers robots.
The game felt like you had this core story and all you did in various planets was to move on with that core storyline.
These new games feel like empty. Where is my home? where are my friends? Like the phoenix in Up Your Arsenal. Who is the guy im trying to reach to and beat? I believe that these criticizations can lead Insomniac to the production of a very good game.
Like, where is the progression? Who am i getting closer and warmer with? (its 18.51 pm here and i started playing Up Your Arsenal at 2am or so from the beginning and finished it at 8am or so, so its not just a childhood memory im using here, plus, i didnt speak english at those ages well

If Insomniac and Sony hadn't spent so many years killing this franchise after the excellent A Crack in Time, I'd be interested in this. But the countless mediocre spinoffs that followed and the massively disappointing Into the Nexus, which clearly had no effort into it, has sullied the Ratchet & Clank name.
Into The Nexus was garbage, it didn't consistently run at 30 ("fps").
It's not his problem you can't tell the difference between frames per second. Something that is extremely easy to notice.

I'm right because I don't even go looking for this stuff to 'nitpick' it's just extremely easy to notice. Not my problem if the majority of the people don't notice or more likely don't want to notice. I've played games where the frame rate drops dramatically and had people tell me it doesn't. But it's obviously right there. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean I'm wrong. And that's my last comment on this. You're pissed and looking to cause trouble because somebody isn't kissing the ass of Insomniac or the garbage that was R&C Into the Nexus. It's the lowest rated R&C for a reason.
It is the lowest rated out of the mainline Ratchet & Clank games. It's at a 76, the others were in the mid-80s and above. Even Size Matters on PSP was received better.
As far as framerate issues, it is a legitimate flaw. If you disagree and want to go on believing otherwise, fine, good for you enjoy the game. My opinion is different.

They moved on. Jak was kinda done anyway. Where else could they have taken it? I mean in reality, the story ended after 2. 3 didn't even need to exist story wise. It didn't really improve on anything mechanically. It just had new environments in which to do the same stuff again.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. It's better than 2 anyway because it had more platforming sections and in more varied areas. But they moved on, they knew it was time.
If they made a new one, I'd still love it and I'd play it to death, but there's no point bringing it back now if they can't actually do something new with it (like Insomniac aren't really doing, since they're so "dedicated").
