    Know everyone else already knows but I didn't. Gotta like that reflective tape man....Just didn't realize how important until I finally went fishing down there and went to the Big Island. Many thanks for the tip. Mahalo.

      It is pretty essential when fishing in the dark 💡

      @@HiFishGear Not used to fishing in the dark in Alaska... Never couldn't see my rods. Lol... I am learning from you! P.s...I know Ice fishing happens in the dark winters. Just not for me. ;)

    I eat roi pretty often and yeah I usually just eat the top loin.
    On a side note when cavy from morning tide fishing was in Indonesia the locals also told him to avoid eating rois too. I’ve always wondered if other places avoid eating rois too.

      @@yea_i_podagee_so_whatnever looked too deep into it but the aussies love the coral trout but never really came across any of them saying anything about cig. Is it not as prominent in that area of the world?

    Bill, you loosen your drag after every time fishing?

    • @HiFishGear
      @HiFishGear  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not sure exactly what you mean? I loosen my drag before cast so I can adjust where my lead is during the cast. I tighten my drag after I reel in slack and adjust my drag to an appropriate tension once the rod is in the holder. I try not to adjust my drag while fighting a fish, unless it’s obvious that my set drag is to light for the fish, but only a little at a time. When I’m done fishing, I do loosen my drag when storing my reels.

      @@HiFishGear I got the impression you had loosened it for storage while watching. Maybe I should do the same. Good for the drag I assume. Mahalo!

    Roi Sashimi is excellent Roi & Moi is my top 2 eating fish off the reef. I ate 3 rois within a 2 week period along with all the other fish I was eating.
    Don't believe the stigma try Roi atleast once in your life. Just fillet em and don't eat the head. When I cut my Roi fillets I cut the bottom half of the fillets off where they meet at the belly for extra insurance for sound mind.

      There are no tests available. If you’re worried about it, catch and release. If it’s an invasive species catch/kill/release.
