The trees look really good. Fragility is probably a worthwhile compromise.
Looks great. Add some bushes using pieces from the super trees. That really will fill things out. And add some deadfall. Every forest has dead branches and trees. I think it adds a sense of realism
Absolutely!
Trees are intimidating. This video soothed that tension and inspired me.
Very nice video …. I love super trees . I have built a lot of them , in all different stages of heights , as mother nature intended 😊 !
Great looking trees!
Nice trees!! I always used cheap hair spray from the Dollar Store to set the ground foam, after the tree is finished
I take some light yellow spray
paint and lightly spray the tops
of the trees for a sunlight effect!!
Great ideas. I have used hair spray for years as well. It works great to help keep things in place
It's amazing how simple things like that transform our layouts realism. I like when you put out a new video because it usually inspires me.
The colour combinations work well - and if you look in nature, new leaves on trees are often a brighter green on the outside, and they also catch more light - combining brighter green foliage on the surface helps simulate this. Great video!
They look good, my Trees are ready to plant.....Buy...Plant....Done!!
Hi NScaler454 & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Nscaler 454 & Friends Randy
Hi Nscaler454 , your trees look good. There is a lot of work to making trees . Getting the height you want and the colors. I’m not ready for trees yet , I’m going to do early fall colors . Thanks for the update. Have a good weekend. 😎😎 👍
I really like the fall colors, but I wasn't confident it would match the rest of my layout colors.
Wow, this is quite a different take on making and placing trees. I really like it, thanks so much!
Nicely done. Really brings the layout to life
Excellent video.!
FYI; you can use a soldering iron to quickly dab a touch of the bent area to straighten it out with a bit of pressure. I use super glue to secure the branches too. I also use a rattle can to paint my finished trees. I model late September so I paint early fall colors. 😁👍
Cool tip!
You do such a fantastic job with your videos and presentation. With so many creators putting up videos, yours is up there with the best!
Thanks for putting the time in to make these videos.
N Scale proud!
Those trees look great. I never really thought about how the trees tie into surrounding scenery, but yeah I suppose they do.
I came across your channel by chance. And have watched most of your videos. You really have inspirer me to start making my own N scale layout. Thank you.
That's awesome. I'm sure you will enjoy the process of making your layout.
Good job !
Nicely done on the trees. 🌲
Great video and tips! Catching up on the rest of your channel. Finally caught up! Was fun and educational!
Looks awesome. 😊
In painting flower arrangement etc
The issue I'm mulling over as I'm building my layout is making decent looking trees to scale. I'm thinking 2x or 3x the height of my locomotives.
I have made hundreds of Super Trees 🌳 on my ho scale layout ! All trees come in all heights . My advice to all modelers is to make same the scene as close to mother nature as possible . Trees 🌳 can be heights from 5 feet to 150 feet tall …… so experiment and have fun 😊 .
It was good you thought about not obscuring your tunnel entrances. The entrances look really good and it would be a shame, not to mention a waste of money to cover them, regardless of how natural the vegetation would be. I really like your approach to naturalising your layout. I download a lot of your clips for my future reference. 🙂.
Super Supertrees! Thanks for sharing the process. No pine trees?
I keep looking for some pine trees or fir trees, but I don't have the materials to make them from scratch and I haven't found any premade products for a reasonable price or available.
Just to confirm;
After you add the first color of foliage, you dip the tree back into the glue in order add another color?
I actually don't recommend the glue. Use a spray adhesive like seen in the video. I will spray another thin layer of adhesive before applying the second color.
Rule of thumb...if you like it
Sorry if you mentioned it in the video, but what kind of spray adhesive do you use? Thanks!
Lepage multi purpose spray adhesive. I did show it in the video.
