I recently saw the layout that Nancy and Joe created in person and all I can say is wow. From the multiple train lines to the creativity with the layout it truly is impressive. I love how Joe had an idea and put it place. No detail big or small was ignored. From the working signal lights to the placement of buildings, vehicles or people, nothing was left out. And Nancy's work with the landscape is just as good. Up close and personal you can see the detail she created. You can tell that this project took an enormous amount of time, energy and money but the final product really came out great.
On the second anniversary of posting this video, Nancy and I would like to thank each and everyone of you who took the time to watch it and write a comment, a like or dislike. We never expected this kind of response. Thank you again one and all. Joe Jacobs
I really enjoyed seein this a.c ms hope you can do an engine eye view ad long with a cab view soon. Its really fun travelling the lines that way. Blessings.
Wow, this is in my opinion, is my perfect home layout. It encompasses everything that is needed without appearing too congested and busy like some city layouts and it concentrates on giving the important life like long running distances and effective yard work. Excellent job.
You have a fantastic model railroad and are very blessed to have a wife who seems to share with you in your model railroad. I find that very unique that she shares with you in the joy of building this magnificent layout. Thank you so much for sharing your video!
Wow. Just amazing. And what a wonderful wife you have that not only puts up with your hobby but helps you and is involved with it. You're a very lucky man.
Absolutely some of the highest quality terrain modeling I have seen. Kudos to you, Nancy...Only a female would have the patience for that level of detail and overall balance. Can't get enough of this layout! You did a good job, too, Joseph! I think that I will hire someone to do mine.
Very very nice. You have open areas that don't look empty, and busy areas that don't look crowded. You have achieved a nice balance, with an excellent eye for detail.
It’s layouts and dedication to the craft like this video shows that gets me motivated to start a larger and more detailed layout. Thank you for posting this. Gets my model railroading inner kid excited!
Fascinating layout, im hoping I can capture the realism of the lehigh george like you have. That place is a true treasure of natures beauty. Thanks for sharing all your hard work with the world!
The mountains job is simply fantastic for how it was projected and built. Such layout, such a museum, will endure as to teach the XXI Century people how life was in the XX.
I have never, ever seen anything on this scale and so beautifully built. I am in complete awe by your skill and attention to detail. Thank you for sharing. I hardly dare look at my little 4 x 2 model :-(
On the internet there are many examples of ambition and ability. Many come close to achieving a balance between these two, some manage to meet their intended goals and can be rightfully proud of their results but few manage to attain this level of grace and elegance. Both yourself and the Lady Nancy have definitely created something wonderful, beautiful and inspiring. Well done! A truly magnificent job...Charming indeed...Thankyou Sir I am in awe.
What a masterpiece - You can see every bit of the countless years of effort put into this layout, it really is gorgeous. I really do appreciate your video and sharing the background. Concur with the comments below at how nice it is that your wife helped as well. Greate vid, inspiring and just great to watch again and again !
You have one beautiful layout, one thing that is very impressive is how the roads are continous and just don't have a overpass and stop nice water seens and beautiful tree work . Its not over congested its perfect like a see on a lot of sets one remarkable job . Sincerley Jerald Watkins Jr.
I know I'm about 5 years late on this. I decided to watch because of all of the greenery I seen in the "up next" section. What are your trees made out of? The inspiration on this masterpiece is very high. The fact that your wife was involved in such a very important part of it is more wonderful than words can express. It's great when you have a significant other that is just as passionate about your hobby as you are. As we can all see, the results are endless and magnificent. Thanks for the tour!
Very well done. Exceptional detail. It was a pleasing tour of the layout, and made me think of my first train set when I was a small boy in the late 1960's.
Wow!!!!!!. I Watch Different layouts on line for ideas to help me design my own layout,. This one I have had to save to view often to take in what I saw as the whole thing was fantastic. The whole concept Is the best I have ever seen, it has been done a totally different way to the norm.
Before looking at the other comments on this wonderful layout, I also couldn't believe how beautiful this layout was. I'm just getting back into the hobby and this video just set the benchmark a lot higher for me. And that's a good thing. The one thing I want to do it make my train layout look is realistic. This does it in spades!!! Congrats again to you and your wife for your efforts. Mark
Congratulations. This is easily the best layout I’ve seen, and seen on utube. Thanks for posting. The design, scenic details, the great, sparing use of structures all add up.
This is exceptional, I always say that the most realistic layouts always have more foliage. This is one of them, the track design is also realistic and very interesting. I love the detail work its been done to the highest standard, this is truely a dream layout and I would never want for anything again if I were to have something like that!
Magnificent!!! A track layout diagram shown interspaced with video of described locations would help understanding the concepts. Beautiful finishing of the layout edge with cabinet level joinery.
