NATO is one large mercenary army (force) working for the Imperialist Empire. This Empire, an offspring of the British Empire, prefers to colonise the World using International Finance Capital based out of the "City of London" but will not hesitate to use force and violence when necessary (WW1, WW2, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Syria, Ukraine etc..). There are "managers" that branch out like a spider's tentacles to maintain the Empires control like the BIS (Bank of International Settlements), Wall Street, MIC (military industrial complex), Westernised academic institutions, mainstream media, NGO's etc. The purpose of Imperialism is wealth extraction (land, resources, labor, human mind) from the World for the benefit a Racist Elite minority (they do nothing and live in a garden while the slaves do everything and live in the jungle). The Imperialists will "lie, cheat and steal" (as per Mike Pompeo ex US secretary of state and CIA director) to maintain their grip over humanity.

Another form of control is currencies, making certain countries impoverished through their low currencies. As an example it makes it impossible for them to have purchase power anywhere while the higher currencies have purchasing power anywhere in the world.

A more focused analysis would provide a better basis for practical resistance. Also, I don't think it owes as much to "the British Empire" as you seem to think. It has never had any national allegiance - it is the inevitable ourgrowth of Liberal economics and corporatism.

@@kubhlaikhan2015It absolutely in its modern iteration is out of the British empire which rebranded itself the commonwealth of nations (Lionel Curtis) and fully intended to bring America back into its fold. They consider themselves Atlanticists not European. They are a continuation of the Venetians out of the Netherlands having conquered England in the 1688 Glorious Revolution with William of Orange.

Excellent analysis by Vijad Prashad, with good input from Rania Khalek.
Another word that also describes the times we are in are escalating times, the plans of the elites are put into practice, and the struggle for resources increases, but also real shifts in the geopolitical landscape with a crumbling empire and large parts of the world heading towards a multipolar world .
I, and certainly many with me in the west, have long said to ourselves, these leaders have no visions, most of their talking are trivial "fights" which are just shows, while we get to read about the next decision they have made which is not always in the interest of the people, but rather economic liberalism adapted to foreign big capital.
So it's not just in the mentioned countries that decadence takes hold, it also happens, for example, here in Norway.
But since Norway was mentioned, I can tell you that our national oil fund withdrew 440,390,000 USD from Israel, while politicians are working to divest more, and it is easier in a country where Norway's largest newspaper asked its readers whether Israel should be denied participation in Eurovision Song Contest and 90% answered yes. I think there is much of the same atmosphere throughout the west as well.
(This last part was my "pep talk" Rania, ha ha)

