I love these P12 and P14 max fans. Yes, you need to tune the fan curves, but they're like 90% of the best performance you can possibly get, for 30% of the price. One of the things I really appreciate is that they start spinning at very low PWM values (>5% I think) so you can really use the whole PWM range - it's perfectly possible to have these run at 600rpm with the *option* of 2800rpm if you suddenly find a CPU+GPU load that dumps 800W of waste heat into your case all of a sudden.
Thanks for the review! I’m putting these in as case fans and replacing the fans in the Liquid freezer 3 with these. Bought 2 five packs can’t beat the performance to price! Great tip about controller them with a custom fan curve.
for the price I'd agree. There's less competition in that size of AIO as well. I have the LFII and see no reason to push/pull however. The LFIII has a higher speed pump which is its main advantage. An advantage it wouldn't need if Intel i9 wasn't pushing 300watts.
It would be near pointless, interesting but 🤷♂️there is only so close to ambient you can get. And that's ignoring the chip itself and the mobo unless you are pumping insane voltage for some benchmark (nobody is doing a max over clock 24/7) what's the point if it runs 1 or 2 degrees cooler if it's extreme cooling then you get a chiller. Or on a budget run tubing or even radiator into an ice water bucket (been there done that😁) I once considered running pipe into our outdoor pond and use water of pond to cool the water in the loop.........needless to say wife not amused. Not going to lie I am curious. I have a 480mm rad and found at stock chip cooled to acceptable levels passive. Even over clocked it's not unmanageable. I do also have a 360mm rad and a 240 from a guy giving up on water cooling which would ALL fit my case Enthro Primo. Kinda tempted to just bung them all in next CPU I mean it's a shame to waste them right 👍 I would love to see at what point cooling potential (thermal mass, radiator etc) does not matter as there is only so much heat can be transferred at a time
Now we just need the LF3 420 MAX, either by arctic or by you. Probably not going to be swapping these in on the lf2 420, since im more limited by coldplate and pump than fans anyways.
I have a pair of these P14 max on my corsair h115i elite capellix. The massive airflow and static pressure combined with this 280mm radiator make the perfect aio to me. Mine are also the 109 cfm spec box and work perfectly fine lol
The Max series suffered from a bearing noise issue. Their bearing was changed in recent batches and now it's fine but there's still a chance that you'll get ones with old noisy bearings so either wait some time until those old batches disappear from the market or make sure you can return them if you get those.
Nice.. got me a set (5box 2wks ago) and build it on the 420 LF-III in puch (not puch/pull) and used the originals (RGB) as front case fans (7000D) for a 14900k build with a soft control curve... it's a cyclone in a case.. lol.. thnx for your vid's

FDB. Iirc think they changed the in the later revisions due to complaints for noise. The origional had a low quality dual bearing(s) that was quite noticable, even with lower RPM's.
Is it worth replacing the P14's on my Liquid Freezer ii? Possibly not as my fans rarely hit 50% RPM, gaming load usually sees temps in the mid 50's°C but for those folks who live where it's hot, Arctic has got you!

I love the P12 max for its double ball bearing. It's nice to know that I bought a fan - and it's actually eternal. Yes, if you're not lucky, it will be a little noisier, but as a rule it's a trifle, you still can't hear behind the airflow.
and the P14 max FDM has a bearing, i.e. it is a valve for a couple / several years (if you are lucky).
I miss thermalright TY-143, it cost a penny, it makes noise depending on the speed - not much, it's a pity that they are no longer produced.
Phanteks T30 > P12 Max if anyone cares.
I mean ofc it is
30mm vs 25mm. And better materials, for sure. Want to see more manufacturers push for bigger fans as standard. Huge difference in performance for not a lot extra in width.
@@hinchlikescake7592 yeah especially the affordable and widely available ones lika Arctic, I can't find a T30 anywhere near me and it's expensive enough for me to have to pay like 20-30% import tax on top of its current $35/40 or so, which would push it closer to $50, an absurd price for a single fan.
Pst version please
Finally
arctic has stopped shipping its great products to india , dont know why they doing this ?? we need this fan here
nice, time to replace my p14
well because they are not daisy chainable is a NO for me , good fan spec but i don't know how to deal with cables based on my ITX build , so i prefer the lian li connectivity with just 1 or 2 cables to plug to MOBO , artic should kindly make a daisy good fan
Now make the REAL Liquid Freezer II (or III) 420 max!!!
I'd rather get the phanteks d30s instead
None of these are actually fdb
Day 4 of asking for a review of Corsair's questionable "maglev" fans 🚄🪭
They are bad, everybody knows
They're also so old, I don't think he'll make a review