No doubt that this layout encompasses all aspects of railroading! Great scenery and modeling throughout! Best home layout that I have seen, hands down! Thanks for sharing your layout with us.
Joe. Incredible Job ! I hope to have a layout that big when I am retired. Been modeling for 15 yrs now and long way to go. Greatest Hobby and ongoing !!!!
Terrific railroad Joe and Nancy. I say railroad cause it looks so life like, you feel like you're watching the real thing and forget you're seeing models. With the tall scenery and long trains, you really show the advantages of N scale, but with such detail, you could make most people believe it's HO. So many scenes, but isn't crowded together. Hard to believe it's only 20 x 26.
This is my first viewing of your layout (Nancy and Joe's!) It is absolutely gorgeous, and in my humble opinion is in the top of the top tier in N scale model railroading. It has everything, scenery, great track plan and smooth running, signaling, controlling, and on and on. It is incredible to behold. The fact that you modeled northern PA is an extra touch, as I grew up in Harrisburg. Just this past summer I visited the Lehigh Valley area for the first time and it is a beautiful area. I definitely saved this link!
This is without a doubt the most wonderful model railway I've had the pleasure to see. Such brilliant detail all over, and great to be able to run such long trains. Superb!
Just magnificent. The level of detail and authenticity of each display, scenery, layout, and density of rolling stock and locos is phenomenal. Congrats. You both certainly "pressed the envelope" with N-scale!
My compliments to Joe & Nancy on this beautiful layout. It is one of the best that I have ever seen on TH-cam or anywhere! I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing it.
Joseph, d success of ur layout goes 2 Nancy. She has a talent 4 natural beauty. D shards of stones in d mountains and d river, natural placement. I am very honored 2 c ur layout in person, my pleasure.2 Nancy and Joe, awesome. Thank u both let letting us share ur beautiful workman ship. C U
You and your wife have a fantastic train layout. As I watched I didn't see any camera breaks, great one time shoot. Also would like to add that who ever was behind the camera did an awesome job. So many rush around with the camera you think you are on a roller coaster ride. Thank you both for sharing your beautiful train layout.
G'day Joe and Nancy, May I offer my humble congratulations on your magnificent Layout which gives me so much inspiration to improve my N Scale Layout. Either that or after seeing how it should be done maybe I'll take to mine which a Chainsaw and start from scratch. May I wish you many years of enjoyment to come. Hope you and your family are safe and all well during these trying times with this accursed virus and we come out of it a wiser and smarter Planet. Cheers from a new subscriber and Fellow Train Nut. Dennis and Margaret Thank you very much for the nice comments. Don't take a chainsaw to your layout everyone of us has different ideas that what makes the hobby interesting Take care and stay safe
Best N guage layout I've ever seen. Two comments. Curves are a little tight for maximum realism. Also, Their next big project could be weathering everything.
J and N, I'm sorry I didn't finish what I started to say. You are both to be commended on an absolutely gorgeous layout ! It's one of the best I have ever seen.
N & J, this is such a fascinating railway. I'm from Hawaii and i"m currently in Thailand traveling around the world westward. Your layout is so awesome. It's the type of hidden gem that multitudes would like to see but never hear about. P.S. I love that Joe is willing to give the silent Nancy top billing in "N & J". Good man.
I love your layout.I am working on my 2nd N scale layout. The 1st layout is about 35 years old. With blocks. My new layout is DCC. You and your wife did a great job.
This is really outstanding. Fantastic work. Makes me want to build my own and get to learning on how to do so. I love the scenery, it has a very peaceful feel to it.
Great N scale layout Joseph that you & your wife Nancy did together. I’m in the process of starting my own N scale layout. Mine will be the West Coast from San Diego to Vancouver. I’m in the process of scratch building a covered walkway for the Amtrak station which I want to make a replica of hate Santa Barbara Amtrak station. I already have an Amtrak Superliner train which is the Coast Starlight and the Southern Pacific Morning Daylight which will be my excursion train. Most of my layout I want to make double track. 7 members of my family worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad out of Coxton Yard. My great grandfather Kearney, 4 grand uncles & 2 second cousins all not only worked for the Lehigh Valley but lived in Pittston, Wyoming.
Great job. Great layout. Third or forth time I've watched it (months apart) and it still amazes me how real it looks. It's not crowded, but you have so much stuff included, nice balance.
Incredible detail i love the small gauge trains, you and your wife should be proud of the remarkable realistic scenery, i had to watch it several times to see all the wonder.
This is a great layout, I just watched the video and can appreciate the amount of work, thanks for sharing. I am at this about a year and a half and there is just so much to this hobby.

Super awesome layout! 2000ft of track is about 97km in N scale. That’s insane compared to my 1.5km of track tabletop layout
