    Awwww....this song.....
When I was a young teen there was a national radio show called American Top 40, hosted by Casey Kasem, that EVERYONE listened to religiously every weekend. One of the things they did on the show were 'Long Distance Dedications'. People would write in (letters!) to Kasem and he'd read them on air and play the song being dedicated.
I was a teen in stupid crazy teen love and sent one in about this girl, Sue, that I was crazy over.
It got picked and they played it.
    Now, 40ish years later.....every time I hear 'Somebody's Baby' I think of Sue....like I am right now.

Jackson Browne has to be one of, if not the most overlooked artist from the 70's. He is responsible for one on of the Eagles biggest hits "Take It Easy". He wrote the first half of the song and could not for the life of him figure out how to finish it. He was stuck on the line "I was standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona". Glen Frey of the Eagles was living below him at the time and Browne gave the Eagles the song after Frey finished the lyric "I was standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. Such a fine sight to see, it's a girl my lord, in a flat bed ford slowing down to take a look at me". The song was the Eagles debut single and took the song to #12 and never looked back.

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" doesn't reach the status of an 80's classic without this song. The placement of the song in the movie is so important in the growth of one of the characters.

I think his most moving song is "In the Shape of a Heart." It's about his first wife, who took her own life.

This was from the early 80’s (83), but his best masterpieces were from the 70’s. You have to do “Late For The Sky”, “For A Dancer” and “Fountain Of Sorrow”. Another great one was “The Pretender” from 1976.

Jackson Browne is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters. I'm only a few years younger than him and have 'grown up' listening and singing along to his songs. 'These Days' is amazing to me in that he wrote this song when he was just 16 years old! I couldn't think that clearly when I was just 16 {hah}!!! I can't pick a favorite song because they're all too good. Keep those videos coming.

Jackson Browne was the 80s pop/rock version of the country storyteller. He draws you into the scenario with the lyrics. So descriptive when he tells you what's going on in the song. And of course Fast Times is an iconic film for my generation. Great song!!

Jackson is an icon in the industry.... You want creative, you have to do "The Load Out and Stay" from Running on Empty album.. Jackson and the piano for most of the first song. A treasure!!!

Jackson Browne is more than just the songwriter musician if you get deep down into his life many albums that he wrote the heart and soul into his music the love he has for his son the sorrow he had for when he lost his wife the education behind him the love of the world that he has Jackson Browne will always be one of my favorite musicians I have all his albums or I should say his music at the time when I lost my husband I would turn on music and it was the only time I could really come into my reality again