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 *🤖 Ruling class losing its vision and direction*
    - Ruling classes in the global North have lost their vision and direction, with no clear narrative or destiny for their people.
    - Leaders like Biden, Trump, Sunak, Starmer, and Macron lack a coherent vision and project for their countries and the world.
    00:41 *🌍 The rise of hyper-imperialism*
    - The world is in a dangerous phase of hyper-imperialism, where imperialism has entered a new, more aggressive and destructive stage.
    - Hyper-imperialism is characterized by the inability of the global North to confront the rise of other powers economically, leading to increased reliance on military power, coups, and sanctions.
    - This new era of hyper-imperialism is decadent because the global North lacks a coherent project for the planet and is only trying to maintain its power.
    01:21 *🌍 Contextualizing hyper-imperialism*
    - The concepts of hyper-imperialism, the situation in Gaza, NATO's role, and the Cold War with China are all interconnected and need to be understood in relation to each other.
    - The decline of global North hegemony is shifting the geopolitical landscape, creating new possibilities for the global South.
    - Maintaining hope in the face of an "extermination campaign" in Gaza is a challenge.
09:54 *🌍 Interconnecting global issues - Gaza, NATO, Ukraine, and the Cold War with China*
    - The concepts of Gaza, NATO's role, the situation in Ukraine, and the Cold War with China are all interconnected and need to be understood together.
    - These seemingly disparate global issues are part of the same broader story of the shifting geopolitical landscape and the decline of Western hegemony.
    - Maintaining hope in the face of the "extermination campaign" in Gaza is a key challenge.
18:13 *🌆 The Concept of Decadence in Leadership*
    - The term "decadent" used in the report's subtitle refers to the lack of vision and purpose in the leadership of the advanced capitalist states.
    - After major revolutions like the French Revolution and the Russian Revolution, the ruling classes had clear projects and visions for the future.
    - However, the current leadership in countries like the US, Germany, UK, and France no longer have such compelling narratives or a sense of destiny for their people.
    - This leads to a state of "decadence" where the ruling class is concerned only with maintaining power, rather than pursuing meaningful change or progress.
    - Without a clear project or vision, the ruling class resorts to repression and silencing of dissent, as seen in the response to discussions about the situation in Gaza.
22:08 *💔 Demoralization and Helplessness in the Face of Injustice*
    - A new generation of people in the advanced capitalist states are feeling demoralized and helpless in the face of their governments' indifference to the suffering in Gaza.
    - The ruling elites in these countries have no coherent rationale for their support of Israel's actions, and they resort to repression and smearing of critics rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue.
    - This creates a sense of futility and hopelessness among those who care about the situation in Gaza and want to see their governments take meaningful action.
25:35 *🔍 The Enduring Struggle of the Palestinian People*
    - The Palestinian people have faced tremendous suffering and displacement for decades, starting from the Nakba in 1948 and the ongoing occupation and oppression.
    - Despite the immense hardship, the Palestinians have maintained their resilience and continued to rebuild their lives and communities in places like Gaza.
    - The destruction of Palestinian infrastructure and homes by Israel is a constant cycle, but the Palestinians continue to fight for their rights and dignity.
    - The global North's failure to hold Israel accountable and end the occupation is a testament to the decadence of their leadership, which prioritizes power over justice.
28:52 *🌞 Israel's Failed Military Strategies in Gaza*
    - Israel's military operations in Gaza have not achieved their desired objectives.
    - Israel has failed to decisively defeat the Palestinian resistance forces like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
    - Despite Israel's systematic destruction of Gaza's infrastructure, the Palestinians have continued to fight back and resist the occupation.
30:45 *💪 Resilience of the Palestinian Resistance*
    - The Palestinian resistance forces in Gaza have shown remarkable resilience and the ability to regroup and continue attacking Israeli forces.
    - Israel's efforts to fully occupy and control Gaza have been thwarted by the determined resistance of the Palestinians.
    - The Palestinians' refusal to submit or evacuate Gaza, even in the face of intense bombing, has been a source of inspiration.
32:08 *🌍 The Delegitimization of Israel on the Global Stage*
    - The more people Israel kills in Gaza and the longer the conflict continues, the more delegitimized Israel becomes in the eyes of the global population.
    - Israeli officials will face increased scrutiny and potential legal consequences for their actions, as the principle of universal jurisdiction is applied.
    - The protest movements around the world, especially the younger generation, will continue to disrupt and confront Israeli officials, denying them peace.
33:30 *🔥 The Radicalizing Impact of the Conflict*
    - The conflict has had a significant radicalizing impact, especially on the younger generation, who are coming out in large numbers to protest and disrupt.
    - This protest movement has an immense power to challenge the ruling class and their support for Israel's actions.
    - The end of the conflict will not bring peace for Israeli officials, as the protesters will continue to haunt and disrupt them wherever they go.
37:55 *🎖️ The Role of NGOs in Conflict Zones*
    - The Norwegian Refugee Council has been active in providing assistance in Gaza, filling the gaps left by the UN.
    - However, there is a broader "bankruptcy" of NGOs that try to remain non-political, as war and inhumanity are inherently political issues.
    - Non-governmental organizations should have an opinion on inhumanity and not remain silent.
39:04 *🌍 The Changing Confidence of the Global South*
    - The countries of the Global South are now finding their voice and confidence to challenge the global North.
    - For a long time, these countries lacked the confidence to speak out against imperialism and the global North, fearing sanctions and economic consequences.
    - However, the situation has changed, as countries now have more options for financing and economic partnerships, reducing their dependence on the West.
41:53 *🚀 The Increased Maneuverability of Global South Countries*
    - Countries like Namibia are now able to seek financing and investment from alternative sources, reducing their reliance on the International Monetary Fund and Western institutions.
    - This increased "space of maneuver" allows governments in the Global South to be more forthright in their criticism of the West and imperialism.
    - However, the US still tries to impose sanctions and discipline these countries, but they now have more options and are less susceptible to such measures.
43:13 *🇨🇳 The Cautious Approach of China*
    - While the Chinese have strongly condemned the occupation and war, they have been cautious in providing direct assistance to conflict zones like Gaza.
    - This is due to the US military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean, effectively cordoning off the region and preventing Chinese ships from providing aid.
    - The Chinese, despite their power, do not yet have the confidence to directly confront the US in these situations.

The way Rania screwed up her face when Vijay said: I've visited people who used to be Marxists who became quote unquote liberals..." [About 40:41] was priceless!
Yet another wonderful interview with Mr. Prashad. My biggest worry is that, when faced with their final demise, the North Atlantic states will try their utmost to drag as much of humanity down with them. After all, the US still has something like 5,500 nuclear warheads....

THE GREAT GAZA OIL AND GAS THEFT
    Oct. 12, 2023
In June 2023, Israel quietly approved the development of Gaza Marine, after leaving field undeveloped for over 20 years.
Gaza Marine is estimated to hold over 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, much more than is needed to power the Palestinian territories and some of which could potentially be exported.

PALESTINIAN OIL AND GAS WEALTH UNDER ISRAEL'S CONTROL
    Oct. 21, 2017
Different geologists and economists confirm that Palestine lies above vast reservoirs of oil and gas wealth, although this collides with the fact that the Palestinians are facing a "major stumbling block" preventing them from exploiting such riches, which is the Israeli occupation that has been controlling all natural resources and their development since 1967.

The late Canadian Marxist scholar Leo Panitch spoke and wrote about the making of global capitalism after 1945. His macro thesis was that national imperialism after 1945 was transformed into a multinational capitalist condominum, whose great American-led project was to reintegrate Germany and Japan into the global capitalist economy. Panitch rejected the Leninist theory of inter-imperial rivalry. The G7 is a capitalist condominium that emerged from the ruins of WWII in 1945. Panitch wrote about how far from inter-imperial rivalry, the former empires including Japan are all now united at the level of finance minister. Bankers are the vamguard of technocratic meritocracy. This making of global capitalism is what has been unraveling since 2008, back when Russia and China were still partvof the G7 project of global capitalism under unipolar American leadership.

I came up with the term "Three Stooges of Empire" for USA, China and Russia, because it is something of a "joke" when an "empire" takes itself too seriously and demands Domination over everything and everybody. Empire being a "dystopia" for the majority of "peasants" being exploited by the "Bosses." We could forget the struggle between capitalism and communism and try to "free" all the masses stuck inside systems of control. I was naively unaware of the French colonies in Africa, with that French/African currency draining African wealth to France What an insult to human civilization!!!!!!! France OUT OF AFRICA NOW!!!!!! A "secret" empire victimizing millions. Everybody should have a REAL hate for any pretense of "Empire."
